The tips that I can give you are pretty few considering that the game is pretty based off of feel so it’s hard to give decent tips because it is easier to just play the game and get the feel of the game. It’s like driving a car. I can’t tell you how to drive the car and suddenly you can drive a car, you have to feel for how the car is going to turn and everything like that.
First of all, just like in a real car, you want to slow down when it comes to going into a turn. If you have too much speed, then you likely are going to hit a wall or fly over the edge which will waste a ton of time and make you lose a bunch of speed and most likely your lead as well.
Another thing to do when you are playing in multiplayer is to not drive in a completely straight line. You want to swerve a tiny bit so that you can avoid getting hit by random items or be ready for something in front of you that you might hit. Just make sure you don’t want to be a chicken with your head cut off.
One of the advanced tactics in this game is to barrel roll off of a jump instead of going at it straight up. This will make your flight take less time and will give you an advantage in terms of getting to the ground quicker than everyone else.
Sonic Racing Transformed is pretty fun to look at because all of the characters are characters that you recognize either from some kid television show or some other thing like a convention. The characters are also pretty distinguished so it might be pretty nostalgic to play this game. I also think that Sonic Racing Transformed has some of the best racing tracks out there with all of the unique tracks as well as the music that is associated with those tracks. The track itself has a ton of different features such as hidden paths as well as turns that test your limits on how well you can drift. So really, this game is pretty fun and exciting but there are a couple problems that I have with the game.
First off, it is a bit of a rip off of Mario Kart which came out first because it has the same kind of unique powerups that Mario Kart has, and it seems like it is basically copying Mario Kart except adding their own characters to the game. I don’t really appreciate a cop out from a major company. Also, this game isn’t entirely free at all. The main bosses and enemies that you can face in the game cost quite a bit of money in order to beat them. It takes a lot of effort as well as time to get past those extra bosses which will soak up more time which is a good thing in this case because you kind of want to waste time with these games. Also, the game has this currency of stars which are pretty hard to get in the game, at least a decent amount, which you can buy using real money, but nobody wants to use real money on what is supposed to be a free game. It really feels like this game is the lite version.
The power-ups and secret alleyways in the game are fun and nice that make the game a lot of fun to play, but it also makes the game pretty luck based because based on your position in the game, you could be getting completely amazing items as well as really bad items. So you could be in first place on the last lap and get completely nuked by other people’s powerups and then end up coming in third or something like that. So the game is pretty luck based and it really depends on how lucky you are as well as how good you are in terms of the ultimate place that you will land yourself at.
The social connection to this game regardless of whether you spend money on it or not is really good. You get to play with your friends who also play the game and you can actually race against them. This is especially fun when it comes to wanting to play the game to a point where you actually get to experience playing against your friends and feeling that competitive drive where you want to beat out your friends in the game as well as school them. I think that this aspect of the game really brings people to this game because they want to beat their friends and ultimately, they will stay on the game for a longer time because they want to improve and then ultimately beat their friend at the game. I think that this aspect of the game is probably the most important part of Sonic Racing Transformation.

Artwork:
I would give Sonic Racing Transformed a 7/10. The artwork is really just like classic SEGA artwork. It’s all really pretty and really nice to look at. The characters in the game are a ton of fun and then the track is also really nice. The details of the characters as well as their carts are pretty well drawn and they make the game more fun and everything like that, but I just wish that it was a bit more customizable to where you can kind of decorate your own cart with whatever you feel like instead of choosing among the carts or possibly even building your own cart. Overall, I think that the artwork is really nice and doesn’t really have any solid faults as of now.
Music and SFX
I would give Sonic Racing Transformed a 3/10. The music in Sonic Racing Transformed is pretty fun and makes you want to race more. I think it also kind of taps into that little child self of where you were playing those older racing games in an arcade or something like that. So I think that the music choice is pretty good in terms of it being kind of nostalgic. This makes for a pretty fun game that will give you memories of when you were younger. So I really like the music as well because it also has different music for whenever you are invincible or whenever you enter a different track.
The tracks have their own music which is a lot of fun considering that the music won’t be the same regardless of where you are. The sound effects are also really nice where if you bang on a wall, it is also that classic wall banging that you remember as well as whenever you fall off of the map. The sound effects for the power-ups are also very fun as well. They simply add to the game without making it to exaggerated and too obnoxious to the point where you don’t really want to play anymore.
