The ultimate goal in The Walking Dead: Road to Survival is for you to establish a camp and grow it by helping out other survivors and gathering resources. Of course, there are a lot of game elements that you need to consider, before you are able to expand your camp. There are two kinds of resources in The Walking Dead: Road to Survival. The first one is called Food and the second one is called Materials. When you first start playing the game, you have a very low amount of resources, but you can use them to construct farms and material posts on your camp. This way, you will be able to gather Food and Materials after a certain amount of time.
Once you have gathered some resources, you can start expanding your camp with houses, storage facilities and training camps. The more houses and storage facilities you have, the more survivors and resources your camp can hold. Now that you have established a proper camp, you can either play the story mode or go on raids.

The Walking Dead: Road to Survival In-game store
There is only one kind of currency in The Walking Dead: Road to Survival, which is in the form of gold coins. Obtaining gold coins is pretty difficult, especially because of the fact that you only receive them by completing certain missions, achievements and by progressing through the main story of the game. You can use gold coins for a lot of things in The Walking Dead: Road to Survival. Perhaps the most useful way to use gold coins in the game is by speeding things up. Whenever you take an action in the game, such as training survivors to become soldiers, it takes a certain amount of time. You can instantly finish training your survivors by spending gold coins.
You can also use gold coins to purchase items in the in-game store. The in-game store in The Walking Dead: Road to Survival has five different categories. The first category is called Battle Items, in which you can purchase first aid kits, Molotov cocktails and other power-ups and boosters. You can use these items during your battles against zombie hordes and humans.
The second category is called Resources, in which you can purchase Food and Materials for your camp. You can either purchase fifty percent of your total storage space or a hundred percent, which of course is more expensive. Once you have purchased food and materials, you can use them to expand your camp and to upgrade your buildings or train your troops.
The third category is called General, in which you can purchase Ceasefire badges and energy refills. By using ceasefire badges, you will protect yourself from raiders. You can use the energy refill items to refill both your world energy and raid energy, which allows you to instantly continue playing without having to wait for the timers to run out. The forth category is called Featured, and in this category you will find items that are on sale, be it Ceasefire badges, gold coins or different kinds of resources.
The fifth and last category is called Coins, and in this category you can purchase gold coins with real money, if you wish to do so. The price for gold coins starts at $6,49 for the smallest amount of 330 gold coins and goes up till $129,99 for the largest amount of 8250 gold coins. Once you have purchased the gold coins, they will be added to your inventory and you will be able to use them during your gameplay.
There are a lot of websites on the internet that claim they have working cheat tools, hack tools or mods for The Walking Dead: Road to Survival, which you can allegedly use to modify the game files on your mobile device. The websites that offer such tools claim that you will be able to give yourself an unlimited amount of gold coins and in-game resources and they provide fake screenshots to “prove” this to everyone. However, what you will not read on those websites is the fact that the cheat tools are actually fake, and that you are being used, just so that the owners can earn some money.
Before you are able to download the so called cheat tool, you are expected to fill in a survey, which generates a lot of money for the owners of those fake cheat tool websites. A lot of people are willing to do almost anything, just to get their hands on working cheats for their favorite mobile games. After you have filled in a survey and downloaded the so called cheat tool, you will quickly find out that you have been duped, and that the files you have just downloaded are nothing but empty text documents and images. Instead of wasting your time trying to find working cheats for The Walking Dead: Road to Survival, which do not exists, I will give you some tips and tricks that you can use during your gameplay.
The Walking Dead: Road to Survival Gameplay Tips and Tricks
Whenever you start playing The Walking Dead: Road to Survival, there are a few things that are very important to think about, before you take any actions. For starters, it is very important that you are able to provide your camp with food and materials. You need food to train your survivors and to upgrade your raider teams. You will need materials to construct buildings and to upgrade them. Constructing farms and material posts and upgrading them are the first things that you should do in your camp. After that, you can start constructing houses, storages and workshops, which you will need during your gameplay.
Never use your gold coins to instantly complete actions or constructions, unless you are in a hurry and you really need the resources. Gold coins are very difficult to obtain by playing the game, which means that you will never be able to save a lot of them, unless you never spend them and keep progressing through the game. You can use gold coins to purchase different kinds of tokens, which can give you rare survivors, weapons and a lot of resources.
If you are a fan of The Walking Dead television show or comics, than you will definitely enjoy playing The Walking Dead: Road to Survival. Everything from the graphics to the soundtracks and story is absolutely amazing in this game, making it one of the most entertaining mobile games I have ever played. I really like the fact that you can choose which survivors you want to keep on and use during battles against zombie hordes and humans. A very positive aspect about The Walking Dead: Road to Survival is that there are a lot of different game elements and missions/levels, which means that there is a lot of diversity in gameplay.
