Respawnables is an action game developed by Digital Legends Entertainment, a company that joined Zynga Partners for Mobile program and worked on games like Icebreaker Hockey. The game has a 4 out of 5 rating on Google Play and 4 and a half stars on Apple’s App Store and it has been downloaded for about 30 million times on both platforms. Respawnables requires iOS 5.1.1 or later for Apple devices or an Android version of at least 2.3.
In Respawnables you take the role of a mercenary whose only role is to kill as many opponents as possible in a given time. The game reminds you of old school PC shooters like Unreal Tournament and if you are not familiar with PC Shooters think of Respawnables being like Hunger Games without the drama and with a lot more shooting. The game has a lot of single-player content (more than 185 missions to complete) and a strong multiplayer implementation which is great. Even though the whole purpose of the game is killing other players, there is no blood or gore involved so Respawnables may be safe for younger audience (the game is PEGI 7).
The game does not require a sign-up but if you link your Facebook account you will receive Gold and you will be ensured of no data loss. The developers also promise that they will not spam your timeline or anything like that.
There are 2 kinds of resources in game. One of them is called Cash and it is the main resource (you will be rewarded with Cash after completing missions, leveling up and so on). The other one is called Gold and can only be bought with real money. The price varies starting with $4.99 in exchange for 200 Gold and continues progressively until $999.99 for 2790 Gold. You can also buy Cash for real money (most expensive being 235,800 Cash for $99.99). From time to time there are different Deals that can get you various item combos – for example the Warlord Deal which is $39.99 and grants the player with Dual Revolvers, Siege Cannon, Double Barrel Shotgun and 500 Gold.
If you have been playing Respawnables, then you have probably found out how important gold and cash are to get you the items you need and to help you get through the game. If you are like most people, you probably cannot afford to make these purchases in the app store, because that ends up costing you a lot of real money. If you would like to get the gold and cash for free, then you need to check our free hack tool, which is available on both iOS and Android.
Check out the image shown below and you will see that the Respawnables hack tool is very easy to use. Just enter the amounts of gold and cash that you would like to put on your gaming account.
Download our free Respawnables hack tool, which takes around 30 seconds. You then need to wait an additional 30 seconds while the hack tool automatically installs. After this, select either iOS or Android depending on the device you are using. You will then be able to enter the amounts of each that you want to add to your gaming account.
When you are ready, you can press on “Start” to begin the Respawnables hack tool, which should take under 40 seconds to complete. It is important to note that the times depend on your internet connection and device. Once that has finished, open up the game on your device, and the items will be sitting in your account ready to use.
In Respawnables you must really rely on your weapon because it is basically doing all the work so make sure you are using the best one available every time.
Reload after every kill and I mean it. That extra bullet can and will make the difference.
Always pick up medals – Everytime someone dies he leaves a medal. Pick it because it grants you bonus points (You can even pick a medal you have dropped if your killer did not take it).
Change your positioning based on your weapon – if you have a shotgun try to fight your opponents at close range, if you have a sniper try to find a safe high ground and start hunting them.
Use circle strafing. If you usually play shooters you will know what I am talking about. If not, well, basically you need to move in a circle around your opponent while you shoot at him. It will be very hard for him to aim. Notice: Use only smgs or rifles at this.
Play smart. If there are less than 30 seconds left and you have the lead, stall. The 2nd place player is running out of time, not you.
After you reach level 4, you will unlock a skill tree. Make sure you have a look and add skill points in a way that matches your playstyle because they are pretty important.
You can find all developers tips if you select Extras and Help from the Options in-game. I selected the most important ones.
Some weapons also modify your moving speed. As a rule of thumb, the heavier weapons slow you down more than lighter weapons.
In multiplayer: The game will always try to pair you against opponents of the same level of competence.
In Team Vs., the winning team will be the one that collects the most team points during a match. Team points are earned by collecting medals dropped by killed enemies.
