Have you ever wanted to pit your favorite superheroes and super villains against each other in the ultimate battle to see who is the most powerful of them all? Yeah, so have I, and Injustice Gods Among Us finally allows you to do exactly that. Injustice Gods among Us is the mobile version of the hit console game of the same name that sold over 400,000 copies in April 2013 when it was first launched. This mobile version has been available since then but has been updated over time with new content and features, and still looks fantastic for a game that is over 2 years old. Injustice Gods Among Us has received over 10 million downloads on Apple iTunes and the Google Play Store and has an overall rating of 4.4 out of 5 stars.
In Injustice gods Among Us you will take part in epic three on three battles, using all of your favorite DC superheroes and super villains. This game is free to play and unlike many free to play games, it is entirely possible to play through the entire game and unlock everything without spending a dime. The superheroes and super villains in the game are represented through cards which you can collect more of by either buying the specific characters that you want using the in game currency, or by purchasing packs which have randomly selected cards in them. The game play is fairly simple, mainly made up of tapping and swiping on the screen to perform your various attacks. each character has their own set of moves, stats, and super abilities, which makes experimenting with different hero/villain team combinations very fun and it helps keep the game from getting stale.
Injustice Gods Among Us can be connected to both your Google Play Games and your Warber Bros accounts. Connecting it to Google Play Games allows you to 38 different achievements and cloud saving so that you can sync your game file up with numerous devices. Connecting this game to your Warner Bros account allows you to unlock various skins and icons in the console version by completing tasks in the mobile version, as well as earning rewards in the mobile version from completing tasks in the console version. I felt that this was a nice feature that the developers added and it should be something more developers look into in the future for their mobile tie in games for their console titles.
When you first start Injustice Gods Among Us, you will be given three random bronze ranked characters to begin with. Characters in this game will either be bronze, silver, or gold, with bronze being the weakest and gold being the strongest. The controls are quite simple, tapping the screen will fire off faster, weaker attacks, swiping the screen will use longer, more powerful attacks, holding down two fingers on the screen will make your character block, and performing combos of swipes and taps will power up your super moves. Super moves are unique to each character and will do more damage than anything else, usually managing to knock out your opponent in a single hit.
Each character has three different levels to their super moves which can be leveled up as you progress farther into the game. Each character also has alternative versions of themselves which have different stats and move sets, making it possible to have a team of three different versions of Superman or Batman, if that is what your heart desires. As you play through the game you will fight against different teams of three superheroes and super villains in each level and every few levels you will be faced with boss battles against more powerful boss characters which will earn you greater rewards when defeated compared with the regular characters. Each character card that you have will have its own energy level that will go down each time it is used and will need to be recharged over time in order to use the same character again. This can make the game slightly frustrating if you do not have many characters but becomes fairly easy to manage once you have started collecting more and more characters.
Injustice Gods Among Us is a free to play game, although it can be played through completely without spending any real money. However doing so will require quite a bit of level grinding once you reach later stages of the game as the more powerful characters that you will need to complete these levels are quite expensive.
While the level grinding can be a bit annoying, I still appreciate that the developers made everything able to be played and unlocked without any need for in app purchases.
Injustice Gods among Us is currently sitting at version 2.4 and works on both android and ios phones and tablets. It does require that you own either an android device with android version 3.2 honeycomb or later or an ios device running ios 5.0 or later, which gives it a very large pool of compatible devices, although it is quite a graphically demanding game so older devices may not fare too well while playing it, which may lead to a laggy and subpar gaming experience.
There are several in app purchase options available in injustice Gods Among Us which are used for refilling your cards energy or for purchasing more coins. For energy purchases the is a $1.99 option that will get you 20 energy, a $4.99 option that will get you 60 energy, and a $9.99 option that will get you 140 energy. For coin purchases there is a $1.99 option that will get you 12,000 coins, a $19.99 option that will get you 192,000 coins, and a $99.99 option that will get you an astounding 1,500,000 coins. You also can purchase each character outright although I do not recommend this as it can get insanely expensive, as in $20 for just Batman. Unless you just have to play as your favorite superhero or super villain from the start of the game, I highly suggest that you just play the game without in app purchases as you will still be able to unlock everything you want without them, it will just take you a longer amount of time.

There are quite a few cheats, tricks, and strategies for Injustice Gods among Us that have been discovered over the past couple years by players around the world.
