Dead Island: Riptide Walkthrough Part 53 – Side Quests – Family Ties

Marvin has been thinking about what he has missed out on in life. He wants to try to reconcile with his ex-wife. He explains that she might be in her apartment in the Southwestern part of Henderson. Her apartment to the West of the Sea Market. It is just a bit to the West of where you can find Jorge who is buying your diamonds. It is the plaza where you found the Super-shoes for Zombienator as well. Head to the apartment building on the Eastern side of it.

When you make it inside the Survivor will call out for Sylvia. This attracts the attention of 2 Infected, 2 Walkers and then 1 Walker. Kill them all as they rush you (or rush to meet them). From there head on down the long entry way corridor. When you get to the end of the hallway turn to the right, you will see the outlines of a search area. You need to break through the door but first, arm yourself for a Screamer as one is waiting on the other side of the door.

Once inside Sylvia's apartment and you have dealt with the Screamer it is time to start searching it. It is a short search. Just go straight in and look at the coffee table across from the door you came through. You will find Sylvia's “Parent's Phone Bill”  on it. Head over to the right and into the bedroom now. There are 2 things to find in the bedroom. As you enter first turn to the left and look on the desk there. You will find a note that Sylvia wrote. After that look on her bed. Search the open suitcase and it pretty much confirms she likely survived the initial outbreak. Time to find her parent's place.

Head to the Southern end of the plaza then go to the East, past the Sea Market. ON the other side of the watery plaza you will find Sylvia's Parent's Apartment. It is only a little away from the Ogio Moke's Laundry Dead Zone. Head to the marker and enter the noted building.

Once inside you have a few area to search. There is a fire in the next room and you find the corpses of Sylvia's parents: dead from Smoke Inhalation. Head over to the far side of the door to the kitchen. Look on the cabinet by it and you will find the Devastating Home Run Mod Blueprints. Go to the right of that and break into the room there. Look on the floor nearby the bed to find a photo of Sylvia. This gives you something more to go on. You need search the rest of the apartment but there really is not much more to be found here. Head over the toppled door and go into the kitchen. There is a Walker (if it did not die already from the fire in there) and a door to the left. Once again you need to break it down. Inside you will find another corpse and some other items, nothing too revealing. Time to head back to Marvin and report what you have found. He will thank you for your efforts.

Reunited: Find Marvin's Wife
All you need here is access to a Fast Travel Map. Use it to get over to the Makeshift Hospital. Once inside you up to where Cecil is. Head past him and look for the woman with the scarf on. Approach her and interact with her for your character to recognize her.
