Ninjago Legendary Ninja Battles Cheats, Guide & Tips

Based on the animated series “Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu”, the Legendary Ninja Battles is a game worth admiring. Designed for children, the game runs directly from the browser and has fairly sharp graphics for a browser-based game.

The four legendary ninjas; Kai, Cole, Jay and Lloyd are sitting together eating eggrolls. There is just one eggroll left and they all decide it goes to the ultimate ninja. Upon which Kai claims to be the ultimate ninja for taming the Fire Dragon. Immediately, you are taken to his imagination of how he defeated the dragon which is the first stage of the game. Then you return to the place where they are sitting where Cole cuts Kai by saying he deserves to be the ultimate ninja for defeating the pirates and their king and the discussion continues. When all of them have explained their adventures and have reasoned why they deserve to be the ultimate ninja (and you have played the whole game in their imagination), their master comes to say that the true ability of a ninja is to save his friends even at the cost of his own life and reminds them the adventure of Zane where he saved them all from the terrors of Laviathan. They all then agree for Zane to be the ultimate ninja and commit to find him. The game ends here. What happens to the eggroll? Nobody knows.

The gameplay is fairly simple and too easy. You can use either A and D keys or the arrow keys to run in either direction and W or up arrow key to jump. Spacebar is used for the attack. Before reaching the boss, you have eliminate the minions on your way. They just take 1-2 hits to go down. When you defeat the boss, you will then progress to the next round aka the adventurous story of the next ninja.

Legendary Ninja Battles Level Guide

Boosts and coins:

There are three coins hidden in the difficult (cough cough) points in each level. Collecting the coins does absolutely nothing other than telling you that you have collected all those coins. But you can boast to your friends that you have completed all the levels with 3 coins.

There are total four boosts in the game which will enhance your power for a limited time. The Speed Boost increases your walking speed, the Heart Refill completes all of your health, Double Damage is self explanatory and the Double Jump allows you to jump twice in the air by pressing the arrow key twice. It can also be done by keeping the arrow key pressed but I have found it to be missing a lot of double jumps. Try to avoid it. Lastly, your player also becomes a super ninja in the last level while fighting against the boss but I was totally unable to spot any difference between him and the player’s normal form except for the flair.

Now I will discuss the detailed gameplay. How to get 3 coins in the stages and which cheats and tricks to follow to easily defeat the bosses.

Level 1: Kai vs The Fire Dragon

In the first level, you have to help Kai to defeat the fire Dragon in order to convert him from a destructive rebel to his tamed pet. The level is pretty easy and you will find the coins lying in the way. You will then head towards an underground temple where the Fire Dragon resides.

The head of the Fire Dragon is protected by a ring of fire. You cannot attack the dragon unless that ring is gone. You will have to light the lamps of the temple to get rid of the fire ring. The dragon throws balls of fire in the direction of the player. You can stand in front of the lamp. When a ball of fire comes, you can dodge the ball which will then proceed in it’s direction and fire the lamp. After all the four lamps located at the corners of the temple are lit, the fire ring from around Fire Dragon’s head will vanish for a limited time. You can then attack his head until the lamps extinguish. You can then repeat the procedure until the dragon is defeated.

Level 2: Cole vs The Pirates

In the 2nd level of the game, Cole is up against the pirates. He has a scythe resembling to that of a grim reaper. Coins are a bit tricky to get in this level. For the first coin, you will find a Double Jump boost on a suspended slab. The above slabs are a bit higher and need Double Jump to go to. The coin is located at the highest slab. The second coin is located in a tunnel which also needs a Double Jump to enter into. You can find the Double Jump boost a little ahead the tunnel and then come back for the coin. Third coin you will find while fighting the boss.

The boss is a pirate lying on the anchor of the ship which is suspended in the air. There are three cannons rooted at the ground which you can fire up using your scythe to attack the boss as he flies in the sky. The cannon will take time to load again. When a cannon is loaded, a green spot appears on it. After taking a hit, the pirate boss turns red for a while and starts throwing three bombs at a time. In this form, he cannot be attacked. Your best move will be to run and avoid his bombs. After a while, some parrots will start flying above the cannon and absorb the bombs. Try to eliminate them as soon as you can. Aye?

Level 3: Jay vs The Fangpyre Robot

Level 3 of the game shows epic adventure of jay who rides a jet to defeat the mighty green robot. You can toggle between autofire on and off by pressing the spacebar key. The coins are fairly easy to collect in this level.
The boss is a gigantic green robotic face which appears at the side of screen. After you have done almost ⅓ of the total damage. He will flee. You will have to catch him again. During the second encounter, he also dashes in the forward direction so you might want to stay in the upper position. Proving himself a sissy despite of his size, he flees the second time and during the third encounter, fires gigantic balls along-with dashes and normal fire. Fairly easy to defeat.

