Plants vs. Zombies 2: General Guide for The Lost City

Plants vs. Zombies 2

Plants vs. Zombies 2

In June and July, the guys and girls over at PopCap launched the latest world for their tower defense game Plants vs. Zombies 2. The Lost City came in two parts – as always – and added many new plants and zombies as well as a new game mechanic which is unique to The Lost City. When we first delved into the jungle setting, we were dumbfounded at how to defeat at least one of the new zombies. In this guide, we want to closely examine the Excavator and Parasol Zombie.

The Excavator Zombie first appears in level 4 of The Lost City. We first focused on planting all of our regular plants, but made sure to include the newly added Red Stinger. This plant is very diverse, as it is more offensive closer to home, but more defensive when it’s planted further away from home. However, the Red Stinger, Bowling Bulbs, or Lightning Reeds did nothing to harm the Excavator. He simply came closer and used his shovel to throw all of the plants that were in his way behind him. The only way you can defeat this zombie is by attacking him from above. A few levels later, you will receive a new plant called A.K.E.E. which lobs projectiles that bounce from zombie to zombie. At this point in the game, you will have to focus on older plants such as Cabbage-pult or Kernel-pult.

Once you get the A.K.E.E. it is not recommendable to only focus on it as your main plant. Level 7 introduces the Parasol Zombie. This fine lady is equipped with a sun-umbrella which prevents her from being harmed from above. She can only be attacked from lower projectiles, such as the ones that the Red Stinger shoots. It is recommendable to keep a fine balance in your line of attack.

The tower defense game is available for Android and iOS devices for free!
