Sprinkle Islands Free is a game created by the developer called Mediocre. They have brought hours and hours of fun to people with games like the original Sprinkle, Granny Smith, Smash Hit and of course the full version of Sprinkle Islands.
Sprinkle Islands Free is rated 3.8/5 stars on the Google Play Store, while having a 4/5 star rating on the Apple App Store. Sprinkle Islands Free is a water physics based puzzle game. In the game you are controlling a tiny firetruck, driven by one of the little blue aliens of the planet Titan. You are out to save your people from the fires that have started. Sometimes firefighting is not that easy at it seems though, as you will have to figure out tricky ways to put the fire out in various levels.
The game has your firetruck start on the left side of the screen, but you can’t move the truck itself, only control the height of the hose and use the button on the right side of the screen to sprinkle water. The truck will automatically move on to the next stage whenever you put out all the fires on the currently visible part of the screen.
Putting out fires is easy, you just have to aim the hose and release as much water as needed. You will hear a steamy sound when the water reaches fire, which indicates your good aim. Water usage is limited though, by the meter on the right side of the screen. Once you run out of water for a level, you can’t complete it and have to start again.
There are overall 8 levels in Sprinkle Islands Free, since it’s just a free version of the full game. Most of these levels are not too hard to finish, but some of them include trickier parts, where you have to think instead of wasting your water. You will have to push ice blocks, rocks and activate buttons to help your truck move on during the level, all with the help of only water.
Overall the game is a free taste into what the full experience is like and after you have finished the 8 levels included, you still have the possibility left of retrying each level to get a higher score.

Sprinkle Islands Free was a very short, but very fun game for me. It didn’t really take much effort to finish and I never got confused about what to do. It reminds me a lot of the original Sprinkle, which I have played a long time ago.
The game has a simple tutorial, with little hands showing what to do on the first few levels, but it also keeps adding new types of puzzles all the way up to the last level. I didn’t really feel the need to retry levels, as I have seen it all in less than 10 minutes.
Overall I could recommend trying Sprinkle Islands Free for anyone. It’s both a fun game for adults and little children. It shows off the general gameplay of Sprinkle Islands perfectly and it’s entirely free, so you are not forced to purchase the full version, whether you liked this or not.
Artwork: The game’s artwork gets an 8/10 from me. Sprinkle Islands Free is a pretty game, the design is very bright and friendly. I really liked all the visuals, it’s just very pleasing to look at!
Music & SFX: The music deserves an 8/10. The hawaii style songs in the game are also repesenting the same happy and friendly mentality as the visuals. They work well together to create a hard to match atmosphere. The SFX are also good quality, top notch.
Story & Originality: I give the story a 7/10. The story is simple, but it’s purpose is fulfilled thanks to the gameplay. The little aliens are also very cute, so you really feel compelled to help them out and save their villages.
General Gameplay: The general gameplay gets an 8/10. The water physics is probably the best I’ve seen in a mobile game so far. It’s very fluid and the movement of objects in the game are also realistic. The whole firefighting and puzzling aspects are well implemented.
Addictiveness: The addictiveness of Sprinkle Islands Free gets a 5/10. Probably the weakest part of the game is it’s longevity. It’s unfortunate that the free version only contains 8 levels, otherwise this game would be very addicting, but with the limited levels you can easily get bored of it, once it’s finished. If you couldn’t get enough of this, you will probably have fun with the full version, which has a lot of new levels and gameplay elements included.
Overall Score: 7/10.
