Break Bricks Tips, Hack, & Cheats for Coins & Lives – New Cheats Available

Anyone who has a history with gaming probably heard about the classic brick breaker arcanoid games. These games were the most popular starting from the 90’s to the beginning of the 21th century, but the addicting gameplay of destroying bricks with a ball and board, while using powerups can still be great fun today. Try out Break Bricks on Android, which is as true to the classics as possible, while providing new type of powerups to enjoy!

Break Bricks is an arcanoid mobile game by the developer CanadaDroid, who has already tried their charm on many genres of mobile gaming. They have created games such as Real Skate 3D, Snail Battles, My Tiny Pet or even Sudoku Master, among others.

Break Bricks is rated 4/5 stars on the Google Play Store, with millions of downloads and a vocal playerbase behind it. Most people seem to be liking it, while others expected more. We are here today to show you the ins and outs of the game and help you decide whether it’s worth your time or not.

This is definitely not a game that is about to waste your time with cutscenes, story bits or tutorials, but instead puts you right into the action as you enter the menu. You are shown the two available play modes: Arcade and Endless. You can also choose between two different skins to use, which change the whole game’s appearance. The first skin is the Classic, which includes a bright menu and happy music, with classic arcanoid themed levels. Then there is the Metal skin, which will turn the whole game into a metallic style, including action packed music and metallic surfaced levels.

Well, this all sounds nice, but what is the game about anyway? You may ask, if you don’t know this genre. It’s very simple: You have a board at the bottom of the screen on each level, which you control either by tapping on the screen or by tilting your phone. Using this board and a ball, you have to destroy all the bricks that appear at the top of each level in varying shapes and forms. Your only worry is to not let the ball fall below your board, because that makes you lose a life.

Let’s talk a little more about modes in Break Bricks. There are overall 150 different levels in Arcade mode, which is the “main” mode of the game. You start out with the first level and have to complete each to progress to the next, until you beat all 150. It’s not a simple task, but a fun one, with a lot of powerups and other unlockables as you progress. There are also bosses after each 30 levels, with unique shapes like a dino or a temple.

Then there is the Endless Mode, where your only goal is to survive as long as you can, not letting the ball reach the bottom, while clearing levels. This mode is also under a time limit, so you will have to catch Time powerups, which only appear in this mode and add extra time to the clock. Try it yourself and beat your highscore in this mode!

All this talk about powerups, but what are they? Powerups are the fuel, if the game is the fire. They put the much needed variety and excitement into the simple ball and board gameplay. Powerups in Break Bricks are the following: Extra Balls, which make more balls appear when picked up. Long Board, which makes the board longer, and making it easier to catch the ball with it. Fast Ball, which is to make the ball move faster. Hourglass, a powerup that makes the ball slower and easier to keep track of. Magnet, one that lets you catch the ball with your board. The Heart, which gives you an extra life when picked up.

There is also the Shield, a powerup that creates a barrier at the bottom of the screen, blocking the falling ball once. You also have Rockets, which makes your board shoot lazery rockets towards the bricks. There are also some powerups that transform the ball, including Fiery Ball, Big Ball and Bouncy Ball. The opposite of a powerup is a powerdown, which is Short Board, and it turns your board into a shorter one, making it much harder to catch the ball with it.

Powerups in most arcanoids, and therefore in Break Bricks as well can be achieved by catching them with the board as they fall out of broken bricks. There are some bricks marked by a dot, which always contain a powerup, but normal bricks have a chance to do so as well. This is not the only way to get them in this game though, as Break Bricks also allows you to purchase powerups before levels both in Arcade and Endless mode. Some of the more powerful ones like the Fiery Ball need to be unlocked by playing Arcade mode, but others can be used on any level from the start as a boost.

Buying powerups at the start of levels cost coins, which can be collected in levels, as they fall out of bricks like powerups do. Other than collecting them using this slow method, they can also be purchased using real money. You can get 500 coins for $1.99, which is the smallest pack, buy 35000 coins for $99.99 as the biggest available pack, or purchase any of the other 4 packs inbetween.

The game also includes ads, which are shown at the bottom of the screen in the menus, or sometimes might pop in after levels. These can be disabled by purchasing any of the coin packs, except the cheapest one.

