To succeed in league or head-to-head play, you need to have a strong defensive strategy. Here are some tips on which plays to counter in Madden Mobile 16.

First and foremost, you need to change your counters after each drive during head-to-head play. Review the film, and set your defense accordingly. Also, anticipate your opponent’s tendencies. For instance, if he rushed 100%, then counter possible rushing plays.
To set your Global Defensive Strategy, follow these guidelines:
The QB Sneak is an automatic 2-point conversion if not countered. Even if it is countered, the chances of it converting is pretty high. Counter it to increase your chances of stopping the two.
Everybody knows how to run HB Dive WK and HB Blast. Even at the Hall of Fame tier (HOF), players still test it to see if countered. If it’s not countered, it’ll easily go for six points.
These are easy plays to run and the lower tier players run it a whole lot. Players stop running it upon reaching the mid tiers because it gets countered. Players start testing it again at the HOF because many players stop countering it because players stop running it by the time they reach HOF. Even at the HOF, these are homerun plays if not countered.
These plays are a bit tougher to run. Because it takes some skill, lower-tier players rarely use them to effect. They’re pretty common at mid to high-tiers.
Running these plays effectively requires reading the defense. So, it’s much tougher to run for novice players. Depending on the defense, it could be an easy homerun pass to the HB. If the HB is covered, then the TE or a receiver on a curl should be available. It takes some skill to recognize the defense so it’s not used effectively at the lower tiers.
Counters are ineffective against slants. The best Madden players will run slants 100% and score 8 every time, even if countered. So, don’t waste defensive strategy slots on slants.
Very low yardage play, even if not countered.
Again, the key is to adapt to your opponent’s play style. Be active, review film and set counters after each drive. Global defense is important, but active play is essential for Madden Mobile success. See you on the field!
