Phew, we are quickly nearing the end of the Frostbite Caves, which means that the levels are getting quite challenging. Level 28 has been the first stage of the entire world that we couldn’t beat without relying on our lawnmowers at the end to save the day. It’s not really a failure though, as that is exactly what they are there for anyways. We have come up with a layout that allowed us to not lose a single plant until the last wave of zombies and that also allowed us to defeat at least one of the two Sloth Gargantuars without relying on the lawnmowers.
One of the many difficulties of level 28 is the pesky Weasel Hoarder zombie that we elaborated on in a previous tip. Since you only have 2,500 sunlight to spend in total for this level, every plant has to be thought through. We came up with the following set-up which was the most successful of the ones that we tried:
We recommend planting a lot of Lightning Reeds! As you can see, we chose eight in total. They will make your battle against the weasels and all the other regular zombies a lot easier. In the middle of our army of plants, you will find three Pepper-Pults to help against the icy cold during blizzards. In front of them, we placed three Rotobagas which are also great at defeating big hordes of zombies and weasels. In the very front, we have a flank of Chard Guards to push back any zombies that happen to get too close. With this set-up, you will have another 75 sunlight that you can use to replace one of your Chard Guards.
Don’t hesitate to use up two green leaves before the last big wave, as there will be two more. Try to only use the other leaves after the Sloth Gargantuars show up, as you will be more likely able to destroy them then.
