This section will show the in-game interface in the Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution. The interface is very similar to other fighting games - it does not cover the view, and it contains only the most important information. However, there are a few differences between this game, and a "typical" fighting game, in the form of Chakra bar, substitution segments, as well as Storm Bar.
The left upper corner shows the health bar of the character [1] - if it is depleted, the battle is over. [2] Shows the Chakra, which is an equivalent of mana / energy from other games - it allows the player to use different techniques or to strengthen normal attacks. [3] Shows the Storm Bar, which, during the course of the encounter (landing and taking hits) fill up - when this happens, it offers the possibility to use a special ability. [4] Shows the substitution segments - the number of segments which are completely filled represents the number of substitution that the character is able to use. In the lower left corner of the screen [5] there are Ninja Artifacts, which are wielded by the character. Opposite [6] there's an information about the possible key combination for a special ability. Between the health bars of both characters [7] there's the timer - if it reaches 0, the battle will be over.
The game vastly differs from a typical fighting game, as there is a number of mechanics, which are impossible to find in other products. That is why I have decided to put a little in-game terminology section in this guide, which, without it, may turn out to be incomprehensive to those who aren't interested in the titular manga / anime. Those are:
This may very well be your first contact with a fighting game from the Naruto franchise, and given the fact that they are a little specific, you can have trouble comprehending all that is happening on the screen. Here's a list of quick tips, which will surely come in handy at the start of your journey:
Your first fight in the Ninja Escapades is probably the easiest one as well. The reason for that is fairly simple - Kakuzu isn't the strongest character, and Pain is way more effective than him.
Your enemy is a typical melee range fighter and it's there where he's the most effective - you should be extra careful about his grab, which has a deceptively long reach (and like any attack from that group cannot be blocked), as well as his Ultimate Jutsu, which he can grab you with from mid-range. The only worth noting ranged attack at his disposal is trivial to avoid - all you have to do is to simply jump away, or use your Chakra Rush and you will surely emerge without a scar.
Pain is extremely effective versus enemies who happen to be very close to him - you can use his Jutsu (Almighty Push) to stop any ranged attack fired at you, damage the enemy you managed to caught in it, and throw him a few feet back. This maneuver is especially effective when Kakuzu tries to overwhelm you with his attacks - all you have to do is to dodge his attack (use substitution to get behind his back) and active your jutsu.
If you want to receive a bonus, finish the enemy by using your ultimate jutsu.
Konan's Ultimate Jutsu is deadly when you can get very close to the enemy.
The second fight shows the differences in fighting styles perfectly - the character you will be fighting with, Konan, is the most effective when she can fight in melee range (although she can use some mid and long ranged attacks as well), and your enemy, Sasori, is a puppeteer, fighting from a very long distance. It means, that if you want to lay any damage on your enemy, you will have to fight your way through the puppet - you have to hit Sasori himself to deal any damage. Watch out for his Ultimate Jutsu - he will shoot cube-like projectile at you, but it's fairly simple to dodge it, or you can just use your block to negate all the damage.
The most difficult aspect of this fight is to get close to the enemy - if you manage to do so, you will gain a huge advantage over the enemy. Konan certainly isn't the fastest fighter there is, but her attacks deal a significant amount of damage, and her Ultimate Jutsu is extremely hard to dodge, if you link it with your attack combos - unfortunately, this technique has a very short range, which means that you may have some problems to earn the bonus for this stage.
If you want to receive a bonus, finish the enemy by using your ultimate jutsu.
The enemy will hide under the water constantly, making it hard for you to lay any attack on him.
One of the most difficult fight in Ninja Escapades. The reason for that is the same which made the previous fight easy - you will be fighting using Sasori, who is effective on an very long range, whereas your opponent, Orochimaru, is extremely strong in melee combat. The enemy can easily jump past your puppet and get to your real body in a matter of seconds.
