Just in time for Rocky fans who can’t wait to see CREED, the latest movie, we have the official tie-in game,Real Boxing 2 CREED.
It builds on the success of its predecessor and there’s lots to take in so we at 148apps thought we’d run you through the basics to help you get started.
Keep on punching
Real Boxing 2 CREED offers many different types of punch. You use taps and gestures to punch and swipe upwards to uppercut.
Left punches are initiated by tapping on the left side of the screen, while right…yup, they’re from the right.
It’s tempting to punch wildly but don’t do it. Early on, that might pay off, but it won’t last long. Instead, plan your moves and keep an eye on your opponent and how they react.
You can guard by holding a button to the left of the screen. Do so, as if you keep getting punched, you’ll end up disorientated and at a disadvantage.
Dodging can be handy too, but don’t go overboard. It’s a similar story with grappling when you’re low on health - don’t rely on this to save you every time.
Planning ahead
You can use coins (gained from fighting) to buy boosts between rounds. These can make quite the difference, but you want to plan carefully. Anticipate what kind of punches you favor and boost those, otherwise it’s a pointless purchase.
Training
Real Boxing 2 CREED offers a few training stages. The punch bag has you performing various punches in a set order. It’ll boost your stats, plus you’ll learn how to get into the rhythm of a fight.
The jumping rope is always about rhythm too, with a kind of Guitar Hero style feel, as you tap in time with skipping.
The Double End Bag is all about speed and precision, with you tapping on circles quickly while you jab. Again, it’s useful for in-game stats, and getting you in the zone.
Log in often
Like so many games, Real Boxing 2 CREED rewards those who check in frequently. Be one of those people. It’s fun, anyhow!
