Would you like to go through another type of Angry Birds, but rather a complete change of setting, from birds to minions? We have found the game for you. Brought to you by Gungho Online, with its most recent update on April 05 of 2013, so you know that the producers feel like the game have reached its peak in terms of play performance. Princess Punt is available for Android devices, and also iOS devices who have a compatibility of 4.1 or later. This means that all iOS devices, even iPhone, iPad, and iPod touches can download Princess Punt but you might need to download the latest update in order to get your device onto the latest version of iOS so that you will have the compatibility with this game, but people who have kept up with the iOS updates will have no problem getting Princess Punt even without updating it for 3 versions now. If English isn’t your native language, you will also be able to change the language to Japanese, but anybody who doesn’t have the ability to read or understand either language will have a hard time playing this game. Princess Punt is in its version 1.5.0, so it is a really new game that the producers will be looking to improve in the future so the game can only get better and more updated from here. Princess PUnt isn’t particularly large either, so it shouldn’t be a problem on your phone space, as it is only going to take up 19.1 MB of space on your phone. So anybody who wants this game, should be able to download it even if you need it in a different language. In order to download the game on each device, it will require you to simply go to the app store in order to download the game.
Princess Punt is a bit unique in that you are in the position of the Princess who goes up to try and get to her boyfriend at the end of the road, but within the road, there are several different enemies that you must face on the way to your boyfriend. For example, some of those enemies include some angry mad acorns as well as different dinosaurs. When these are in your way, you must fire your minions at the enemies in order to try and get past them and kill the enemies.
Just as in Angry Birds, different birds have different abilities and different minions have different abilities as well. So for the minions that have different abilities, for one, there is a mage minion that fires down ice bolts as well as fires down fire, then there is an archer who will shoot arrows at the enemies to kill them. For the melee minions, there is a centurion that has the ability to use a spear in order to kill the enemy monsters. Lastly, for a melee minion, there is the hero who sits by the princess’s side in order to protect the princess from any monsters. After they are kicked by the princess, they will be able to use different abilities based on what minion they are. After you kick them, they stay in battle until the entire level ends. This means that you have to place your minions well enough so that your minions won’t be attacked by the enemies.
After a level, you are granted some experience from killing all of those monsters. This experience is used so that the guy next to you, your hero that is next to you, has his abilities leveled up, making them stronger, and he will be able to do more damage as well as take more damage. After a level, you will also be able to spin the slot machine that will most of the times, give you nothing, but sometimes, you will earn a new weapon for your other minions that aren’t the Hero and you will be able to get stronger minions.
The game works like a progressive game where you have to constantly finish level by level until you have beaten an entire area. Although Princess Punt is free, it is not entirely available. What I mean by that, is that there are 2 areas that are available to you for a free download, but the rest of the areas are not available to you. They require you to purchase the area before you can play them for 99 cents an area. Also, for more in-game purchases, you have the ability to get better weapons for your minions through the shop. The way to get more weapons for your minions is through getting coins through the levels that you play and then purchasing in through the store. You can also buy around 20,000 coins if you simply buy it from the in game store. These weapons will make the levels a lot easier, but if you want more of a challenge, then don’t buy any additional coins. The game gets extremely hard towards the later parts of the area and it gets to a point where you need to repeat previous levels to get enough coins for an upgrade, otherwise you can’t defeat all of the enemies that are thrown at you. So if you want to make the game easier, then you can use money in order to play, but if you don’t want to make it harder, then simply don’t buy any extra coins.
While you might be having a good time playing Princess Punt, you will end up needing a lot of premium tickets and coins in order to get through the game. The first trick that I can offer you, is to try and get the highest score possible on every single round. The best way to do this is by being as efficient as possible. What I mean by that is that you have to try and use as few minions as possible. By using fewer minions, you will automatically get a large chunk of points every time you do not use a minion. Even though you want to do as much damage as possible, fewer minions will always mean more points.