During this encounter you will be using your Chakra Rush almost constantly - use it offensively (which will make your puppet rush to the enemy) as well as defensively (to jump away from the enemy, who managed to get past your puppet and is heading your way). Sasori's Ultimate Jutsu is practically useless during this fight - your enemy is far too mobile for you to hit him with it (what makes things worse is that Orochimaru can jump into the water, which renders him immune to your attacks unless he emerges from it again), unless you manage to catch him doing any activity (like preparing to use his own jutsus). That is why you should only opt to use it at the end of the battle, to earn your bonus. The whole fight is extremely irritating, especially when you are trying to end the battle with a decent score, as well as finish the enemy with your Ultimate Jutsu.
If you want to receive a bonus, finish the enemy by using your ultimate jutsu.
Do not let the enemy gain any distance from you at all costs.
This fight is very similar to the previous one, with only one difference - the roles will be reversed. Your character, Itachi, is strong in melee combat, while your enemy, Deidara, is extremely strong (and annoying) at long range combat - the bigger the distance between you too, the more you will struggle. You have to stick to the enemy at all costs and prevent him from gaining any distance - after this happens, he will swarm you with his explosive attacks, and there's a chance that you will lose a whole health bar before you are able to do anything.
Deidara is very vulnerable in close quarters, meaning that you shouldn't have any problems with him there - remember to make use of Itachi's jutsus, especially his "normal" one, in which he sends a clone to follow the enemy. When the clone gets closer to his target, it violently explodes, damaging the enemy. His ultimate jutsu has one of the shortest ranges in the game, but it can be easily applied by using two methods - shortly after dodging the attack (with substitution) and jumping behind the enemy's back, or by standing near his body (when he was knocked down) to activate it just as he is getting up (it's hard to time right, and the enemy can still run away if you do it perfectly, but it's possible.
If you want to receive a bonus, finish the enemy by using your ultimate jutsu.
Team Ultimate Jutsu is incredibly hard to dodge.
The encounter with Hidan is a rather easy one - both your character(Kakuzu) and your enemy's are most effective at melee combat, meaning that, at least in theory, no one should have any advantage. One of the things you must be extra careful are Hidan's combo attacks - if he starts his several-hit attack, use your block and/or jump away from him. A single substitution and jumping behind his back won't do any good - the enemy will just turn back and continue his onslaught. If you are unable to dodge this attack, you will lose at least 1/3 of your health bar.
You will have a really big advantage over Hidan during this encounter - for the first time in Ninja Escapades, you will be accompanied by a companion (in this case - Orochimaru). You can use him in two ways - to activate Team Ultimate Jutsu (after you've filled your Storm Bar an information with the proper key combination will appear on the screen), which will deal a lot more damage than your "normal" ultimate jutsu, and it's a lot easier to apply, because it's very unlikely that the enemy will manage to stop you. The second application of your ally is to summon him/her on the battlefield, to do a single maneuver. It will not deal a lot of damage, but you can use it to link your attacks together, or to stop Hidan from approaching you when you are charging your chakra.
If you want to receive a bonus, finish the enemy by using your ultimate jutsu.
Shisui's Ultimate Jutsu is one of the most badass looking attacks in the whole game!
Your fight with Itachi will be quite an easy one, because the character you will be fighting with (Shisui) works in a similar manner, but he's a little more effective than your enemy. Shisui is deadly in close combat, and his Ultimate Jutsu operates in the same manner as that of Itachi's - the only difference is the attack's animation.
You will notice that your character differs greatly from all of the previous you had to fight with up now (in Ninja Escapades, of course). Shisui is very mobile, he jumps around the battlefield like a lightning, and despite the fact that his single attacks do rather little damage, it's very easy to perform his full combos (given his extreme speed and mobility) and link it with his jutsu, in which the youngster performs a series of quick ranged attacks. Such a combination will surely take a good chunk off the enemy's health and is trivial to perform.
While fighting with Itachi, you must be very careful about his clones - they move slowly, but due to inattention you can accidentally run into one of them, which will cost you a lot of health. If the enemy uses his Ultimate Jutsu, all you have to do is to simply jump away in any direction, or do a substitution.
If you want to receive a bonus, finish the enemy by using your ultimate jutsu.
The enemy will surely overdose his throw attack.
