Like other MMORPGs or similar titles, this game can get quite intensive and a bit intimidating for those who are playing it for the first time. However, we’ve got you covered in that regard, as we’ve come up with some useful Space Miner Wars tips, tricks and cheats for those who are planning to start building their first space station, or those who may have been playing for some time, but need some help in a pinch.
You can call them quests as they usually are referred to, but in Space Miner Wars, they’re called tasks – you can view them by tapping on the star icon on the top right. Your task long will point you forward in the game’s progression path, and as you complete more tasks, you’ll earn more infinium. That’s the premium currency of the game, in case you’re wondering.
As a bonus tip, make sure you collect your rewards manually after completing a task, as they don’t get counted automatically.
Always have enough defenses in place for your mining base, as that’s the best way to keep other players at bay, as long as they’re positioned smartly. The first line of defense is the shield, which we’ll be talking more about in the next tip; upgrade this by upgrading your Shield Generator building. You should then have more than a few turrets and pods. Hunter pods, in specific, launch hunter drones that attack any enemy ships that may be loitering outside your mining base.
The shield is a very important element in this game, as it soaks up most of the damage you suffer in battles. When you’re not fighting someone else, that’s the only time it will start regenerating, albeit gradually at first; the healing process quickens as you remain damage-free for longer. Keeping those things in mind, you should make it a point to prevent your shield from running out. If it’s running low, you’ll want to look for somewhere to hide while you let the shield regenerate.
Weapons are the most expensive and important upgrade, so prioritize them even if they cost a lot; these improve your main guns. Shield would be next to upgrade, for the reasons we mentioned above. Collectors would be next for your maximum cargo space, followed by Engines for improved ship performance and passive dodge ability, and lastly, Sensors, for improved critical hit chances and ore bonuses. This is just a suggested hierarchy, so feel free to play around as long as you’ve got Weapons prioritized somehow.
The construction times in Space Miner Wars can get to be very tedious. Nobody likes to wait for long, and neither should you, while you’re doing nothing but waiting. What we’re trying to say here is that it would be best for you to go explore and see if there’s something else you can do. For example, there may be another mission in story mode, or another mining node for you to harvest.
Unfortunately, the only time you can expedite construction for free is if the task is a simple one that takes only a few minutes to complete. There doesn’t appear to be any time lapse option here, or if it was, it may have been quickly nerfed.
Your infinium should be treated like most other premium currencies – treat them like something you shouldn’t be spending frivolously. It’s very easy to be tempted to spend some infinium to expedite construction times, but we say resist that temptation. You should be saving that infinium for new builder pods. With one of these (or more), you can build more than one structure at the same time. One builder pod costs 150 units of infinium, while each task will earn you some two to four units; that means it could take a while to save up for a new builder pod, though it will be worth it in the end.
I’m sure you’re having great fun playing this game, we do too, so if you come across any other Space Miner Wars tips, tricks and hints, let us know!
