Weak Spots Guide: T14 - World of Tanks Guru

The T14 is the American tier 5 premium “heavy tank” which causes a lot of trouble for new players.  Even though it is labeled as as heavy it only has 50/50/50 hull armor which is very thin even for tier 5 heavies but it does come with 101/101/101 turret armor so avoid shooting the turret!  Front armor is angled at 65 degrees and rear armor at 45 degrees making the front very tough even though it’s armor is very thin in most places.

The index at the bottom of each picture describes a few abbreviations used and also the format in which the armor details are described in. Effective Armor (EA) refers to the overall effectiveness of the armor without normalization.

The armor values are presented in three different scenarios for the angled view of the tank.15° frontal(75° side),  25° frontal(65° side), 35° frontal(55° side), and 45° frontal(45° side).

Frontal View

T14_Front Frontally the T14 is very tough against lower tiered tanks since the lower frontal glacis is actually as tough as the upper glacis.  There are two weak spots for low pen guns and the commander’s hatch a third for guns with 90mm+ average penetration.

Angled View

T14_Angle An angled T14 does increase it’s armor quite considerably but opens up various other weak spots that can be exploited.  Angling is viable since most will still shoot the tougher armor but for those who know these weak spots an angled T14 shouldn’t be much of a problem.

Side View

T14_Side A T14 engaged from the side can still soak up a lot of shells if you do not aim for the USH. Also, avoid shooting HEAT shells at the tracks since they will gobble them up.