This encounter is very similar to the previous one - in this case your enemy, Danzo, will be trying to fight you in close-range combat (just as Itachi did), but he's a little more effective than your previous enemy. First of all, you have to watch out for his throw attack, which the enemy will surely use over and over again - if you are close to the enemy, try to attack him all the time to prevent him from using this maneuver (do not stand in one place and refrain from blocking, as throws cannot be blocked).
Another thing you must be aware of are his attack combinations - he performs a series of powerful, but very slow attacks, which are quite easy to dodge, especially when you have your substitution available. Don't let the enemy catch you off guard (when you can't use your substitution technique), because you will surely receive some damage - if you decide to block you will be thrown, and if you won't block you will be hit multiple times by his combo.
Danzo is a lot slower than Shisui and you should abuse this as much as you can, constantly bombarding the enemy with your swift attacks. You can use your Ultimate Jutsu when the enemy tries to close the distance on you, to lure him into your trap.
If you want to receive a bonus, finish the enemy by using your ultimate jutsu.
This fight with Danzo finishes the Ninja Escapades - the next one, "The Far Reaches of Hope" is a series of cutscenes, during which you won't have to fight anyone else anymore. Relax, sit back and enjoy the show.
Ninja World Tournament is the longest, most complex game mode in the game - your task is to get through different ranks of the tournament (D, C, B, A, S and S+), which will pose an increasing challenge to you. The actual gameplay begins just as you land on the shore - you will now have to select the character you will play during the tournament with. Remember, that the choice is permanent (at least for most ranks) - if you decide to change your character, you will have to start a given rank from the beginning.
The place in which you can register for the tournament. After selecting your hero of choice, you will be informed to go to the East, from your starting location, to register in the ninja tournament. Next to the registration window, there's a save point, looking like a bird feeder, or a pigeon stand - the game is saved automatically in key moments (after a fight, or after you've completed a side quest, for instance), but, as always, it's still better to save it yourself, whenever you have the chance to do so, so that you will be certain that you won't lose any game progress when something goes wrong.
Save your game and speak with the NPC at the D Rank Tournament Reception. You will be informed, that you first have to finish a preliminary round, before you will have a chance to fight in the actual tournament. You now have some spare time to explore the island - if you want to continue and take part in the preliminary round, speak with the NPC again and skip the next chapter of this guide and go straight to "Qualifying Round".
If you, however, want to explore the island first, go to the next chapter.
A treasure attached to a parachute.
After saving the game at the save point and registering to the qualifying round of rank D, you can now start your free roam across the island. Unfortunately, before you finish the next rounds of the tournaments (ranks C to S), you won't have access to most parts of the island. But you can still do some research.
First things first, you should be interested in treasures scattered around the whole island - they can be buried in the ground (signaled by a specific arrow), hidden in various containers (boxes, chests, barrels, piles of lumber, etc.) or hanging in the air, on a small parachute. Each of those treasures contain a random, usable item, money, discount tickets, or even lottery tickets (those last are the most valuable, as they allow you to draw various prizes).
Each treasure can always be found in the same, exact spot, and they are restored upon every event (finishing a side quest, taking part in a fight, etc.) or when you leave and reenter the location. It's a perfect mean of obtaining loads of useful items and a lot of money in a very short span of time - whenever you can (i.e. whenever you are close to a treasure) you should spend the time and pick it up.
Almost each map has a shop of its own (in the higher ranks, each shop offer a narrowed group of goods) (open the in-game map if you can't find the shop you are interested in - it will be marked with an appropriate symbol), in which you can buy various items (remember to use a discount ticked, when you are planning some bigger shopping-spree). The amount of money shouldn't really be a bother to you (especially if you completed the Ninja Escapades) and you should have no trouble with buying anything you want. There are two issues with the shop, however - the shop does not offer anything interesting at the moment, and you still cannot use more than two ninja artifacts at the same time (they are unlocked along your progress in the tournament). However, it's still worth to go to the shop and buy all the Lexicons - they will come in handy during one of the side quest (you don't have to buy them, of course, as you have this guide).
