Gameplay: When it comes to gameplay, Pirate Kings is a very fun game, although there has been a lot of issues lately with connecting to the Internet and logging into your account. The developer has been having server issues within the past month (2016) that has left some people unable to login for days at a time. Hopefully this glitch gets fixed soon because it can hinder playing the game or getting your friends logged into play with you. Otherwise, the gameplay is very fun and addicting because you can keep spinning the wheel whenever you want. If you have some time in the day you can spin the wheel and quickly upgrade your Ship to the next level without even thinking about it. There are no real glitches in the game that stop you from stealing or looting from other players and the attack battles are really interesting. This game is a solid 7/10 on gameplay, even with the server issues going on, and that is mostly due to just how fun and interesting the strategy used in this game is.
Music: The music in this game is very nice and it’s not too upbeat or annoying. It gets you in the mood to go on a mission and just grab all the gold you can, by that I mean it really pumps you up to just go out there and get to work. It’s not a calming music but it’s also not this loud in your face music that makes you want to quit the game either. It reminds you of something you would expect to hear if you were on a ship or in the middle of nowhere about to go to battle. The music gets a 9/10 because it’s fun and energetic and stays fairly in the background, which is good because it doesn’t throw you off your game.
Overall: Although Pirate Kings is having a few server issues as far as Facebook and connecting with friends is concerned, this is still a great game to download if you want a strategy game that doesn’t require much thought. It’s fun to sit there and earn piles of gold and create your own ship and flag. It’s also fun to sit there and battle on these Islands playing both a defense and offense at the same time. You can spend hours on this game trying to conquer the Seven Seas and uncover and unlock all of these Islands and collect all of these valuable items. The content rating says moderate gambling, but as long as you don’t purchase items in-app, it all stays a fun fantasy game without real life consequences. I give this game a solid 8/10 because it’s fun and you can pick up and play whenever you want. You will find yourself not wanting to put the game down because it’s just exciting to spin the wheel and play the mini games while unlocking items and Islands.
