As you can find out right from the title, Soccer Stars it’s a soccer-themed game created by Miniclip, a company which does not need special presentations because it is known for thousands of games. The game has 4 and a half stars out of 5 on Apple App Store and 4.3 out of 5 on Google Play Store. It can run without a problem on iOS 6 or later and on Android version 2.3 and up but you can try and install it on older versions, it might work. The game was downloaded for more than 50 million times on both platforms and it is very popular among mobile devices users.
In Soccer Stars you take the role of the manager-player of a 5-discs (which are your players) team that competes with other 5-discs teams for Coins and glory. There are different types of lets-call-them-maps with different sets of rules but mostly your goal is to score first the required amounts of goals to win – simple as that. You will find out that the game has a lot more to offer such as achievements or a level-up system but you should try it yourself.
There are a lot of mini-games that gives the game versatility and a very “soccerish” atmosphere. Every day you get a “Spin and Win” chance that gives you different prizes. You can also collect different surprise packs (Bronze Packs – up to 20.000 coins and Uncommon Teams, Silver Packs – up to 50.000 coins and Rare Teams and Gold Packs up to 200.000 coins and Mega Rare Teams + a Mini Game guaranteed) that are filled with coins and team parts (you need 4 different parts of the team logo in order to unlock that team) – doing this reminds me of children collecting Baseball Cards or Soccer Cards in Europe. There are also some “Scratch and Win” tickets that can also make you rich.
The premium resource of the game is simple called Bucks and can be bought with real money starting from $2.99 and going up to $199.99. Coins can also be bought if you are tired of grinding or you lost them all on a match. There are a lot of special offers too – the most popular ones are buying the kits of Barcelona and Liverpool.
Soccer Stars does not require a Sign-Up and you can play as a guest but I would recommend signing (you can do it with your Facebook Account, Google+ Account or even your Miniclip Account) because it will save your game progress and ensure no data is lost in case of changing devices or something like that. Ads can become pretty annoying at some point but at least they only appear in the Game Menu so they don’t disturb your soccer game.
While Soccer Stars is a great game to be playing, it requires you to have a lot of gold and cash to get the items and upgrades you need in the game. Cash and gold can be purchased through the app store, but it costs real money, and a lot of people cannot afford to keep making these purchases. Due to the popularity of the game, we here at AppGameCheats have decided to add a free hack tool for Soccer Stars Online, which gives you unlimited amounts of these items for free.
If you look at the image below, you will notice the setup of the hack tool, which is really easy to use. All you have to do is enter the amounts of gold and cash that you want to add to your account right there in the options menu.
First, you need to download the free Soccer Stars Online hack tool, which is available right here on the website. You then need to select either Android or iOS, and then type in how much gold and cash you would like to add to your gaming account.
Finally, when you are ready, press “Start” to begin the hack tool for Soccer Stars Online, which takes around 30 seconds to finish. Once that has completed, simply open up the app on your device and the items will have already been added to your account. Using our free hack tool gives you all of the cash and gold that you want for free, and that allows you to focus on the game instead of on trying to find ways to collect the amounts you need for upgrades.
You don’t always have to hit the ball. If hitting the ball may bring your opponent to advantage you can simply stall and pass your turn.
Don’t forget about your defense. The only good reason of getting your goalkeeper (the disc that guards your net would be more exact) out of your goal is when you can score with him 100%.
Use 2 fingers for more accuracy and dynamism. It is not very hard to get used to it and it will definitely help you.
Because of the mechanics of the game you must bet an amount of Coins each time you play so make sure you are ready to lose that amount of Coins before you join a match with a superior fee – I know you are an awesome player but mistakes can happen.
Always get free coins when available (from 15 to 15 minutes) and do your free spin daily. The coins will add up in no-time.
Don’t play a high-stake game with a new formation. Get familiar with your formation type before getting in a big match. It will save you nerves and money. Think of the game like a game of chess.
Learn the mechanics of Soccer Stars (in this case – angles). This time I want you to think of the game like a game of Air Hockey. Use the margins and the corners in your advantage.
The tournament drafts are pretty random so the odds of encountering an opponent with a much higher level is very likely so be ready to face them.