Another important stop on your exploration trip is the lottery (Lucky Lotto Land - marked with an appropriate symbol on the map). Here you can use your Lottery and Lucky Lottery Tickets - you will be given them for extraordinary score during the tournament fights (battle rank S, for instance), can be found inside treasures, and you will be given them for spending a lot of money in the shop at a time (15,000 ryo, for instance). Lottery Tickets allow you to draw interesting rewards - ranging from the items you can easily buy in the store, character cards, titles to ultimate jutsus. They aren't a necessity to finish the game, but you are interested in collecting various items in the game, it's surely worth trying.
Network Clones of other players are scattered around the island. The last thing, that will await you in this (and not only) party of the island, are random encounters with Network Clones of other players. They are scattered around the whole island (marked by an orange symbol on the minimap) and they will be there unless you engage them in combat. Another clones will appear after completing some activity, like, for instance, a side quest, or a tournament round.
You should fight them whenever you stumble upon them - if you win a fight, you will be given a whole bunch of new items (like the possibility of using the network clone and his allies as your own network clones), not to mention a huge amount of money. Don't mind the fact that most of them will have a much higher level than you have - those enemies are controlled by a computer and defeating them (most of the time) is a piece of cake.
Right now you don't have anything more to do here and you should head to the next chapter, to continue your adventure with the ninja tournament.
You will be fighting in a Free for All mode, with 3 different enemies.
After you've completed exploring the island, go back to the D Rank Tournament Reception, speak with the NPC again, which will start the qualifying round. After a series of cutscenes you will be transferred to the battleground, where a significantly differing combat type awaits you.
First things first, you will be fighting with 3 different foes at the same time, in Free for All mode. The second novelty is the fact, that you won't have your typical health bar here. Instead, every contestant gets 1,000 battle orbs. After each hit delivered to the enemy (or when the opponent hits you), he will drop a certain amount of orbs - the more damage was done (with a full combo, for instance), the more orbs will be dropped. The orbs squeezed out of your enemies (or the ones you dropped) should be picked up as soon as possible, as they are added to your supply.
Collect Battle Orbs and bring the enemy supply of it to 0 to drop him/her out of the arena! After the amount of enemy's (or yours) battle orbs goes to 0, the target will be briefly stunned - if it is attacked during this period, he/she will be dropped out of the arena and excluded from the rest of the round. Your goal is to finish the encounter (by dropping out every enemy out of the arena, or after a certain amount of time has passed) with the highest amount of Battle Orbs. Try to collect as much of them as possible, as you will be rewarded with more money and a higher battle rank for doing so.
During the encounter you should focus on two things - you should isolate one of the enemies, which will allow you to attack him without anyone else intervening. The second 'rule' is to select a proper target - at the very beginning, you will have to decide, which target is the most dangerous (or most annoying) one (for instance, a long-ranged character when you are playing with a slow-moving, melee fighter) and try to eliminate him/her as fast as possible, to make the whole encounter a lot easier, as there's nothing more annoying as an enemy who swarms you with rain of attacks, from the other side of the arena.
After completing the qualifying round you will be enlisted to the preliminary round. New items will be available at the shop as well. Go to the next chapter to continue.
After you've completed the qualifying round, you will be informed, that the next step differs slightly from the previously finished one. The difference is, that you will now be fighting as a team - at the very beginning it will be a 2-man squad, increasing up to 5 people as the ranks go higher. It means, that you will need to find yourself a partner, who will accompany you in this part of the tournament.
There are two options here - you can either choose from the characters which are available since the beginning of the tournament, or do some of the side quests, called Ally Event, to gain the trust of ninjas you will be doing the quest for, thus allowing you to select them as partners during the ninja tournament. There's only a few characters available at the very beginning, which means, that completing various Ally Events becomes rather mandatory, if you want to create a specific team. Most of those quests are fairly easy, so it's worth to do them - the description of each and every Ally Event can be found in the "Ninja World Tournament - Ally Events" chapter.
If you want to unlock new allies, go to the Festival Beach, where you will find two ninjas, talking with each other. Start a conversation with them, to start the event itself - go to "5 Difficult Question" in "Ninja World Tournament - Ally Events" for more detailed information.