I was always a fan of Action games on mobile devices and because Respawnables is not only an action game but a shooter and it made me feel enthusiastic. In my opinion the game looks fine and it deserves all the praises because it is a terrific experience. I appreciate the hints about the movie Expendables and the fact that the mercenary from the starting screen is looking a lot like Dolph Lundgren (please tell me is not only me).
The secret recipe for an action game is to be fast paced, action packed and casual enough and Respawnables acts accordingly. It also has some weird RPG elements, two fun multiplayer modes and a lot of customization making the game a full enjoyable experience. I like the fact that there are dozens of weapons in the store – the developers will satisfy even the most pretentious client with their catalogue (there is Plasma Shotgun in that shop and I am deadly serious). I also like that there are various gadgets taken from popular movies – for example the Neuralyzer from Men in Black and a Ghostbusters Trap).
What I don’t really like about Respawnables is the overall control of the character ( I will get into details at Gameplay) and the fact that sometimes is hard to find opponents because of the internet issues (even though the developers assured the players that the game supports both WiFi and 3G/4G connections). I also don’t like the rate of the regeneration of HP in Single Player missions against AI – all I am doing is to reload and my enemy is full HP once again. I mean why does not my HP regenerate the same?
Overall, I think that Respwanbles is a good game and if you have doubts you should go ahead and download it. It is free, it has a good rating and you might really enjoy it.
Artwork: Respawnables gets 8 out of 10 for the artwork. The game looks rather pleasing because it has an interesting cartoonish approach. The characters are well designed, the arenas (more commonly – the maps) are looking anything but boring and the weapons are nicely detailed and all in a cartoonish way. The animations are looking admirable considering the fact that the game is cartooned – the movement feels natural. I think it is worth mentioning the funny animation that pops-up when you fire (“RaTaTaTa” is all I am saying). What I don’t like about the artwork is the entirely absence of blood (an option wouldn’t hurt anybody) and the way the mercenaries die – they are being way too dramatic for a 5 second death.
Music & SFX: Respawnables gets 7 out of 10 for its music and sound effects. The music matches the game’s theme and makes you want to play the game but it can only be heard in the last 10 seconds of a round, at the end of a match and in the menus. Besides that, there is no music so that is not cool. The sound effects are pretty boring because every weapon has only a sound effect which is not exceptional, the character occasionally grunts and the explosion effect is a bit lousy. The only thing that saves the game is the fact that the music is awesome (for the time it is on at least).
Story/Originality: I give the game 7 out of 10 at this segment. Unfortunately the game has no story whatsoever so I can’t give a rating for that. In terms of originality, Respawnables is looking promising even though there are a lot of other games of this genre on the market. What makes this game stand out is the amount of customization available and the multiplayer modes. Respawnables has its own peculiar style (has elements from different genres) and I think that it is doing a great job.
General Gameplay: I give Respawnables 7 out of 10 for its general gameplay. Don’t get me wrong, overall this game is great but I think that its gameplay suffers. The controls of an Action game are pretty straight forward but the absence of a real tutorial and the fact that you basically need to start right away with a mission is not okay. New players will struggle to control their character and they most likely will get annoyed because of the weird system of aiming. After you get used to the game you will realize that is not that hard and it is playable but until then you will not have a lot of fun. Respawnables has a lot of content for an action game and even though personally I love it I think that this is the main reason they focused less on the gameplay. There are a lot of other shooters on the market with a superior gameplay and I believe that the developers should have tried harder.
Addictiveness: The game gets 8 out of 10 for its addictiveness. Most of the players get bored of action games pretty easy but with Respawnables that is not the case. This game has a considerable amount of content in single-player and multi-player both. There are a lot of guns and esthetic customizations and the missions and leveling-up system are some great additions. Respawnables is a very catchy game and if you get used to the game mechanics you will have a hard time parting away with it.
Overall, I give Respawnables a rating of 7.5 out of 10. Even though there is still room for improvement, I enjoyed the game.
