After dabbling with the Now TV app on the PS4 (which is rubbish if you're wondering), I finally got round to giving Wolfenstein a whirl. It's early days, but so far the shooting feels nice and meaty, which is great. The way the game suddenly changes its look when it snaps to cutscenes is a little jarring, but hopefully this will be less of an issue once I've put more time in.
Yeah, I've been playing Resident Evil HD again. Of course. This time I was attempting to speedrun it with Bratterz. It went pretty well, clocking in at about 2:15:10, but it turns out that having to both talk to people and remember where you're going is more difficult than it looks. Especially if you've forgotten about Forest.
Also, I've been playing Dying Light for review this week. So far it's better than I expected: the best of Dead Island meets Far Cry. Some of it is phenomenally dumb, of course, but that's to be expected.
I haven't been all that well this week, so in between moments of physical discomfort I've been catching up with Telltale's take on the Borderlands universe. And hey, what do you know? It's actually more entertaining than the Borderlands series itself.
Alright, that may be a slight exaggeration, but I had a lot more fun with this first episode than I initially expected, with Telltale successfully blending the series' deranged sense of humour with some unexpectedly touching moments. It's funny, compelling and easy to play when you're not feeling at your best. If you're having an under the weather weekend, think about giving it a go.
I played the new Exo Zombies mode this week and had a lot of fun. Although the A-List cast is massively under-used, with lines repeating way too often, the mode is an awful lot of fun.
But I have to tell you about the complete and utter sabotage one Steven W Burns committed. While capturing footage for our video, Burns popped in to grab another console. While in the process of doing so, the bastard yanked (he says accidentally pulled, I completely disagree) a cable from the capture device, meaning the footage stopped recording and the TV cut to a black screen.
It should be pointed out that, at the time, I was in full beast mode. Top of the table, deadening the undead left, right and centre. Then, nothing. Blackness, controller vibrating across the sofa as I frantically try to undo this heinous act. I return to a screen of a dead man. I could never fully recover. Burns, you smug British asshole.