Regardless of whether you've completed the side quest or not, go to the NPC in charge of registration (D Rank Tournament Reception) and confirm your readiness to take part in the preliminary round. You will now have to select your ally, with which you will be fighting in the preliminary round. The choice is, obviously, irrelevant, as you can pick anyone you want, but I would strongly suggest to pick characters you are familiar with, because, contrary to your first thought, that character won't be controlled by a computer player, but by you yourself.
Battle Orbs from different rounds are cumulative. The whole preliminary round is divided into two parts - in both of them you will be fighting with only one of your characters, and that is precisely why it is so important to take a character you are familiar with. The fight itself is the same as in the previous round - you will again have a pool of Battle Orbs, and you have to steal them from your enemies, collecting those which are dropped from your foes. The only difference is that the orbs you managed to collect in the first round will be transferred to the next one, and they are added to those your character start in the second round. For instance, you've won the first round and you've managed to collect a total of 2,500 Battle Orbs - you will start the second round with 3,500 Battle Orbs (2,500 from the first round, and 1,000 from the second). To win the preliminary round, you have to finish the second round with the highest amount of Battle Orbs.
After finishing the preliminary round, new items will be added to the shop (it's worth to check them out, as there should be more powerful versions of the ones you're currently using), and you will be automatically enlisted in the Main Round of D Rank. Go to the next chapter to continue.
This phase differs in only one aspect - you will be fighting with a 3-man team, meaning that you will have to add someone to your dream-team. As it was in the previous round, you can either select a character from an already available pool, or do some Ally Events to unlock new ones. If you want to unlock some new allies, go to the lottery point, where you will find a group of 4 ninjas. Just as with the previous side-quest, talk to any of them to initiate the event itself - go to "One Rowdy Training" in "Ninja World Tournament - Ally Events" for more detailed information.
You should also pay attention to new items present at the store - after the last two stages of Rank D tournament, there will new, more powerful items available there, some of which are just stronger version of the ones you are already using. You can either buy them in the shop, or check your inventory if you don't have them already (from hidden treasures, for instance).
Regardless of whether you've completed the side quest or not, go to the NPC in charge of registration (D Rank Tournament Reception) and confirm your readiness to take part in the main round of the Rank D Tournament. Just like last time, you will have to select allies to join your team - this round takes place between 3-man squads. I would strongly recommend to select fighters you are familiar with, to make the event a lot easier.
This round is divided into three parts, and in which of them you will be fighting using only one character, selected before the fight. A good idea is to take your most powerful (or the one you are most familiar with) character for the 3rd, final round, so that you can make up for any mistakes done in the previous rounds (if they occur). Just like it was before, Battle Orbs collected in one round are transferred to the second, and then to the third round. The one who collects the highest amount of orbs is the victor.
After finishing the main battle of Rank D of the ninja tournament, you will be given a choice to select one of three rewards. The choice is yours, but you should either take the third one ( if you want to have more money), or the second one (if you are into character customization) of them - the first one is useless, as the character will be unlocked with Ryo gain either way. If you, however, want to have access to that character now, you can select the first reward.
After selecting the reward you will be transferred back to the main menu, and you will unlock a new option in the Ninja World Tournament - "Mecha-Naruto Story". Besides that, the shops will get a few more interesting items. Go to the next chapter, "Ninja World Tournament - Mecha-Naruto Story" to continue.
Mecha-Naruto Story is an additional mode in the Ninja World Tournament - most of your items from the "regular" tournament won't be available to you, meaning that you will have to get them again, if you want to use them. Additionally, you are limited to Naruto (most of the time) character only, because the whole story of this mode is concentrated on the interaction of this hero and the titular Mecha-Naruto.
Here it is, Mecha-Naruto.You will start at the entrance to the village, near which there's a character you must speak with, to start your journey. Talk with Hinata, to, after a long conversation and a series of short cutscenes, regain control of your character. You will learn that you are currently in the Festival Island, or to be more precise, on the terrain belonging to A Rank. It's a chance to explore this part of the island, because after you finish your quest here, you won't be able to get here again unless you've finished B Rank of the Ninja World Tournament. Most of the entrances here are locked, and the only things you will have access to are hidden treasures. You can easily ignore it, as there are only a few of those treasures here.
