Gravity Guy Free Cheats & Hack for Slow Motion and Shields

Gravity Guy FREE is an Arcade game developed by the well-known company Miniclip.com which created numerous successful mobile games such as Soccer Stars, 8 Ball Pool or Plague Inc. The game has a rating of 4.1 out of 5 on Google Play and 3 and a half stars on Apple’s App Store. It has been downloaded for about 10 million times and it requires an Android version of at least 2.1 and for Apple devices, iOS 4.3 and up.

In Gravity Guy FREE you take the role of a brave skilled guy who defied the laws of gravity and because of that he was captured. Now, he escaped and you are his only chance to freedom. This type of games was popular a few years ago but it seems that, lately this genre’s popularity started to increase again.

The game does not require a sign-up but it is strongly recommended to ensure no data loss and for security reasons. At this moment, you can use Google+ as a sign-in account. In Gravity Guy FREE there are some permanent ads on your screen during your runs but it seems that there are no pop-up ones so you should be fine.

Gravity Guy FREE does not have any resources whatsoever in-game so the only purchase with real-money is to buy the full game. It costs $0.99 to get a full experience with no ads and the possibility of buying the 2 power-ups that are available within the game. You can purchase 5 Shields for $0.99 and a 5 Slow Motion Pack for the same price. Other than that there is no much difference between the free version and the full one.

Tips & Tricks

Don’t use the Slow Motion unless it’s mandatory to do so. You will not get many and it will last for a while so you will lose precious time.

Never forget that you can’t change gravity while in mid-air. Your character must reach land first in order to be able to change direction again.

Don’t think of your inevitable deaths as failures but rather use them in your advantage. Every time you die you learn a part from the level design and in the next round you will know what to do to survive. This game is all about patterns.

The shield can save you once but in most cases that will not be enough. Use it right before imminent collision.

After you unlock the Endless option, you can practice there your reflexes. It will certainly help you.

The Multiplayer implementation is just for fun. You can use it for practice as well but in general, it will not help you with anything but relaxing.

Full Gravity Guy Game Review

Gravity Guy Free is that type of game that you are looking forward to review because it is fun, complex and interesting. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Don’t get me wrong, Gravity Guy shows potential but that potential is worthless when the developers can’t deliver a proper game. I honestly think that Miniclip.com could have done a much better job with this one.

First of all, I hate the fact that I can’t develop my character in any way, not even visually speaking. I understand if a system with leveling-up and an inventory can be hard to implement (even though is not that hard frankly speaking) but at least let me dye my character’s hair toxic green or pink. Also, an achievement or trophy system would have brought nothing but good things to Gravity Guy Free. Secondly, I don’t like the fact that the game is short. It is true that you have the endless run option but I would have desired a more long and complex story mode. Finally, the game lacks power-ups (only two available in-game and both of them must be bought with real money). Personally, I expected bigger amount of imagination from the developers and I would have certainly enjoyed this little extras implemented.

There are some good things about Gravity Guy Free too. For example, the multiplayer implementation is one of the most awesome things in arcade games. I know that everyone has Wi Fi and fast internet and a remote distance multiplayer is way more fun but I think that from time to time the feeling of being able to play on the same device is great. Another thing that I liked about Gravity Guy Free is that the game’s difficulty is rising slow enough not to annoy you but fast enough not to be boring. From this point of view the game is pretty balanced. Also, I like that the even though the ads are permanent, they will not annoy you because their placement is in the left of your screen. The menus of the game are very neat which came for me as a surprise because usually, in arcade games, the menus are very colorful and flashy and full of useless options and information (not to mention the ads that occupy half of your screen or even more).

Overall, Gravity Guy Free is a game that will probably not offer you a great experience. However, if you are a fan of these arcade games you may become melancholic and play it for a while.

Ratings

Artwork: Gravity Guy Free gets 7 out of 10 for the artwork. Everything in the game is oriented to the futuristic theme that it has and I think that it is great. The characters are simple yet nicely designed – they look very lively. The level designs are becoming more and more interesting as the time passes and you can see that the developers worked on it. However, Gravity Guy looks like a platform game so the environment and background are static and they are definitely not subject to change. I know that it is hard to focus on both the level design and the background artwork but there are solutions – for example the script with the airplanes that are coming straight to you is great. The menus are looking very nice and the loading screens are great because they make the transition between different instances very smooth.

Music & SFX: I give the game 7 out of 10 for its music & SFX. The music matches its theme given the fact that it is very futuristic. However there is only one background song that repeats on an infinite loop. The sound effects in the game are somehow realistic (if a dude that defies gravity can be called realistic) but their number is low as well. What I like about the music is that it is discrete and not loud and it allows the player to focus. In this type of games I think that it is important to concentrate on surviving and fortunately you can do that in Gravity Guy Free – only if they would have worked on it a little more.

Story/Originality: Gravity Guy receives 6 out of 10 at this segment. In the game description, there is presumably an intriguing story about a guy who escaped a prison and now tries to run. But that story is only in the description because in the game you will not encounter a word about it. There are some dudes who are chasing you but this is the case in almost every platform game where there is an entity that puts pressure on you. While the game gets a zero rating for the false story, I can’t say that it feels authentic either. As I mentioned before, this kind of games were pretty popular back in the day so Gravity Guy just uses a common concept with a new face and that’s the game. There is nothing out of the ordinary or special about Gravity Guy.

General Gameplay: I give Gravity Guy a rating of 7 out of 10 for the gameplay. This little game’s gameplay is no rocket science. You need to tap your screen to go upwards or backwards and if you have Shields or Slow Motion options to press 2 additional buttons and that’s it. There is also a tutorial at the beginning of the game so you’ll learn everything you need to know in no-time. The thing that I don’t like about Gravity Guy’s gameplay is the fact that at higher levels, the game transforms from a game of reflexes to a game of luck. There are some situations where effectively it is pure luck. On a brighter side, the game does not have any major bugs or problems and for the time I’ve played I did not encounter any freezes even though some people have complained about them.

Addictiveness: Gravity Guy gets 6 out of 10 for its addictiveness. The game is dull, boring and lacks content. The only thing that is good about Gravity Guy is the implementation of the local multiplayer where you can challenge your friends to a race on the same device. As a paradox, this feature is great and innovating but the majority of arcade game nowadays unfortunately omits it. If the game had more additional content and with this multiplayer I think that it would have reached the tops with no problems at all. The problem with Gravity Guy is that it is repetitive and there is not much you can do – there is no feeling of progression or character development and these two things are making the game addictive. Maybe the next Gravity Guy will be better.

Overall, Gravity Guy Free gets a rating of 6.4 out of 10. The game brings nothing new to the table and it is rather boring.
