There is a lot of fun in Galaxy Online 3 because you are basically continuing where you left off in the Galaxy Online series, which means you are moving into a newly ravaged galaxy that has been torn up by war. You will not have a lot of resources to work with and you have Corsairs around which have destroyed various planets and colonies. There are also aliens that are hiding in wait throughout the game that you will have to fight off as well, so there is a lot of action going on all over the place. You can build your own fleets, then design the ships yourself by choosing various weapons, engines, hulls, and even bringing in a special Captain. Throughout the game you will notice that you can pick different Captains based on the fleet you are using, and each Captain has certain skills that help out certain fleets.

There is also the fact that you have missions you can go on which are designed to help you move up in the game. You have to track down and kill various space aliens and pirates and the pirates have hidden away designs that you need to find. These designs are part of new technology within the game that you can unlock and use to build yourself some really high-tech ships. When you get the new ship with the better technology, you will also need to make sure you are using the right Captain to take charge of the ship, so there is a lot of strategy to the game in this department.

As you progress through the game, you will be given the chance to recruit even more Captains, which can sometimes be done by winning battles. You will have Captains coming up to you after you win and wanting to join your Federation, so take advantage of this and try to get all of the Captains to come over to your team. Since the Captains all have different skills and special training, you want to collect as many as you can to help you with your fleets, especially as you get into the new technology and upgrade your ships.

What I found to be one of the best parts of this game was the variety of ways you can upgrade your resources, which makes the game even that much more enjoyable. If you would rather not pay for the upgrades using Space Bux, you can siege resources from other players, which is really fun and makes for a great competition amongst the community. If that’s not your style you can also upgrade the production buildings to make your production rate higher, which also allows you to upgrade your resources and items quicker. When you do that you want to make sure you are also upgrading your Science building as well, so that you can get the new technology quicker as well. Personally, I enjoy having a variety when it comes to how I can upgrade my items, because if you just have to buy them or fight for them, it gets boring very quickly. Knowing there are many ways to get to the same end goal really helps you put more thought into your strategies to obtain those upgrades, and also ensures you have fun along the way without feeling like you are doing the same thing over and over.

Player Vs. Player

Another exciting aspect of Galaxy Online 3 is that you can do player-vs-player matches, which allow you to play both daily league matches, and weekly championship tournaments. You can also fight with other players for resources and take over enemy battles on the field, which all earns you points and abilities to upgrade your fleet and weaponry. In when you are playing player-vs-player, you are mostly going against the other players and taking their resources or getting in between their battles, so it’s not like you are friends with the people you are playing with. The main goal in this game is to try to make the best Fleets, get the biggest armada, have the best technology and weapons, and destroy everyone in sight. That is really the most entertaining part of this game is that the focus is on you as a player, and how well you can use various strategies to build the best products available, and to persuade all the other Captains to join up with you.

The Building Functions

Throughout the game you will find out that not all of your buildings do the same thing, since most of the buildings have a specific purpose. The Capital is where you can go to upgrade other buildings and also control the various construction aspects of your buildings on the planet. The Guild Office is where you can join or create your own Guilds and also change or access the various features of the Guilds. You have a Science Institute which is where all the research happens and you can get increases to the length of time it takes to come up with new technology. You have a Trade Center where you can buy the highest-value items from the Black Market or you can purchase materials like Metal by trading in your Gold. Obviously the Ship Factory is where all the war ships are made, which is probably one of the most important buildings on your planet. You have the Academy where you can go and hire the Captains and also buy certain items you need using your earned Relics. If you have a destroyed ship or a ship that needs repairs you can take it to the Hangar. You also have a Research Facility, which is where you go to upgrade your technology, go to find new blueprints and also research into the new technology you might be able to use during battle.

AGC Overall Ratings

Gameplay- The gameplay in this game is really good because you feel like you are in your own virtual world as you create your own armada and fleet and hire Captains to man your ships. It’s fun because everything in the game relies on you as Commander making the right choices, which means knowing what buildings and items need upgraded first and using strategy to win battles in order to make that happen. You feel like you are in control the entire time because there is no lag or glitches that cause you to do something unintentionally. Everything is very clear and you have the ability to hunt down aliens that come out from all directions. I have to give this game a 9/10 as far as gameplay because when you feel like you are literally in your own little world, you know the game is really good and captivating to the eyes and ears.

Sound- When you play Galaxy Online 3, you will really enjoy the music throughout the game, especially the sounds when it comes time to do battle and defend your planet against enemy invaders. You get pumped up and it makes you ready to fight to defend your home, but it’s not overwhelming music and sounds that make it hard to concentrate. You will enjoy the music since it changes depending on what you are doing in the game and it’s very Science-Fiction like without being annoying or too over-the-top. You don’t need to turn down the volume or turn the volume up because you will find that it’s just the right music do battle or play vs another player in challenge mode. I give the sound an 8/10 just based on how well the music goes with the theme of the game.

Overall Review- What I loved most about this game is that you can customize your planet to whatever you want it to be and there is no right or wrong way when it comes to designing your ships or picking your Captains. Obviously you want to do everything in your power to upgrade all of your items so your armada and Fleet is the best out there, because you want to be respected in the Federation Council. If you like war games or games that have a premise about needing to build your planet up after an invasion, then this is a game you will truly enjoy, a solid 9/10 in overall ratings.