You should now head North, to rejoin Hinata, after which a long series of cutscenes will initiate, during which you will meet Mecha-Naruto.
After going back to the village, you will regain control over your character - save the game and run down the stairs (to the North of your actual position), to initiate another cutscene. The next day you will have to, yet again, join Hinata and Mecha-Naruto by the village entrance. Before you do so, you can use the opportunity and look around the village. It's divided into several section, and most of them hold something of interest, like shop, or lottery. If you want to look around the village, you can search for various treasures scattered around, but there's nothing of any importance to found. Otherwise, go straight to the mentioned gate, start the conversation with Hinata and go to the next chapter - "Mecha-Naruto - qualifying round".
During the conversation, a series of animated cutscenes will initiate, after which you will learn that you will be taking part in the qualifying round of the ninja tournament. You will be fighting in a 3-man squad, but this time you won't be able to select its squad on your own, as it will be forced upon you. Your team will consist of Naruto, Hinata and Mecha-Naruto. The rules are fairly simple and similar to previous rank of the tournament - the whole battle is divided into three rounds, during which you will be fighting with three other enemies. Select one fighter for each round and prepare for the encounter. I would strongly suggest to select Mecha-Naruto as your first character, as fighting with him is somewhat specific.
An action on a vertical railing...A first novelty awaits you - traps on the arena. They are generated randomly on the terrain and each character to stumble upon them will initiate a specific effect - dealing damage, knocking down, etc. You don't have to pay much attention to them, as they don't deal any real damage, and it's rather hard to fall into them. The second novelty are rail actions. Those are places on the outskirts of the arena, which offer an interesting maneuver - all you have to do is to get close to them and press the button indicated on the screen.
... and on a horizontal one. Use them as often as you can! Those actions are divided into two groups - vertical and horizontal. The first type offers you the ability to jump high into the air - afterwards, you will have a couple of second to select your place of landing. Next, your character will smash into the ground, in the indicated place, dealing damage to every foe in the range of the red circle. The horizontal rails require a little bit of "powering up" - after jumping on them, you will have to mash the attack button as fast as possible, to prepare the attack. If you managed to fill the bar, your character will jump out of the rail and attack a target (the one you have focus on), dealing quite some damage. Both of those actions allow you to have some breathing space when things went south, as well as are a great source of tons of Battle Orbs. You should use them as often as you can. Remember that the rail will vanish after you've used it (after several seconds a new one will appear) and that the computer controlled characters can use them as well.
Hinata's Jutsu allow you to attack multiple foes at once, dropping, literally, a sea of Battle Orbs.If you've selected Mecha-Naruto as your first character, you will notice that his fighting style is rather specific - he is sluggish and has short reach with his attacks, but they can deal some serious damage. You should focus on spamming his Jutsu (Ultimate Jutsu is locked) - it's activated almost instantaneously, and Mecha-Naruto will quickly move a long distance to his target and deal damage. Just like in any other round, locate the most dangerous foe (a long-ranged ninja, for instance) and take him out in the first place.
The rest of the rounds shouldn't be of any challenge - especially when you are playing Hinata. She is a perfect melee combatant, and her Jutsu can hit multiple foes, dropping insane amounts of Battle Orbs (if you manage to hit all 3 of them, you will gain almost 1,000 of them at once!). Just like before, any Battle Orbs you earn will be transferred to the next round and the one who manages to collect the highest amount is the victor. After the fight a series of cutscenes await you, after which you will be given a new task - to go to the training area. To get there, run through the village gate (to the South) and go along the pathway until you initiate a cutscene. Go to the next chapter to continue.
After reaching the destination in the previous chapter, the action will move to Mecha-Naruto. After another series of cutscenes you will gain control over him - go to the same place you went with Naruto a few moments ago. After yet another series of cutscenes, you will learn, that Naruto and Mecha-Naruto had swapped with their bodies - Naruto's soul is now in the body of his mechanical alter-ego. After regaining control over the ninja, go back to the village, save the game and run down the stairs to initiate a conversation with Hinata.
