The gameplay in Tank Battles starts with a small tutorial, showing you how to take control over your tank, what your objectives are and how to achieve them. The goal in Tank Battles is to take down enemy tanks and be the last tank standing. While this might sound easy to achieve, the gameplay becomes significantly more difficult, the more you progress through it. You can play Tank Battles by connecting with your Google+, Facebook or by using a guest account. Logging in with your social media accounts will allow you to play with your friends, use your friends’ tank in single-player, battle against friends in multiplayer and rank up at the leaderboard.

Tank Battles features three different game modes. The first game mode is called Campaign and this is the place where you need to fight against waves of enemy tanks. The campaign consists of a lot of levels, and you need to clear the one you are at in order to be able to progress through to the next level. Every level has its own three objectives, which means that when you complete all three of those objectives, you will be rewarded three golden stars. After every eighth level, you will need to have a certain amount of golden stars if you want to progress in the campaign mode. This means that you sometimes have to repeat levels where you weren’t able to complete many objectives, in order to be able to play new levels.

The second game mode is called World Battle, which is the multiplayer mode of Tank Battles. You will connect with other players around the world and battle against them to see who the best tank commander between you all is. The last game mode is called Custom Battle, in which you can connect to custom servers which have different battles implemented into them. You can even start up your own server with your own rules, if you wish to do so. Both the World Battle and Custom Battle game modes are online against other players.

There is a leaderboard implemented into Tank Battles, which means that you can check what your rank is against your friends and other players around the world. By playing the game, you will earn reputation and this will determine what your overall rank is. Ranking anywhere from the first till the hundredth place will result in you getting a stack of in-game cash.

There is an “Objectives” button at the main menu of Tank Battles. When you tap on it, you can see the available quests for you. You can also check what your title is and how close you are to completing achievements. Completing quests and achievements will earn you in-game currencies and power-ups, giving you a big advantage during your gameplay.

Tank Battles In-game store

There are two kinds of currencies in Tank Battles. The first on is in the form of gold coins, which are easily obtainable by playing the game and destroying other tanks/objects. The second one is in the form of in-game cash and is very difficult to obtain by playing the game. You can use both the gold coins and the in-game cash to upgrade your tank and purchase power-ups which you can use during your gameplay.
There are a total of seven categories in the in-game shop. The first category is called Cannons and will allow you to upgrade and purchase new cannons for your tank. This will increase the shell speed, damage and load speed for your cannon, making you more powerful against enemy tanks.

The second category is called Hulls and allows you to upgrade and purchase new hulls for your tank. Hulls are very essential for your tank because it determines the amount of health points and shell protection your tank has. By upgrading your tanks’ hull, your tank can take more damage and thus it will be harder to get destroyed.

The third category is called Treads and in this category you can upgrade and purchase new treads for your tank. Treads are what makes your tank move and are very essential if you want to dodge enemy fire. Upgrading your tanks’ treads will allow it to drive faster and be a coin magnet, pulling in gold coins automatically. The fourth category is called Mines and will allow you to purchase different kinds of mines for you to lay down during your gameplay. When an enemy tank drives over a mine that you have placed, it will explode and be destroyed.

The fifth category is called Bombs and will allow you to call in air support when you need it. There are a whole bunch of bombs you can purchase and they all have their pros and cons. The sixth category is called Turrets and in this category you can purchase additional turrets for your tank. There are several different turrets available, and depending on how much you are able to spend, you can purchase very weak or very strong turrets. These turrets will help you during your gameplay, doing additional damage to enemy tanks.

If you do not wish to upgrade your tanks’ parts individually, you can also purchase tank packs, which will upgrade your tanks’ parts for you. Purchasing tank packs instead of individual parts will save you a lot on in-game cash.

You can purchase in-game cash with real money, if you wish to do so. The price for in-game cash starts at $1,99 for the smallest amount of 200 in-game cash and goes up till $99,99 for the largest amount of 15.000 in-game cash. In turn, you can use your in-game cash to purchase gold coins. The price for gold coins starts at 200 in-game cash for the smallest amount of 2000 gold coins and goes up till 10.000 in-game cash for the largest amount of 150.000 gold coins.

If you decide to log in with your Google+ or Facebook account in Tank Battles for the first time, you will receive a one-time-only gift of ten in-game cash. As far as I can tell, there is no other way to receive in-game cash or gold coins.

Tank Battles Gameplay Tips and Tricks

In Tank Battles, you will need a lot of gold coins to purchase power-ups and upgrades for your tank. Earning gold coins is pretty easy because all you have to do is play the game and destroy tanks, which drop gold coins that you can collect. However, you can also destroy objects in the game such as sandbag barriers and tents, which also drop gold coins.

The levels in Tank Battles become significantly more difficult when you progress through the game, so it is important to know that you can replay earlier levels to collect more gold coins. This will allow you to grind earlier levels and save up a lot of gold coins. You should also pay attention to quests and achievements if you want to earn extra gold coins and power-ups. Completing the first dozen of quests and achievements is a piece of cake and they reward you handsomely.

