Double Strike

Double Strike

  An excellent passive to harass in the early in the lane.
A powerful technique that works well with Alpha Strike, the idea is to last hit with your base attacks so as to stack your passive to 7 and follow up with an Alpha Strike directly on your target. This will have the effect of teleporting you into melee so that you can do the Double Strike.

Double Strike has a different animation to the base attacks, which can be confusing to start.

When you help your jungler do the monsters you start to charge your passive, use it on your opponent when he is away from his minions.


Alpha Strike (Q)

(Active): Master Yi leaps across the battlefield striking up to 4 enemies, dealing magic damage to each enemy with a chance to deal 400 bonus magic damage to minions.

A technique to use with Alpha Strike is to cast it on a sbire when there are only 3 distance sbires, since the spell touches 4 targets, as soon as your target is close enough you can hit him for sure.

Alpha Strike is an excellent way to quickly farm the jungle thanks to the chance of dealing 400 damage to the monsters or minions.

It is also a good way to engage in fights or to avoid certain abilities because you cannot be targeted for a little while. It's very useful for avoiding skillshots for example.

In the late game you can start a massacre if an opponent dies thanks to this spell, you will recuperate the spell thanks to your ultimate and can fire it out again and kill your opponents.

Be careful, since Yi teleports on the target at the end of the animation your opponent can flash under the tower and stun you, potentially costing you your life!

The spell has a short incantation time.

The damage is dealt at the end of the spell.

The spell does not proc the effect on impact.

This spell can also be used to lose aggro from the tower in a tower dive.

Master Yi can be touched by controlled projectiles if they are cast before the Alpha Strike.

The spell will only touch visible enemies.

If the target dies before the end of the attack animation, Master Yi will find himself back in his original position. This can be useful to harass your opponent, by using it on a sbire who will die before the end of the spell's animation, Master Yi can use it without teleporting on the sbires and risking a retaliation, for that you must sacrifice a last hit and anticipate the death of the sbire.

(Active): Master Yi channels, gaining massive health regeneration, armour, and magic resistance for 5 seconds. Master Yi is also healed at the beginning and end of the channel.

The heal spell that makes your opponents crazy

  Restance and healing.
Master Yi channels to heal himself every 0.5 seconds. The resistance bonus is immediate and lest you resist a hit from a tower or Karthus' ultimate.

Master Yi is very efficient in a tower dive, thanks especially to this spell that lets him tank the tower well.

Meditate lets you restore quite a lot of you HP while making you quite tanky. However the least control (stun, bump, push...) will cancel it. This is whi it is better to use it away from a fight or if you are sure that all the controls have been used.

Once again if you kill an enemy you can use this spell again and so move away from the teamfight a bit to heal, and then come back immediately!

(Active): Master Yi can activate this ability to receive bonus attack damage equal to double the passive bonus for 10 seconds.

Bonus physical damage

  Works well with the passive.
This spell lets you have a bonus of 30 physical damage in the first levels. Activating this spell before using your passive on an opponent can be powerful, especially combined with the bonus of +5 attack damage from ignite.

When your ultilmate refreshes the spell's cooldown the passive stacks with the active, giving ou a bonus of 45 / 60 / 75 / 90 / 105 damage!

Use it when you want to do the maximum damage, otherwise leave the effect passive.

This makes it easier to last hit under the tower.


    Bonus Attack Damage: 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35

Highlander (R)

(Active): Increases Master Yi's movement speed by 40% and attack speed for a few seconds, as well as making him immune to any slow effects for the duration. Additionally, killing a champion during the duration will refresh all of Master Yi's ability cooldowns, while assists will refresh them by half the base amount.

  • Cost: 100 mana
  • Cooldown: 75 seconds

The ultimate that makes Master Yi Ap so strong in teamfight

  Too fast for you?
This ultimate makes you immune to all slows, making it very difficult to chase you. This also makes Master Yi very good against enemy compositions based on slows.

Similarly, engaging a fight under your ultimate ensures that you will be able to stick to your target easily so as to do DPS. Also think about the fact that for every champion you kill, ALL of your abilities are recharged! Meaning you can re-use ALL of them quickly.

Don't re-use your E directly. And as for the ultimate, it is more interesting to use it again when the first has finished!

For the rest, Alpha Strike in AP will let you make other kills and therefore continue to feed yourself.
