Watch Dogs, Ubisoft's latest hit, features all kinds of cool hidden collectibles, jokes, and easter eggs. Some of them relate to the most popular trends, some to other Ubisoft games, and some are even in reference to celebrities. Want to find these hidden secrets for yourself? While profiling people in Chicago, you'll probably come across some people whose job is listed as "Former Abstergo employee". There's also a side mission involving one of the Abstergo bigwigs – no spoilers!
In the campaign mission "Wrench in the Works", you'll see Ubisoft spokeswoman and actress Aisha Tyler talking to an NPC. You can see her again during a privacy invasion in The Loop district, in a hotel room. She'll be talking on the phone.
In one of the privacy invasion scenes, you'll see a father and son playing a video game. The son makes a reference to Assassin's Creed.
Pro race car driver Brad Keselowski can be spotted in the game, found randomly walking the city.
In the second mission, go into Aiden's sister's house and find her son playing a game on a tablet. The game he is playing is Ubisoft Child of Light.
If you hack a blank electronic billboard in the game, it will come up with a random message, which is usually related to a popular Internet meme or other phrases from popular culture. Examples – one time it said "I Can Has Cheezburger?"; another time "All Your Base Are Belong To Us". There are dozens of these messages available.
In the mission "Grandma's Bulldog", you will see a bunch of arcade machines in the HQ building. One of them is Far 3 Cry: Blood Dragon.
At one point in the game, you can hack a Microsoft Xbox Kinect to spy on a very angry gamer.
If you use the Internet, you probably know about the popularity of My Little Pony. Developers snuck in some references to the animated show in the form of keychains. There are some Rainbow Dash and Trixie keychains found in random cars throughout the world.
In the mission "Big Brother", go into Jackson's bedroom. You'll see that he has a toy of a Rabbid, those crazy Ubisoft rabbits. You can also catch glimpses of them around the city if you look closely.
Just in case you needed a little horror, images of super-creepy Slender Man can be found as graffiti all around the city in alleys.
In the "Spider-Tank" mission, the spider tank itself closely resembles the Spider-Slayer from the Spider-Man comics and movies.