Story and Originality
I would give Sonic Racing Transformed a 2/10. There is no definite storyline here because it is mainly just a racing game where you want to be the very best. The only kind of storyline that I would imagine this game having would be a storyline where the riders were all trying to get out of a sticky situation where you are essentially screwed because the only one who wins is the last survivor. This would make for a pretty scary storyline, but it would still be a pretty decent storyline.
It would kind of be like a racing Hunger Games where you would be racing each other instead of killing each other. I don’t mean to say that Sonic Racing Transformed needs a story at all, I’m just saying that that is a possible storyline that they could use in order to have a storyline in the first place. I do think that not having a storyline is a pretty good idea considering the amount of racing that there is already which makes it so that you really don’t need any kind of storyline in order to make the game fun. In terms of originality, Sonic Racing Transformed is pretty unique with all of its characters because SEGA made the game, but all in all, the actual concept of the game is not unique.
It is pretty interesting with all of the different characters that are available. Other games that are super similar to this one is just that there is a Nintendo game available on DS that you can play called Mario Kart that is essentially the same game with a couple of different powerups, but you can’t play online. So Sonic Racing Transformed is pretty good in that you can play online against other people which is always a ton of fun and something that every app should implement.
General Gameplay
I would give Sonic Racing Transformed a 3/10. The actual controls and gameplay of Sonic Racing Transformed is kind of unique in that other racing games on mobile suck in terms of the controls, but it also isn’t that unique because the online racing games or other console racing games have these features as well. For example, they do a drift function that allows you to be able to drift around turns so that you are not losing as much speed than if you were to just try and move your joystick to whatever the turn makes you do. They also include a ton of unique power-ups that have multiple functions, but a game that is super similar to this is simply Mario Kart.
Mario Kart and Sonic Racing Transformed are simply from two different companies but pretty much are the same game in terms of the gameplay as well as items. You can kind of tell the competition between the two companies through seeing both games. While Mario Kart is a console game for many different consoles, Sonic Racing Transformed is mainly for computers as well as devices such as an iPhone. The gameplay of Sonic Racing Transformed is also pretty cool in the maps that there is a secret passage that you can use in order to gain access to a shorter route to the finish line. While this is pretty cool, it is pretty simple to continue to win the map over and over again just using the same short cut over and over again, so while there are positives to having shortcuts in the game, it also kind of backs down because you will always win that specific map because you found the shortcut.
I also think that SEGA needs to make the bots harder in order for the game to be more fun for people who don’t really play with friends and even for people who do play with friends. By making the bots harder to a point where it is almost impossible to beat them, it makes people try harder and harder in order to get to a point where they are close to beating the bots. That would make it different from Nintendo in that Nintendo has some decently hard bots, but once you figure out how to drift well, it’s easy as cake.
Addictiveness
I would give Sonic Racing Transformed a 8/10. I think that one of the main things that makes this game so addicting is this multiplayer aspect of the game. You can race against your friends or online opponents by simply connecting to the same internet or finding each other’s phones and racing them. This kind of aspect of the game makes everything a lot more competitive and fun to play. It really entices players to try and get better at the game even if they have beaten all of the bots in every single track. It kind of provokes players to get a lot better and ultimately make them play for a longer time.
This also goes into more people playing the game and more people being online, so that there is more of a multiplayer mode in the game instead of it being a solo adventure which people can get bored with. In a solo adventure, the tracks would seem quite repetitive and boring to play after a while because you have found those secret short cuts and know where all the power-ups are. But once you face off against live people, it gets more addicting because you are facing people who also know the track and know those secret alleyways. This makes it so that it is a lot more competitive and can be a lot more fun than other games right now that don’t have this multiplayer.
I also think that the game is not so much pay to win, but rather that it is more of like you have to have skill in order to beat other people out. This game does discourage a bit of solo adventure due to the in-app purchases that you have to get in order to get the whole game with all of the rival enemy racers as well as all of the bosses. So in that aspect, it can get kind of dull because you won’t have the full game until you spend money, but as long as you are playing with friends, it remains pretty addicting.
Overall Rating
Overall, I would give Sonic Racing Transformed a 8/10. This is because I think that the game as a whole is really fun and unique with all the different characters. The social aspect of the game is also there where you can play against your friends which is the main thing that is going to be popular in the future.
