World of Warplanes: Escaping Persistent Pursuers

A few weeks ago, we here at browsergamez.com took a closer look at the free-to-play aviation shooter World of Warplanes and extensively tested the game. One of our major points of criticism was that it was quite difficult for us to succeed in standard battles, especially when an opponent targeted and shadowed us. We tried many different ways to survive these moments and found that a few proved to be more successful than others and at least extended our gameplay time for a little while.

Never slow down!

This might sound like a no-brainer, but try to remain as fast as possible without overheating your engine. An overheated engine could be your death sentence.

A moving target is more difficult to hit!

Imagine being in your pursuer’s skin. When is it easier for you to hit a target? Try anything to make it harder for your opponent to hit you and shoot you down. Fly in circles, nosedive, fly as close to trees and mountains as you can without crashing. The more your pursuer has to focus on flying, the less he can concentrate on aiming at you.

Fly closer to your base!

If you still have a difficult time shaking off your opponent, fly closer to your home base. Each team has a base equipped with strong AA-guns that are simply waiting to take down any enemies. Make sure to fly in circles above your home territory and start hoping that your pursuer will be hit and you can have a few moments to breathe and regain your focus.

Ask for help!

One thing that you should always keep in mind is that World of Warplanes is a true MMO and is based on teamwork. As soon as someone persistently chases you, ask your team members for support by pressing the F7 key. This will alarm your allies that you are in need of support. If you are lucky, one of your team members will take down your pursuer.