Another very important thing about Tank Battles is that you will need to learn how to drive and shoot with your tank at the same time. This can be very difficult, especially when you first start playing the game. The best way to practice is just by replaying older levels over and over again. By doing this, you will get used to the controls and you will also grind for gold coins at the same time, which makes it a win-win situation for you.

Our Full Tank Battles Review

The name of this game, Tank Battles, already made me believe that the goal of the game would be to destroy enemy tanks, and I was right. The gameplay starts with a nicely build tutorial where an instructor tells you how to control your tank and how to complete the objectives of a level. You will also learn about special power-ups, which you can use to your advantage. After the tutorial ends, the gameplay becomes pretty straightforward, but still very entertaining to play in my opinion. This is due to the fact that the developers implemented three different game modes into the game, so there is enough features to explore when you play Tank Battles. The graphics and music in the game were a bit mediocre for my taste, but not bad enough to ruin the gameplay and keep the game enjoyable for me. I also like the fact that you can customize and upgrade the parts of your tank to make it more powerful against enemies.

Another very positive aspect about Tank Battles is the fact that there are no advertisements implemented into the game. This keeps the gameplay fresh and the user interface clear and smooth. Don’t get me wrong, I totally understand it when developers of free-to-play games implement ads into their games. They have spent time and money developing a game and they need to be compensated somehow. The problem is that most developers implement advertisements in such a horrible way, that it really ruins the game completely. It was very refreshing to see that the developers of Tank Battles did not do this, because having no advertisements is far better than having advertisements.

There weren’t many negative aspects about Tank Battles, but the only one that really bothered me is the fact that a lot of items in the in-game shop cost a lot of in-game cash. There is almost no way to obtain in-game cash by playing the game, which means that you will have to spend a lot of real money in order to obtain a large quantity of in-game cash. This makes the game less enjoyable for players that do not want or cannot afford to spend money on a free-to-play game. Tank Battles feels like a cheap cash grab, just because of this reason and developer Gameloft implements the same system in many of their other games. In my opinion, loyal players should be rewarded instead of punished like this. The developer should really look into implementing some systems that will allow players to earn in-game cash easier and for free.

Tank Battles Ratings

Artwork: I give Tank Battles a 7/10 for its artwork. In my opinion, the graphics of Tank Battles could have been much better. Don’t get me wrong, the graphics are pretty decent and the animations are also nice, but I would have expected a bit more. The user interface is very well designed and the screenshots of the game made me think that there would be some pretty good graphics in the game, but they were mediocre at best. I will still give Tank Battles a decent rating for its artwork because of the fact that the animations really pulled the game together, visually wise. The explosive special effects and other special effects were very nice as well.

Music & SFX: I give Tank Battles a 7/10 for its music and SFX. There are several different soundtracks in Tank Battles, which is nice because having more than one soundtrack will help your players get less bored by it. There are many sound effects in the game as well, making the game feel more alive and realistic. Just like the artwork, the music and SFX could have been a bit better, but overall they get the job done pretty nicely.

Story & Originality: I give Tank Battles an 8/10 for its story and originality. There are many games out on the app stores that have a similar gameplay as Tank Battles, but I believe that developer Gameloft did a pretty good job in developing original features into their game. For starters, there are many upgrades you can apply to your tank and three different game modes which you can play, and it is all free. The fact that you can add your friends and play with or against them, or against other players around the world makes the game even more original in my opinion. There is a small tutorial at the beginning of the gameplay, which also tells the story behind the game and the goals that you need to achieve.

General Gameplay: I give Tank Battles an 8/10 for general gameplay. Like I have mentioned above, the gameplay of Tank Battles starts with a small tutorial, which teaches you how to control your tank, how to shoot and how to complete levels properly. It will take some getting used to when you start playing Tank Battles for the first time, but after you have played a couple of levels, the gameplay will become pretty straightforward. The game has a ton of features, a couple of game modes and a lot of upgrades, which makes the gameplay very entertaining. I like the fact that the controls are very responsive and easy to use and the user interface is very nicely designed, making it easy to navigate through the main menu.

Addictiveness: I give Tank Battles an 8/10 for addictiveness. It is very refreshing to see that the developers did not implement any kind of limitations on the play time, in the form of energy bars or lives. This means that players can play Tank Battles to their hearts desire. Many people play mobile games because they want to kill some time, but there are some people who really enjoy playing mobile games hours on end. This means that they can play as long as they want, whenever they want, without having to wait at all. There are three different game modes in Tank Battles and an in-game shop with a lot of tank upgrades, raising the addictiveness level a lot. The only problem is that a lot of upgrades cost a lot of in-game cash, which you can only obtain by purchasing with real money.

All things considered, I give Tank Battles an 8/10.
