Guild Wars: A Great MMORPG for Everyone!

Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game!

MMORPG is quite a mouthful, but definitely creates an image of how large Guild Wars really is! Yes, Guild Wars is a massive multiplayer game filled with exquisite worlds, thousands of players, and tons of storyline. Better yet, it's free! Much like World of Warcraft, Warhammer Online, Ultima, and other online games, you create a "toon" or character to adventure through a massive landscape to complete quests, missions, and storyline. As you progress, so will your character by increasing experience, gaining important artifacts and weapons, and learning stronger spells that compliment your character's skillset.

Support Expansions Deliver More!

Launched in 2005, Guild Wars has grown to include 3 more expansions. With each upgrade, creator Arenanet created new environments, new quests, characters, items and more! With the full set, you can definitely get lost in this game for hours. Here is a complete list of GW campaigns and their release date:

  1. Guild Wars Prophecies (Original) - April 28, 2005
  2. Guild Wars Factions (2nd Campaign) - April 28, 2006
  3. Guild Wars Nightfall (3rd Campaign) - October 27, 2006
  4. Guild Wars Eye of the North (Expansion) - August 31, 2007
  5. Guild Wars II: (GuildWars II Release Date Pending)
As you can see, ArenaNet & NCsoft have put in a lot of work to make sure the world of Guild Wars blossomed into a massive game with replayability. Adding new dimensions and levels to the game has only increased the player population. If you are considering purchasing Guild Wars, there is no requirement to purchase a previous campaign, except when purchasing Eye of the North. Factions & Nightfall can be played without Prophecies, while EotN is more connected to the original GW.

Character Diversity: GuildWars Classes

Guild Wars offers players the ability to choose from several different skill sets and warrior classes. And to top it off, each player is allowed to customize a secondary class that can be changed in game! Depending on the expansion you are plating, you can choose from the following classes:

  1. Warrior
  2. Ranger
  3. Elementalist
  4. Mesmer
  5. Monk
  6. Necromancer
  7. Ritualist
  8. Assasin
  9. Dervish
  10. Paragon
With the ability to add a secondary class to your character, the combinations of unique spell builds are near limitless. For once, you can be that fire-shooting warrior you've always wanted to be!

Teamwork & Party Formation

Guild Wars is a massive MULTIPLAYER game! That means it is more beneficial to you if you choose to be a little more social with fellow players. Join a Guild or an Alliance and compete against other guilds for points. Friend others and meet them in outposts far away to push further through the game together. If you choose to explore on your own, it is also possible to beat Guild Wars by your lonesome. It may be a little more difficult in certain areas, but GW have allowed you to team up with Heros & Henchmen. Therefore, you'll always be able to party with a group (that won't talk back) and push through the game.

Guild Wars Support & Updates!

Many online games are left to rot, because their developers have moved onto new software or the game has become unpopular. Fortunately, Guild Wars is supported by an excellent team of admins that constantly watch, update, and keep the Guild Wars community thriving. You will always feel confident that a problem will be fixed or a hacker will be banished.
