Grand Theft Auto V PC: Use Custom Radio Stations and your own music in-game

Grand Theft Auto V PC is out and as PC gamers are finishing up their install they’ll be glad to know like previous Grand Theft Auto games you can use your own music in the game. Grand Theft Auto V comes with a fantastic soundtrack that I still listen to in the car, but if you prefer to use your own music then you can very easily.

Also check: our guide to transfer your characters to GTA V Online PC.

Follow the steps below to use custom music in Grand Theft Auto V:

Step 1: Navigate to the ‘Rockstar Games’ folder inside the ‘Documents’ of your C drive (Windows Install drive). There you’ll find the ‘GTA V’ folder, inside which will be the ‘User Music’. The full path should look something like this:

C:\Users\Your Username\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\User Music

Step 2: Copy the music you want in the game into the folder. MP3 files have been confirmed to work but you can try other format too.

Step 3: Start up Grand Theft Auto V on your PC and enter the ‘Settings’ menu. There you will find two new options not present in the console versions: “Perform Quick Scan for Music” and “Perform Full Scan for Music.” Choose either one, I haven’t personally noticed a difference.

The game will now give you a new Radio Station that will play all your music. For more control over the tracks check out the “Self Radio Mode” which allows you to choose the order of the music played. Feel free to ask us any questions you may have in the comments below.