Because the tournaments involve a larger amount of players, your time of playing in a tournament game is limited (there is more than enough for you to win, don’t worry). If your time is up you will not be able to perform any moves after that so waiting until the last second of every turn wouldn’t be a great idea.
Possibly Cheat: If you have a friend or another mobile device that can run Soccer Stars and your daily challenge does not involve a tournament you can play against yourself or your other buddy in order to complete the challenge much faster because the game will perceive the friendly match like a normal one and will act accordingly.
Being a big fan of Soccer myself I was very eager to play Soccer Stars. I was pleasantly surprised by the design of the game (who cares my players are not human models) because it reminded me of old soccer games on different game platforms that now are probably antiques and displayed in a museum along with those games but not Soccer Stars because this game looks great and modern and it’s offering you an awesome experience.
I love that the game is multiplayer and you can challenge your friends. You can chat with opponents only by using pre-defined phrases (such as Well-Played, Sorry) because nobody wants saltiness in their game. Another nice feature in Soccer Stars is the ability to rematch with the same opponent if both of you agrees –make it a best of 3 or why not a best of 5.
What I liked about Soccer Stars in particular was that the game was not pay-to-win. Buying stuff with money would only help you cosmetically. There were a few Formations that could have been bought with money but the tactics depended entirely on your play style – a 100% winning formation didn’t exist so the real money didn’t influence the game. However this changed with the latest patch – each team now has 3 attributes (Time, Force and Aim) and they are better or worse (depending on how expensive the team is). The most powerful in-game teams are Liverpool and Barcelona which can only be bought with real money followed by the Premium Teams which can be bought with Bucks. One other thing that disappointed me is that the teams now have “salaries” of 20% of your winnings meaning that you will not receive the full amount of coins regardless of the team you have (even the basic ones).
Artwork: Soccer Stars gets 8/10 here. It is odd to rate a game’s artwork when the game is not popular for his artwork and it never intended to be. Soccer Stars is not about fancy 3D Engines or complicated designs. There are 10 puck-shaped players with different logos drawn on them that are chasing a 3D Ball on a 2D-Soccer Field – nothing less, nothing more. I also liked the fact that each field is representative to the country from which it belongs (for example South Africa looks sandy while in Russia there is snow on the field). The game’s artwork is simple but beautiful.
Music & SFX: I give the game 9/10 for its music and sound effects. I believe that the music is well-chosen because it sounds good, optimistic and modern and I also really like the fact that the music is present only in the game menu letting you concentrate in-game. The sound effects on the pitch sounds perfect – you will always remember that you are not playing with real players because of the SFX and I think that this is nice (it would be weird to hear buttons talking or making human noises). However, the presence of fan chants and reactions to the game are very funny and well-placed. A lot of developers should take lessons from Soccer Stars.
Story/Originality: The game gets here 8/10. A game with a theme like Soccer cannot be original no matter what. The developers took a different approach with this game because they made it look vintage and modern at the same time. Being a multiplayer only game Soccer Stars does not have a story but because of its nature I don’t think it needs a story. The only reason I do not give 10/10 is because it wouldn’t be fair for the dozens of Soccer games out there – Soccer Stars is not the only one after all.
General Gameplay: I give Soccer Stars 10/10. There are a lot of Soccer games on the market and they are probably looking better but there is not a game of this type that matches the atmosphere of Soccer Stars. The gameplay is intuitive making Soccer Stars very easy to play but hard to master. You need to learn the advantages of your formations and exploit the weaknesses of your opponent’s formation. The fact that the game looks simple has nothing to do with the complexity of the game which is great in my opinion. Talking about technical difficulties or bugs I can say that as long as you have a decent internet connection the game will not cause you any sort of problems.
Addictiveness: 9/10 for Soccer Stars on this section. The game is pretty addictive. The fact that the game is entirely multiplayer it’s a lot of fun. I like that I can challenge my friends to play and that the game keeps track of their progress. There is a lot of other stuff to do besides playing 1v1 with random strangers for no stake. There are different fields with different entry fee where you can play, you can join a tournament where you play 3 matches (if you are lucky), you level-up, keeping track of team parts collection and so on. I believe that Soccer Stars can keep you entertained for at least a month if you are a Soccer fan.
Overall I give Soccer Stars a rating of 9 out of 10. As I said in the review, the game is simple but amazing.