Level 4: Lloyd vs The Overlord:

Lloyd, originally the villain’s son is now with the ninjas. He is also claiming to be the ultimate ninja for beating Overlord in an epic battle and mastering the Spinjitzu move. During his level, you will have to climb a high tower to face the boss. You can easily find one coin along your way to the top of the tower. Second is a bit tricky. You can find it easily though if you explore all possible paths to the top of the tower. Third coin is gained during the battle with Overlord.
Overlord is a poisonous-cloud-spitting dragon who can be easily defeated if you can dodge his clouds. He is fairly hard to hit while he is spitting those ominous clouds but stops for some time allowing you to hit him. While fighting with Overlord, Lloyd uses his special Spinjitzu form which allows him to create a tornado like vortex of his innate energy around himself. He attacks Overlord with energy balls. You can toggle between autofire and no fire using spacebar key.

Level 5: Zane vs The Laviathan

After all of the ninjas have spoken of their bravery reasoning why they are the ultimate ninja and deserve that eggroll. Their master speaks on the behalf of Zane describing his adventure of defeating the Laviathen and addressing him as the ultimate ninja for saving all of them from that evil monster. Upon which they all agree and award him with the title of The Ultimate Ninja.

Zane throws stars at his enemies. There are less minions in the final stage. One coin you can find across your way easily while other two can be won while fighting the boss.

ninjago-legendary-ninja-battles-cheats-tips-5

The Laviathan is a three-eyed marsh plant which pops out of the water repeatedly to attack you. He is a bit harder to defeat than other bosses due to less damage and shorter encounter time. The tip to fight him is keep moving across the screen otherwise you may miss power-ups which pop during a boss fight.

After their master (most probably Sensei Wu) does the decision for them, all the ninjas agree for Zane to be the ultimate ninja and determine to find him.

Ninjago Legendary Ninja Battles Tips, Cheats and Tricks

Here are some of the tips and cheats I found to be helpful while playing the game.

Kill minions from behind. It will save you from any possible damage from them. They do not turn around unless attacked so it is fairly easy to jump across them and attack from behind.

Even better than attacking from behind, do not kill the minions. Learn to avoid them. It will save you a lot of time and health. There may be some places where killing them might be necessary but a lot of times, you can just avoid them. But if you are going to go through a path repeatedly, it will be wise to eliminate them once and for all.

During this game, Defense is your best attack. In Ninja Battles, the attacks of enemies are slow and you can easily dodge them. Try not to get killed. If you are being unable to attack the boss, keep dodging his attacks. You will find a way to attack him eventually. No matter how slowly you kill the boss, it is always better (and mostly faster) than killing him in second attempt.

ninjago-legendary-ninja-battles-cheats-tips-6

Remember: everything in the game is there for a reason. Well, almost everything! So if you see a suspended slab causing detour from the original path, follow it. There maybe a coin at the end of the way that the slab leads to. If you are being unable to catch a coin and there is a Double Jump Boost lying nearby, you should think a way of using that boost to get the coin.

Try to get most out of the power-ups. They are pretty much useless in the regular game (except from the double jump boost) but can be deadly against the bosses. If a Double Damage boost shows up during a boss fight while the boss is unexposed, wait for him to expose himself before you catch the boost so that you can attack with double power for more time. If you get speed boost during the normal level, try to cover as much distance as you can to reach to the boss fast and so on.

Legendary Ninja Battles Review

I find the game very beautiful for a browser-based game. The graphics are amazing. The animations when you get the boosts or get attacked are colorful and smooth. Everything from background to the slabs, minions to their movements and attacks and the bosses. Hats off to the graphics team.

Being on the Cartoon Network platform, there are relatively very less of those annoying ads, one thing of Cartoon Network website I have always admired. There is just one ad at the left side and that’s it. The game is swift which is another good thing. Apart from the initial loading, you don’t have to wait for anything.

There are things though in which the game is clearly inferior. The game is terribly small and extremely over-simplistic. I mean I finished the game in one sitting without even dying once. No kidding! and one thing I am sure of is that I am a sloppy gamer. A game stays interesting as long as it is challenging and you haven’t finished it. The moment the game is finished, Boom! it is forgotten. By this formula, Legendary Ninja Battles will be forgotten within an hour. If the developers had to make a game this small, they must have put some loop in it. I mean something like challenging your friends, earning badges or one to one battles.

Rating:

Artwork: Graphics are amazing. Animations are sharp and smooth and really impressive for a browser based game. 4.5/5

Story and originality: There is no story, all the story and characters have been taken from the animated series and the only thing added to the story is an eggroll. ⅖

Addictiveness: As I said, there is no charm in a game once you have finished it and you can literally finish this game in less than an hour. ⅖

Overall score: 3/5
