Plants vs. Zombies 2: Walkthrough Level 16 of Big Wave Beach

Plants vs. Zombies 2

Plants vs. Zombies 2

Welcome to the hardest level of Plants vs. Zombies 2 ever. Yes, we’ve said that a lot. It was certainly true when we stated it in the past, but this one definitely takes the cake. Why, you ask? Well, you will most likely not be able to make it through the level without relying on a special boost. Believe us, we’ve tried it and never succeeded by simply using our plants and our green leaves. This makes this level the hardest one in Plants vs. Zombies 2, since this has been the first time in the entire tower defense game that we’ve had to use a special boost in order to succeed in a level. But first thing’s first!

The calm before the storm...

Stage 16 of the Big Wave Beach world in Plants vs. Zombies 2 is like a midway boss fight that ends the first part of the update. The level features the conveyor belt that randomly presents one of five different kinds of plants to you. There are Lily Pads, Wall-nuts, Chompers, Tangle Kelps, and Bowling Bulbs. You will have to face regular zombies, Coneheads, Bucketheads, Snorkel Zombies, Surfers, Imp Mermaid Zombies, and the Deep Sea Gargantuar.

This is a pretty ideal setup!

Generally, we tried to stick to one specific setup. We placed the Bowling Bulbs in the very first row from the left and tried to have two rows of them. We also realized that having only one row of Bowling Bulbs on the very first and last lane and up to three in the middle lanes was also quite successful. On the fourth or fifth row we tended to position our Chompers trying to protect them with Wall-nuts wherever we could. Aside from that, we had to be flexible when it came to our setup since the level tended to be quite chaotic overall.

Unfortunately, this is as far as we get without a special buff!

There are a few general tips we can give to make it a little more likely that you succeed. First of all, use your plants swiftly and try to make use of all the plants that are on your conveyor belt. If you don’t need your Lily Pads to position a plant, use them to stall zombies (especially the Deep Sea Gargantuar). Use the Tangle Kelps swiftly to get rid of Bucketheads or Surfers. You will need your green leaf buffs to destroy the Deep Sea Gargantuars who can not be eliminated without them.

In the end, you will unfortunately need to use one of the special buffs that you need to purchase with coins collected in the mobile app. Luckily, we never relied on them, so we had more than enough coins to defend ourselves without having to invest any money.