Cheats & Tips for Break Bricks

Cheats in Break Bricks are not rare inbetween, as one might expect at first. There are multiple kinds of cheats, some are included in the game, some are not. Listen here and let me tell you about these.

The game allows you to purchase powerups at the start of each level, while also allowing the player to replay any level as many times as they wish, and having no penalty for doing so. If you find a level too hard to beat, just quit out of it and start it again, but this time with powerups! Long Board or the Magnet are two powerups that I recommend using, if you have troubles with a level, or if the time limit is the issue, then use Fast Ball. You can use at most 3 powerups this way.

Of course, you should keep in mind that the main source of powerups is during levels, so always be on the lookout for falling ones to catch. At the same time, you should be wary that it’s not always worth it to catch all powerups or even coins, as some might be falling in an entirely different direction than the ball, making you miss it and lose a life. An exception is when you see a Life powerup, because if you catch it just as the ball has fallen, you will still get an extra life.

Also, a tip you might consider is to redirect the ball when it reaches the board by suddenly moving the board in the direction you want to send the ball. Because of the sudden movement of the board, it can turn the ball’s momentum around and help you aim it at a different part of the bricks above.

Break Bricks Review

I have always loved arcanoid games ever since I was little, they always charmed me with their simple, yet addicting gameplay. No doubt the ones which had the craziest powerups and level designs were my all time favorites. Break Bricks tends to stay more on the classic and simple side of things, with less crazy powerups and less varied level designs, but it still seemed to be worthy of a try.

The general gameplay of Break Bricks is almost a carbon copy of the original brick breakers, including its style when using the Classic skin. The control of the board is simple and the gameplay is not overly complicated or hard, it’s more on the easy side, honestly.

The fun starts when the powerups get introduced though, which takes a while in Arcade mode. Arcade mode is built up in a way that powerups will get unlocked as you progress, and since progressing turned out to be not that fast, most of the early levels actually bored me somewhat. After reaching level 20 or so, it starts to get a bit better, but levels before that tend to be pretty slow paced.

I also tried out Endless mode and ended up playing it more than Arcade. It’s just a lot more fun, with more possibilities thanks to the fact that all powerups are immediately available in the Endless levels. It’s also more challenging, because of the countdown clock, so I always had to be on my toes and finish each level as fast as possible.

The game also has an option to buy powerups before levels, but I honestly didn’t really like this idea, as some of them make the game a lot easier, like the Fiery Ball. These powerups can all be tried for free the first time you play, which is a nice gesture though.

Overall the game is a solid arcanoid, with 150 levels, an Endless mode and two entirely different skins and good music, which is honestly a lot more than you would expect from a free game. Ads are shown rarely as well, and they don’t take you out of the experience. I can safely say this game is worth the time invested in it.

Ratings

Artwork: I give the artwork of Break Bricks an 8/10. The game’s Classic skin looks exactly like the original arcanoids, with the colorful bricks and simple backgrounds. Then there is the Metal skin, which changes the whole game’s appearance to a metallic one, giving it a new look and feel. Both skins are great, it’s definitely a pleasure to look at this game.

Music & SFX: The music of Break Bricks gets a 9/10 from me. The game has four different tracks of music, two-two for each skin. They all fit perfectly with the game and the current mood set by the skins and the gameplay.

Story & Originality: Story and originality wise the game deserves a 7/10. The game tries to be true to the classics of the genre and succeeds at that. It’s not an original idea in the slightest, but it’s not trying to innovate, but instead brings back nostalgic memories, while providing enjoyment even to those who are new to the genre.

General Gameplay: The general gameplay of Break Bricks gets a 7/10. I would be glad to rate it even higher, but the gameplay has some small problems. The Arcade mode is pretty slow to get going, as the first bunch of levels are really slow to complete, because of the low amount of powerups. My general conclusion is that when there are powerups active the game is more fun and more accurately paced. The Endless mode is definitely the better here, as it has more constant action and excitement.

Addictiveness: I give the addictiveness of the game a 9/10. Despite the small issues with the pacing of the Arcade mode, the game is extremely addicting, almost begging you to play just one more level each time. It’s easy to get lost in it and play more than what you originally wanted to, or just try to beat your own highscore in Endless mode yet again.

Overall Score: 8/10.