During the first moments Mecha-Naruto will only be able to walk.Afterwards, you will regain control over Mecha-Naruto. Your task is to go to the center of the village, near the Ichiraku ramen store. After getting to the place, run to a group of ninjas standing on the crossroads, to start another conversation. You will now learn that you have to complete several tasks for Sakura. To do so, go to the Employment Office, which can be found in the square, near the lottery point (open up the map, if you can't find the office). To continue, go to the next chapter.
The Employment Office offers additional side-quests - if you complete them, you will be given (besides money, obviously) various rewards, which is why it's worth to do them when you have the possibility. This time you will have to complete 3 tasks to push the story. Those are: "Seeking a Training Partner!", "Urgent! Need Bento Lunch Deliverers!" and "Help with Calculating Statistical Materials".
After accepting the quest, you will be automatically transferred to the place in which you can complete it. The whole purpose of this task is combat - you will have to defeat your enemy, Konohamaru, as a part of his training. The fight is trivial, as the enemy specializes in close combat, just like Mecha-Naruto, but your character is way more effective in this manner. Given the fact, that this is not one of the tournament battles, you will have access to your Ultimate Jutsu - use it, as it deals huge amounts of damage and is extremely easy to perform. After you've defeated your enemy you will be transferred back to the Employment Office, be given a reward and you will be able to take up another task.
During this quest, you will have to run across the village - you have to deliver three packages with bento. Your destinations are: Ichiraku Ramen shop, General Store Bandai and item Shop Hagakure.
Begin your delivery route from the General Store Bandai. Inside you will learn that the shopkeeper is not the recipient - a ninja, which can be found near the village gate, is the one you should deliver it to. The next target is the Ichiraku Ramen, near which you were a few moments earlier, speaking with Sakura and Shikamaru. Afterwards, go near the village gate and enter the Item Shop Hagakure to deliver the second bento to the shopkeeper. All you have to do now is to exit the store and speak with a ninja with a violet icon above his head, standing near the gate. After delivering the bentos you will be automatically transferred to Employment Office, where you will receive your reward.
The last task you have to do from the Employment Office. After accepting it you will be transferred to the Hokage Mansion, where you will have to do a few simple mathematical calculations. Answer the questions in this way:
After answering the questions the task will be completed and you will be transferred back to the Employment Office. Afterwards, go back to the village gate and speak with Shikamaru and Sakura, which will initiate a series of cutscenes. After they are finished, you will regain control of your character and will be back at the village gate. Go back to the Western section of the village to sleep and go to the next chapter to continue.
After you wake up, you will be visited by Hinata, and after a short conversation will be on the tournament arena. You will have to fight your original body - Naruto.
The whole encounter is fairly simple, because after playing with this character for the last several dozens of minutes, you should be familiar with his moveset. Both characters fight in close ranged, that is why you will have to focus on proper usage of your block, dodges and substitutions - you should especially remember about the last one, as the enemy can use a powerful combo, which will take half of your health at once. You should always keep one or two substitution ready. After the fight ends, a series of cutscenes will occur, after which...
Yup, that's right - your enemy used his cheap trick again and swapped your bodies, which means that you will again be fighting using Naruto. You change sides, but the encounter wouldn't really be a problem, if not for one fact - Naruto is battered after the last encounter, and that is why you begin this fight with only one health bar, meaning that you will have half the health of your opponent. The encounter shouldn't be a problem if you avoid two things - getting hit by Mecha-Naruto jutsus, and his combos. Both dangers can be avoided with proper usage of substitution, as well as by constantly attacking your enemy - he won't be able to do anything if you overwhelm him. Because of the fact that you only have half of your health, you may have to repeat this round a few times, especially when you want to get a high score for this round. After you've defeated Mecha-Naruto, another series of cutscenes will initiate. Go to the next chapter to continue.
It's still not over yet with your mechanical Naruto alter-ego. It seems that the enemy has "transformed" and fled the arena. During the conversation in the Hokage Mansion, you will learn that the ninjas from other villages have been given an order to finish him off, but Naruto, as always, won't sit around patiently and decides to save his new companion. After the conversation ends, run straight to the village gate, where Hinata awaits your arrival - speak with her and you will be transferred to the area of Rank D ninja tournament.
