Smash champs starts out with a short cut scene where you see a miscellaneous animal receive an invitation to a prestigious Dojo. In their excitement, they quickly make their way to the Dojo, however, on the way they are soon subdued by the Sensei of said Dojo, who perceived the animal as a trespasser. Sensei quickly realizes his mistake when he sees the invitation and allows to animal to enter the Dojo freely. after this cut scene, gameplay begins and you are asked to decide on one of six human like animals including a fox, a gorilla, a crocodile, a hyena a polar bear or a jaguar.
Whichever animal you decide to choose will have different statistics which determine their fighting style. The training process doesn’t really vary from animal to animal as their training sessions are largely the same no matter which animal you end up picking.
In the training sessions, the Sensei will throw balls into the air which you will have to hit to send flying back at your opponent, all successful ball hit will improve your chances of winning your actual fight. Once the training session is complete, you watch a cut scene of the actual fight which you are not able to interact with or affect in any way. Once the fight is over, if you have won, you will gain experience.
Smash Champs is a new release from the same developers as Subway Surfers that gives you animal fighters to train with. The game revolves around multiplayer turn based online play starts with the training sessions, which is a lot like Fruit Ninja. Balls fly on screen, and you slash through them hit them away.
Smash Champs is currently running version 1.0.1 and requires your device to be running at least iOS version 6.0 or later. it can only currently be played in the English language. It can be downloaded for free from the app store with the option to make further in app purchases from the in game store. Smash Champs currently has a three and a half star rating in the app store with mixed reviews from users.
There are three different package options in the in game store; you can purchases packages of cash from $4.99 to $49.99. However, cash is fairly easy to earn in the game.
While playing Smash Champs you will probably want some more coins or cash to purchase items and upgrade your characters. That’s why we’ve added the Smash Champs hack to AGC. It has been tested to work and runs on both Android and iOS devices.

There are currently no hacks or cheats available for this game as it is fairly new, however, providing it proves to be popular, I have no doubt there will be one in the future. Since there isn’t really much to this game, I only have a couple of tips to offer in order to maximize your scoring. When your Sensei throws a lot of balls at once, try to get all of them in one shot as you’ll get more points due to the multiplier bonus. As long as you can get a decent score in your training session, you’re far more likely to win your fight. While it won’t really affect your fight, taking advantage of elemental weaknesses will definitely help you out when it comes to winning.
Much like pokemon’s type system, Smash Champs has different elements which are earth, fire, and shadow. Fire beats shadow, Shadow beats Earth and Earth beats fire. By taking advantage of elemental weaknesses allows an extra 10-15 power to your total attack power. The outcome of a match is supposedly determined by three different factors: Your base power, your training results and hitting an elemental weakness. The total of these combined equals your battle performance, so if it is higher than that of your opponent, you’ll most likely end up winning. When hitting your balls, try to use straight slashes as they give you a higher multiplier rate in your training sessions. If you’re familiar with Fruit Ninja, you’ll know precisely what you’re doing in this game.
At first glance, it seems like the Fruit Ninja mashed with Street Fighter and Mortal Combat, however you quickly come to the realization that you can only watch the action part. It’s a confusing game design that presents an overly simplistic game with awesome graphics that don’t match the quality of the game.
Smash Champs is basically Fruit Ninja with an animal covering, however, the same aspects aren’t incorporated anywhere near as well as they are in Fruit Ninja. The patterns of the balls are predictable and you really don’t get a whole lot of satisfaction from throwing them at your animal. The unpredictability of Fruit Ninja is what makes that game fun, and to take that away in a copycat game is just asking for bad reviews and a low score on the app store. The fact that the only part of the game you’re actually able to play is the training session not the fighting, makes this “fighting” game very unappealing and unexciting, you’re essentially just a spectator in the exciting part of the game, whoever thought up that concept was an absolute idiot in my opinion.
The fights themselves are really well animated which makes the fact that you’re not able to participate in them even worse. Sometimes, you can get a perfect score in your training and still manage to the actual fight which makes me think that the outcome of the actual is seemingly completely chosen at random and not based on your scores. This was further proven when my low level fighter won a fight against a level seven fighter and I’m fairly sure my scores were not higher than theirs.
The game itself looks awesome, it has great animation and you can even dress up your animals in fun little outfits. Beyond these features, the game itself really doesn’t have much to it which really makes an iOS gaming aficionado like me incredibly disappointed.
The outcome of your fights is based on your training score, power of your animal and their level, and their element type in comparison with your opponent. When the first screen of the game says, “Watch Them Fight”, it reall doenst automatically give you a good feeling about the game, a feeling which is proven when you see they were serious about letting you watch. You don’t interact with the fighting at all.
Artwork: I give Smash Champs a 8/10 for their artwork. The artwork in this game is pristine, it just a shame that the good graphic were wasted on a bad game.
Music and SFX: I give the game a 6/10 for its music and SFX. Their music and SFX aren’t what I would call terrible, but they aren’t awesome either. They’re copied and very unoriginal, but do fit into the overall theme of the game.
Story and Originality: I give the game a 5/10 for its story and originality. The way the cut scene at the very beginning of the game is presented, it sets up the game to be really awesome and story oriented however this image is quickly ruined. The game itself has next to no originality and is just a straight up disappointment.
General Gameplay: I give the game a 3/10 for its general gameplay. I have to admit, the gameplay in this game was a very bad design choice, it really doesn’t make me want to play more than a couple games because it has so little to offer players.
Addictiveness: I give the game a 3/10 for its addictiveness. To be blunt, this game is terrible and I can’t see myself ever getting addicted to it unless some seriously big changes were made to almost every aspect of the game.
Overall I rate Smash Champs 5/10.
