Skyrim Sidelines- The Forsworn Conspiracy: At the End of the Tunnel

The tunnel beside his chamber, apparently, leads to a dwarven ruin that connects to the underground of Markarth and provides an exit route.  If you helped him, then follow Madanach, who declares you’ve earned an early pardon, and you can head into the tunnels alongside the others.  While initially the tunnel is dirt and stone, you will all pass through a door into some dwarven ruins- the initial parts are collapsed, but you will come to an area where there are several turning hallways that are fully intact.  Just beyond this spiderwebs will start to pop up- here some Frostvenom spiders are lying in wait.

Deal with the two in sequence and you’ll find yourself returning to an area of Dwemer ruins- you will find some Dwarven constructs here, and depending on your level they may be anything from a simple sphere up to a deadly Centurion.  If you’re on your own then things will be quite tough, but the difficulty can be greatly alleviated by having Madanach and his followers along- they will generally sweep through anything as a whole, between their numbers and their various magicks.

If you’re traveling with Madanach, then a follower of his by the name of Kaie will be at the bottom of the stairs to the external door.  She hands a huge pile of things off to Madanach, who then turns to talk to you.  He thanks you for your help, and gives you everything that belonged to you which was taken when you were thrown into Cidhna Mine.  He also throws in a suit of Forsworn armor that’s been enchanted- the Armor of the Old Gods.  Between the various pieces you will gain a discount on Destruction magic, a boost to your Magicka pool, a boost to your Sneak skill and a considerable increase in Archery while wearing the full set.  It’s not the best set of armor for most, being only a high-end version of Hide armor, but the enchantments are valuable both in power and for learning to use them on other equipment.

If you’re alone, however, you will find nothing here but stairs leading up to a door.

When you exit, Thonar Silver-Blood is waiting.