If you need more energy you can just change the date or time on your phone or tablet which will trick the game into thinking that the correct amount of time has passed for your energy to refill. If you are having trouble killing the gold or silver ranked characters, you can try using the silver Green Arrow, combined with two characters that have their third super move unlocked. The silver Green Arrow has a freeze arrow attack that will freeze your opponent in place. You then switch to one of your other characters and use the third level of your super move on them which will be able to easily defeat your opponent.
To easily gain more money, fight Bane over and over using Night Wing and use your special attack on him, this is easy to do and will gain you a lot more money than you could get otherwise.
If you own the console version of the game, there are quite a few exclusive, unlockable items that you can get from playing the mobile version. These rewards and how to obtain them are – Batman Beyond – Obtain any Batman character card, New 52 Green Lantern – Complete a Bonus Battle in Injustice Mobile, Knightfall Bane – Rate the game, Arkham Harley – Obtain any Joker character card, Bane Background – Collect 5 character cards in Injustice Mobile, Solomon Grundy Background – Collect 10 character cards, Superman’s Cape Background – Collect 15 character cards, Bars of Gold Background – Collect 30 character cards, Killer Frost Background – Evolve a character card to max, Wonder Woman Icon – Complete a battle in Injustice Mobile, Green Arrow Icon – Complete 10 battles in Injustice Mobile, The Joker Icon – Complete 25 battles in Injustice Mobile, Doomsday Icon – Complete 40 battles in Injustice Mobile, Superman Icon – Complete the Tutorial, Wonder Woman Portrait – Login once to Injustice Mobile, Green Arrow Portrait – Login 5 times (counts once per day), The Joker Portrait – Login 10 times (counts once per day), Doomsday Portrait – Login 20 times (counts once per day), Superman Portrait – Login 30 times (counts once per day), Hidden Reward – Complete ALL Battles in Injustice Mobile.
I personally thought that Injustice Gods Among Us was incredibly fun to play and fairly addictive. The graphics were fantastic and most everything in the game looked very nice and premium besides some of the menus. Some of the menus had a very cheap look to them and just simply did not seem to fit in with the rest of the game and I’m not sure how or why the developer would miss out on a detail like that in such an otherwise well put together game. I appreciated how the developers made the game actually free to play, with everything in the game being playable and unlockable, unlike how in other free games where the more premium content is only available via in app purchase. Although you unfortunately will be forced to level grind for money if you want to play as some of the better characters, there are strategies for doing that faster that I have listed in the cheats and tricks section of this review. I really liked the uniqueness that each character brought with their own stats and moves, and I especially liked the alternate versions of the character, as it added a lot more playability to the game. The levels and game play however was pretty repetitive, although the beautiful visuals and the entertainment value you receive from watching superheroes and super villains beat the snot out of each other made up for that somewhat.
Injustice Gods Among Us ran very smoothly on my phone with very little lag or stuttering overall. While the game play was slightly repetitive, I greatly enjoyed playing it and I highly recommend this game to any fans of superheroes or fighting games.
Artwork: I give Injustice Gods Among us a 8/10 for artwork. The visuals in the game are outstanding even by today’s standards even though it is over two years old. The graphics were highly detailed and the overall dark, shadowy coloration that was given to the game really helped give it the darker feel that the developers were going for when they created the game. My only problem with the artwork in this game is how several of the menus looked out of place and poorly made, that is however just a small nitpick that does not really affect the overall game play.
Music and SFX: I give Injustice Gods Among Us a 9/10 for music and SFX. The music really helped give an overall dramatic flair to the game as well as being very well made and exciting. The sound effects also really helped make the game more immersive as each character had their own unique sound effects which I felt was a very nice touch.
Story and Originality: I give Injustice gods Among Us a 5/10 for story and originality. There was not really any story incorporated into the game at all which I found pretty disappointing. There are also quite a few fighting games with similar game play available so this title was not the most original in terms of game play.
General Gameplay: I give Injustice Gods Among Us a 8/10 for general gameplay. The game was easy to play and was quite a lot of fun, although it got repetitive fairly quickly due to the lack of a story and the levels all being so similar. The game was still very exciting and entertaining and I particularly liked how you could bring teams of three characters to your fights instead of picking just one like in most other fighting games.
Addictiveness: I give Injustice Gods Among Us a 10/10 for addictiveness. The quick paced, button mashing game play was very easy to play and very addictive as well. The game is quite easy to pick up and play, but also very hard to put down once you do.
Overall I give Injustice Gods Among Us a 8/10
