Because of the fact that Design This Home does not require you to have an internet connection, it has no way to check the time on your device against the time on the server. For starters, the developers of Design This Home seem to have decided to implement a lot of advertisements into the game. The advertisements come in the form of pop-ups, which show up out of nowhere. It makes it feel like the developers are trying to trick people into accidently tapping on the advertisements, just so that they can earn some money through ad-revenue. However, this makes Design This Home feel like a cheap cash grab, which basically ruins the gameplay in some way.
The worst part about the advertisements in Design This Home is that, if you accidently do tap on one of the pop-up advertisements, the game will minimalize itself and your browser will start up, redirecting you to the website of the advertiser. Not only is this very annoying, it is also very obstructive to the gameplay.
The second negative aspect in Design This Home is that you have to wait a long time before any of the furniture gets delivered to their destinations. There are a lot negative reviews about this very problem, but it does not look like the developers really care.

Artwork: I give Design This Home an 8/10 for its artwork. The graphics in Design This Home are cartoon-like and very decent, especially considering that it is a free-to-play mobile game. I really like the fact that the developers have made the game very detailed, and you can obviously see that they have put a lot of thought and time into creating and designing all of the different homes, furniture, appliances and even residents. I also like the fact that the residents walk around in their homes, which makes the gameplay feel more alive. The developers did a very nice job at combining the graphics together with the animations of the game.
Music & SFX: I give Design This Home an 8/10 for its music and SFX. Design This Home has a couple of very decent jazzy soundtracks and several different sound effects. I really like the fact that the soundtracks in Design This Home sound like something you would hear in The Sims, or other similar games. The sound effects range from regular main menu button SFX to successfully completed tasks SFX. Both the soundtracks and sound effects are easy on the ears, which means that they will definitely not bother anyone while they are playing this game.
Story & Originality: I give Design This Home an 8/10 for its story and originality. I have played many mobile simulation games over the years, both on Android and iOS devices; however, I have never played a game like Design This Home before. I really like the fact that the developers of Design This Home took a different approach to the whole “city-builder” concept, and turned it into the designing of homes for other people. Of course, there are still a couple of game mechanics and concepts that have been copied from other games, but everyone does this nowadays. There is no real story behind Design This Home, except for what you learn during the tutorial of the game, which is basically that it was your dream to become an interior designer.
General Gameplay: I give Design This Home a 7/10 for general gameplay. The gameplay in Design This Home starts with a very nice tutorial, in which you learn how to purchase different kinds of objects, how to complete simply tasks, how to take care of the furniture, how to repair broken appliances and how to properly play the game. Once the tutorial is over, the gameplay becomes pretty straightforward, but still entertaining to play due to all the different tasks and quests in the game. I really like the fact that the controls are responsive and smooth and that the user interface is crisp and clear, allowing you to easily navigate through the game.
Addictiveness: I give Design This Home a 4/10 for addictiveness. I could not really say that Design This Home is addictive at all, due to the fact that the game has a very annoying playtime limitation system in it. Every single time that you purchase a piece of furniture or an appliance, you need to wait a certain amount of time for it to get delivered to its destination. The more expensive the object is, the longer you have to wait. When you have progressed through the game a bit, you can find yourself waiting for several hours, up to whole days. On top of that, Design This Home also has advertisements implemented in it, which are very annoying and obstructive. If the developers want to improve the addictiveness of their game, they should definitely look into reading some of the reviews on the app stores, and not ignore them.
All things considered, I give Design This Home a 7/10.