Examine the structure and look at where there are fewer blocks supporting the structure. Where there are fewer blocks supporting the structure, the easier it will be to knock down. This will be an effective strategy when you need to know where to hit your bird in order to do maximum damage to the structure. This will help with efficiency. As another side note or helpful tip with this one, wood is a lot easier to get through than any other material. If you have a choice, try to go for the wood blocks instead of a different material.
Scroll out of the screen in order to see the whole battlefield. This will give you a better angle on the game and will allow you to aim a lot better, reducing the amount of time that you need to continue adjusting your minions in order to get the right angle. After you approximate the angle that you need in order to launch the bird in the general direction of the structure, zoom back in so that you can adjust more carefully.
After every single shot, you will be able to see the flight pattern of the one that you shot previously. This means that you will have the ability to shoot your minions in the same direction as you did last time. This is effective in micro adjusting your angle in order to get a better shot on the structure.
After every shot that you make, wait for the previous minion that you shot before to disappear because if your minion that you shot hits the one that you previously shot, you’ll lose a lot of power on the minion you shot. If you wait just a little bit of time in order for the minion to disappear, you will save valuable time because you won’t have to restart the game and start from the beginning.
Despite the game being really focused on being really similar to Angry Birds, it is okay in terms of it being kinda different from the Angry Birds. The graphics are pretty average and not as high definition as I would have wanted them to be. Also, the advertisements that come with this came are quite ridiculous and silly. The game requires you to pretty much see an ad right after you finish a level. There are pop ups that tell you to post to Twitter or Facebook about achieving a level or getting a weapon for one of your minions. The time it takes to load up a level is also pretty excessive, but I’m not going to complain, because I wasn’t really focused on getting into the game that quickly anyway. Also, the connection without any real wifi around is almost non-existent to where it gets to a point of you can’t even play the game anymore. The official language of Princess Punt is Japanese, so you have to change the language into English, unless you want to see the original game in Japanese.
Artwork: I would rate Princess Punt a 4/10 for artwork. They are not particularly complicated because the design of the game is rather simple and pretty easy to make. I don’t think that they spent a ton of time on the artwork for this game, but rather tried to work on the gameplay aspect more than they did anything else. For Princess Punt, it definitely needs to live up to the artwork of Angry Birds and then maybe it gets somewhat close to what Angry Birds was in terms of being successful because if anything, the artwork is a turn-off when it comes to looking at the game for the first time.
Music and SFX: I would rate Princess Punt a 5/10 for the music and sound effects of the game. The music isn’t really special or anything that exciting. If the music was a bit better and was a bit more pump-up it might be more enjoyable to play with it because you would be playing with the music rather than just having to listen to some cheesy music that you don’t want to listen to and would rather mute. The sound effects are decent and they are what you expect them to be, so there is nothing special about them.
Story and Originality: I would rate Princess Punt a 4/10. A story about a princess who is trying to kick her minions to get past the enemies? I would say that that is a bit weird and not really a fun story line to play in. I think that it would be better if the minions just launched themselves after the enemies to protect the princess, but they decided to add in this weird aspect of the princess actually kicking the minions at the enemy. It also isn’t very original due to the fact that it is so similar to Angry Birds of how you launch your minions at an angle and then they get to try and kill the enemies, which is pretty similar to Angry Birds if you think about it.
General Gameplay: I would rate Princess Punt a 7/10. Disregarding the fact that it isn’t that original, it is a pretty good game in terms of gameplay. The fact that the hero can gain levels and get a new weapon in all is very interesting and really adds to the game play. Also the fact that you can send mages and other classes at the enemy where they have some pretty unique effects to them, is also a nice addition to the gameplay.
Addictiveness: I would rate Princess Punt a 7/10. Once you get into the game and start playing for real, the game gets pretty addicting and you start to play it for a while without stopping. I think what draws people away is the fact that it’s a princess punting her minions to attack the enemy and the overall graphics of the game.
Overall Rating: Overall, I would rate Princess Punt a 5/10 because while it does lack in artwork, story, and originality, it comes back in terms of being addicting and having some good gameplay to it.
