There are several easter eggs in the game, paying homage to other Ubisoft games. Discover them all!
During the Castle Rock music level, the song “Black Betty” by Ram Jam will start playing, with the lyrics being replaced with the gibberish spoken in the Rayman games.
The musical level Mariachi Madness features a version of the popular song “Eye of the Tiger”. Found in the Fiesta de los Muertos level, the song from Rocky features a distinct Mexican mariachi feel.
The WiiU version of Rayman Legends features two unique character costumes you can buy: Nintendo favorites Mario & Luigi. They cost 1 million Lums each.
As a reference to Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell series, many enemies in the 10,000 Lums Under the Sea will be wearing stealth camouflage and Sam Fisher’s trademark tri goggles.
Another music level will play a version of “Woo Hoo” by the 5. 6. 7. 8’s. The popular song heard in Kill Bill and the Vonage commercials is sung as “Gloo Gloo” in this game’s rhythm water level.
If you gather enough Lums in a single level, you will receive a lucky ticket. Lucky tickets can be used to purchase extra levels. Many of these levels are remakes of the levels found in the previous Rayman Origins game.
In addition to buying new levels with Lucky Tickets, you can also use them to unlock special creatures that will automatically gather extra Lums for you after you create a level.
Since Rayman Legends is an Ubisoft game, it uses Uplay Points. You can earn these points by playing through the game, completing levels and earning trophies or achievements. Uplay Points can be used to buy special bonus amounts of Lums.
Stuck on a level? Bring your friends! Work together to figure out how to navigate the level. You’ll only fail the level if all the players lost.
Become intimately familiar with the controls for Rayman. Sometimes, you will only have a split second to escape a hazard. Know which buttons are going to allow you to sprint, jump, and attack. If you are playing on the WiiU or Playstation Vita, you will also want to mess around with the touch screen and tilt controls, as these will be used throughout the game.
Challenges in Rayman Legends have difficulty levels from one skull – easy – to five skulls – most difficult. Starting off with the easiest difficulty not only gets you used to the play style found in Rayman, but it also gives you a chance to learn the level’s layout.