Another very positive aspect about The Walking Dead: Road to Survival is that the developers did not implement any kind of advertisements into the game. Normally, it is understandable when free-to-play games have advertisements in them, especially if the game took a very long time to design and develop. However, many game and app developers go way too far when it comes to advertisements, and they litter their products with them. Luckily, this is not the case with The Walking Dead: Road to Survival, which means that you will not get bothered, annoyed or obstructed by any kind of advertisements.
Even though The Walking Dead: Road to Survival is a very entertaining and balanced game to play, it also has several negative aspects. For starters, people who spend real money on the game have a big advantage over people that don’t. The Walking Dead: Road to Survival has gold coins in them, which you can use for a lot of things, such as instantly completing constructions and actions and to purchase tokens, which you can use to get rare weapons and characters.
Imagine that someone pays a lot of real money to obtain gold coins and instantly upgrade his camp and his survivors, equip them with rare weapons. This person could very easily raid your camp and take away your hard earned resources. I believe that this is unfair, even if there is a ceasefire system in the game. The developers should know that not everyone can afford to spend money on a free-to-play mobile game, and allow those people to earn gold coins more easily by playing the game, rather than by paying for them.
Another negative aspect about The Walking Dead: Road to Survival is that the developers implemented an energy system into the game. You have two energy bars in the game, one is for regular levels and the other one is for raids. Once you run out of energy, you will either have to wait a while for them to automatically replenish or you will have to spend a lot of gold coins to instantly replenish them. Just like the previous negative aspect, the fact that there are energy bars is a real disadvantage for players who are not able to spend any money on The Walking Dead: Road to Survival. It also slows down the pace of the game and lowers the addictiveness.
The Walking Dead: Road to Survival Ratings
Artwork: I give The Walking Dead: Road to Survival a 9/10 for its artwork. The graphics in The Walking Dead: Road to Survival are perhaps the best quality of graphics I have ever seen in a 2016 mobile game. The world map is pretty generic, and you will easily find the same kind of structures in other city-builder games. However, there is so much more to The Walking Dead: Road to Survival, such as the story map, the different locations, environments, zombie and survivor designs and even level designs. I really like the fact that there are so many animations and special effects during the battles, such as splatters of blood, colorful flashes whenever you hit a critical attack and of course, whenever you use your character’s special attack. All in all, the developers did a perfect job at combing the graphics with the animations of the game.
Music & SFX: I give The Walking Dead: Road to Survival an 8/10 for its music and SFX. There are several different soundtracks and a lot of different sound effects in The Walking Dead: Road to Survival, making the game sound as beautiful as the graphics make it look. It is very nice to hear when the soundtracks change, depending on what you are doing in the game. The battle soundtrack is very thrilling, which makes the gameplay even more exciting. The sound effects range from regular menu button SFX to the different kinds of attacks SFX. The soundtracks and sound effects fit each other very nicely and are very easy on the ears, assuring that you will not get bothered by them while you are playing The Walking Dead: Road to Survival.
Story & Originality: I give The Walking Dead: Road to Survival a 7/10 for its story and originality. There are a lot of different city-builder games available on both Android and iOS devices, which basically require you to do the same things as in The Walking Dead: Road to Survival. For example, I have played at least five other mobile games where I had to collect resources, construct buildings and upgrade them and of course, wait for the timer to run out. Fortunately, the developers of The Walking Dead: Road to Survival did implement some fancy and original battle mechanics and a lot of different characters. Of course, there is a very nice story behind the gameplay as well, which you need to progress through, in order to complete the game.
General Gameplay: I give The Walking Dead: Road to Survival an 8/10 for general gameplay. The gameplay in The Walking Dead: Road to Survival starts with a very nicely build tutorial, which teaches you how to construct buildings in your camp, how to upgrade those buildings, how to make teams, how to raid other players and how to successfully progress through the story of the game. After a while, the gameplay becomes pretty straightforward but still very entertaining and thrilling, due to the fact that there are a lot of missions, levels, achievements and events. The controls are responsive and the user interface nicely fits the overall theme of the game.
Addictiveness: I give The Walking Dead: Road to Survival an 8/10 for addictiveness. If I can be entirely honest, I found myself hooked on The Walking Dead: Road to Survival, even though there are energy bars in the game. Normally, I dislike the fact when you are expected to spend money on a free-to-play game, just to refill your energy. The fact that the game does not have any annoying and obstructive advertisements simply enhances the addictiveness as well.
All things considered, I give The Walking Dead: Road to Survival an 8/10.
