There are a bunch of upgrades that will serve you well in the early going in the Batmobile. Improving the car's armour level is a must, and the first couple of tiers are relatively inexpensive. The "Dodge Thruster Boost" is expensive (eight points), but well worth the investment. The boost allows you to do two quick dodges (X/A) instead of one, so if you dodge into the path of a rocket, you can quickly get out of trouble with another.
Improving weapon damage in the Batmobile Weapons section is also a good way of getting through fights quickly, as tank battles towards the end of the game risk dragging on far too long.
Back to TopWhile tempting to use your rockets, EMP or drone hack tools as soon as they're available, they can be far more devastating even at level two. Trying to save your skills and work your way up to higher tiers has a much bigger payoff, especially in later battles when you're severely outnumbered.
Hacking enemy tanks is a major help, but takes a little while to pull off so make sure you keep moving to dodge enemy fire. Higher level hacks also allow you to hack nearby tanks as well as the one you're directly targeting, so make sure you aim at a cluster.
EMP is great for immobilizing a large group of drones and choppers. But make sure you still take out them out after the blast.
Back to TopJust because you're in a tank battle, that doesn't mean you have to remain exclusively in Battle Mode. Later in the game when you have to take part in the Batmobile sneaking missions, it's much easier to escape trouble to return to the Batmobile's regular drive state and flee from trouble, before switching back to its tank form and readying yourself for the fight once again.
Getting accustomed to switching back and forth between drive and battle can be really useful when navigating tight corners and getting out of tricky situations.
Back to TopTake out any drone vehicles you see as soon as possible. Drones have the ability to fire lock-on rockets which can be a real pain to deal with, as they gain momentum the longer they are airborne. The other tanks' attacks are far easier to dodge as their rocket trajectories are much easier to track on the ground.
Back to TopWhen a fight breaks out, you don't have to stay within the designated area (unless you're hacking a mine as part of one of the side missions). You can drive around vast expanses to deal with whatever number of vehicles are thrown your way, so make use of Gotham's buildings to hide behind and limit the directions with which your enemies can attack.
By cutting down the number of entry points for tanks, it means you can take away the element of surprise and restrict the damage done to the Batmobile, and allow you to focus your energy on select targets.
Back to TopFor any tanks which have lights on them, aim your Vulcan gun here and you'll take them out immediately. Don't hold the machine gun fire for too long, as you'll lose your accuracy and won't land the shot, but learning to make these critical hits while saving your 60mm cannon for the more armoured tanks will help destroy more tanks in less time.
