The main protagonist of all of LINE Corporation is LINE, the love of his life is Sally and she has been kidnapped in LINE Rangers. In order to rescue Sally back from the evil Alien Army, LINE cannot do this by his own, so he also asks his amazing friends to help him as well. In LINE Rangers, LINE’s friends and LINE himself will be transformed into rangers! You will see a completely different side of the LINE characters in LINE Rangers. Besides incorporating the original characters in this game, you will also meet tons of new characters with each update. In order to make the LINE Rangers stronger to defeat the Alien Army, you will need to use the upgrade system of the Rangers to evolve. You can upgrade your Rangers to as high as 8 stars. You can also invite your friends to play with you in LINE Rangers as well! You will not only get a sweet bonus treat when you invite them, but when you are in trouble when battling the Alien Army, you are able to summon them to your aid.

You do not need to have an internet connection to play LINE Rangers, however, it is suggested that you have Wi-Fi on for improved gameplay graphics. In each level, you would want to attack the Alien Army enemy to destroy them and their tower. When you destroy the tower, it means that their health points are down to zero as well. After you win a stage or a level, you will be rewarded with experience points, gold, or even an in game item to use during battle. There is an extremely small chance that you will be awarded a treasure, but don’t let your hopes down! When you receive experience points, you get to advance through the level and level up. When you play more every day, you will be given more “minerals” to use in LINE Rangers. You need to use minerals to employ a ranger unit to fight with you. The star rating in LINE Rangers consists of 5 different levels. You can exceed the default max level of LINE Rangers up to 4 times in the game. The ranger’s star rating tells you how well the ranger will perform in battle and what their default max level is. It is said that the higher the star rating, the better the ranger will be. In order to exceed the default max level of the LINE Rangers, you will need to obtain the same exact ranger and combine them together. The 1 star max level is 20, the 2 star max level is 30, the 3 star max level is 40, the 4 star max level is 50, and finally, the 5 star max level is 60 in LINE Rangers. A common misconception in LINE Rangers is that you can make your rangers speed by leveling them up. This is not true, as the only way to make their move speed faster is by obtaining the rangers that has a faster quality. In the beginning of the game, you will get rangers with slow, very slow, or normal speed types. You would want to make sure further into the game that you get a faster ranger team.

The next four classes are health, attack, splash, and balance. The health rangers have more health than any other rangers in different classes. They will take the most damage for the team during the battle. The attack rangers have the most attack points against the Alien Army enemies. However, because they have a lot of power, they do not have a lot of health. The splash rangers are generally the rangers who can attack multiple enemies at one time. They usually only hit whatever is the closest and around them. Like the attack rangers, the splash rangers also do not have fairly high health. The speed rangers are just as their name suggests. They are the fastest rangers in all the classes. So if you want a fast attack, you would want them. And finally, the last class is the balance rangers. The balance rangers in LINE Rangers are hybrids. They are a mix of all the other classes, so they might have a higher health, superior speed, or anything else. However, they are not always born with good abilities and they are typically not better than a ranger that are specifically in that class, such as attack.

Overall, LINE Rangers is certainly a game that you should check out. It has many interesting concepts such as battling Alien Army, saving Sally the duck, and multiplayer battle with your friends! There are so many things to do and harvest and learn in this game that you would never be bored with this game. For example, you can also “farm” or “fish” out the rare or cards that you don’t have on hand yet. Even if you get a replica of the same card you have on hand, you can use that to help you maximize the default star level in LINE Rangers.

Review

LINE Corporation has yet exceeded my previous expectations of them. LINE Corporation always makes cute and attractive games, yet they still focus on the overall gameplay of the games they make. Their newest addition, LINE Rangers, is a great action game that no one has foreseen coming. I loved and enjoyed seeing the mascots of LINE Corporation in LINE Rangers, it gave me a nice familiarity and made me want to play this game more over the other games I have.

The artwork is as always, on point. It is very clear and sharp, while also very cute and clear on what the artist is trying to depict to you in the game. You do not have to guess what animal or what the object is in the game. Another thing is that this game features a multiplayer battle, where you do not have to play by yourself. This is great because oftentimes, it gets very boring when you only play in the solo mode in one game. When you invite your friends, you not only help LINE Corporation advertise for their game, you also receive help from them when you are in a tight spot in a battle.

The music and sound effect was very nice. I loved hearing the sounds when I attacked and successfully defeated the enemy. I also think that the storyline overall was very good, since it was very original. Although it did feature a typical archetype, damsel in distress, as seen in many other popular games such as Mario by Nintendo, LINE Rangers is still fun to play regardless. You do not need the internet connection to play, but it is suggested to be turned on so you can enjoy the enhanced graphics and gameplay. I tried playing it offline and I saw no difference in the graphics nor did I have any problems with the gameplay. It all went very smoothly.

Overall, I believe that if you are a fan of LINE Corporation games, than you would very much enjoy LINE Rangers. It will be a great addition in your game collection and you can also see another side of the LINE mascots since they transform when they go rescue Sally. The graphics, music, and gameplay was all smooth and LINE Corporation is quick to fix their bugs and glitches, so no one player will not have an enjoyable time in the game.

Ratings

Artwork: LINE Rangers artwork receives a rating of a 10/10. All the colors are bright and crisp, it wasn’t hard to depict what was what and who was who throughout the game. Even if you turn the darkness of your screen down to the lowest and with no lights on, you can still tell each characters from each other. The background in LINE Rangers is also very vivid and clear. I love the simplicity but also the interface of the game. It resembles a puzzle game, yet this is an action game. LINE Corporation successfully merges the two genres together.

Music & SFX: The music & SFX of LINE Rangers receives a rating of 10/10. I’ve played a lot of LINE Corporation games, and I have to say none of their games sounds the same as the one before them. All of their games are unique and have their own distinct feature. One thing about the music and SFX is that you can reminiscent about the LINE mascots when playing LINE Rangers. This is because the company brought out the original voices and sounds of the characters to show the LINE Corporation fans that they haven’t forgotten about them even after their great success!

Story & Originality: The story and originality for LINE Rangers receives a rating of 8/10. I felt that although the successfully delivered a great storyline featuring the most common and popular archetype, the girl in distress, they failed to deliver something original. I did enjoy how they included the original LINE Corporation’s characters such as LINE, Sally, Brown, Cony etc!

General Gameplay: The overall general gameplay for LINE Rangers receives a rating of 10/10. There was no noticeable bugs or glitches seen throughout LINE Rangers.

Addictiveness: The addictiveness factor for LINE Rangers receives a rating of 8/10. Besides the battling factors in LINE Rangers, you can also experience solo battle and multiplayer battle, where once you completed all the levels in the game, you can switch to the multiplayer battle where you can experience a whole new gameplay! For this reason, LINE Rangers receives a rating of 10/10.

The overall rating for LINE Rangers receives 9/10! Everything was near perfect and on point.
