Diablo 3: How to Upgrade the Blacksmith

In Diablo 3 for the PC, the Blacksmith (named Haedrig) in New Tristram can be upgraded, allowing him to make better items for you for a nominal fee of gold and resources.

Upgrading the Blacksmith is fairly simple, just requiring you to spend gold to increase his level.

Go to the Blacksmith and you’ll see a tab on the bottom right that says Train. Click on this tab, and you’ll see a button showing how much it costs to train, and in the center of the screen you’ll see what you’ll unlock for the current training.

The higher the level, the more it will cost for each training. It starts at 2,000 gold per training, and goes up to 4,000 at level 2, etc.