You can use the services of the merchant, who can be found directly in front of your landing location - after the last few bouts he should have some interesting items. If you open the world map, you will notice, that the whole tournament area is unlocked - unfortunately, you won't be able to enter anything besides the area you are currently in. To continue, you have to head North, until you reach a blockade formed by a pile of corpses -turn to the East, into a narrow passage, and a cutscene will intimate.
Don't let the enemy gain any distance.Getting near Mecha-Naruto won't be so easy as you would want to - you will be encountered by man ninjas while doing so, whose purpose is to stop you. One of them is a Darui and Shi. Fighting them is trivial, especially because you will have Hinata to help you out. The girl is extremely effective in close range - use her when you have caught the enemy with your combo (to make more damage), or when the enemy closes in on you to attack. Darui is a melee fighter, so you should have no problems to get rid of him and Shi. After you've defeated the duo, continue your journey to the North - ignore the passageway on the left and the stairs on the right side, as you can't go through there anyway.
In the narrow passageway you will stumble upon two Kages - Ohnoki and Mei. The levitating midget deals a lot of damage with his attacks, but he is extremely sluggish, meaning that you should have no problem to avoid his attacks. The enemy uses long-raged attacks (tossing rocks at you), so try to be on the move as much as you can, and close the distance on the enemy - if you let him get away from you, you can lose a lot of health. After the fight is finished, you can scan around the local hills (climbing up the ladders to get there) to collect some ninja artifacts and money. Afterwards, go North.
One of the most dangerous close-ranged enemies in the game. You will have fight another pair of enemies - Ei and Mifune. This is one of the most difficult fights so far - Raikage is one of the most dangerous and effective melee-ranged fighters in the game. The enemy moves are quick and he does a lot of damage - this effect is only amplified when he uses his awakening. If you see a characteristic lightning aura around the enemy, you should be extra careful and take advantage of your substitutions, because Ei can quickly drain your whole health bar. The best way is to simply stay away from him until the enemy uses up his whole chakra and the awakening effect is over.
After you've defeated the enemy, continue your march through a narrow passageway. You should soon stumble upon a save point and a merchant. By all means save the game, use the merchant if you want to and continue marching to the South, where a couple of injured ninjas can be found, to initiate a scene, after you will meet will your target.
The first round with the nine-tails mode is fairly simple - if you've ever used the True Awakening of Naruto, you should be familiar with what's ahead of you. The enemy moves a lot faster than in his 'regular" Mecha-Naruto form, and his attacks have a longer reach. Fortunately, he has one major flaw - despite his quick movement, his attacks are sluggish and are easy to avoid with your substitution, or you can even block them, meaning that you can easily avoid taking any damage at all. Take advantage of the fact that you are accompanied by Hinata and call her whenever you've used up your substitutions, and the enemy catches you in his combo. Remember to avoid his area of effect attacks - a red circle will appear on the ground, and after a few seconds the area will explode. You just have to jump out of the circle to avoid taking any damage. After winning this fight...
The enemy has once more transformed, and the most annoying battle in the game now awaits you. The enemy is much larger than before, and with that he has a few new tricks up his sleeve:
There are two novelties during this fight - besides Hinata, you will also have Mecha-Naruto to help you out. The second one is your own character - Naruto will be fighting in his Kurama-mode, changing the array of his attacks and jutsus (unfortunately, you won't have access to your Ultimate Jutsu, as you are playing a character in True Awakening). You must try to dodge the enemy attacks at all costs - if he starts waving his claws, jump to a safe distance to avoid wasting your substitutions. Launch your own attacks in between the enemy's and use your jutsu only in two cases - when your companions are keeping the enemy busy, or by incorporating it into your combo. Afterwards a long series of cutscenes will initiate, after which this section of ninja tournament will be finished.
To take part in the Rank D Ninja World Tournament, start the "Ninja World Tournament" from the main menu and select the option to continue the game. You will be asked to select your character again, after which you will land on the beach again. During the cutscene you will learn that you have gained access to another part of the island (Rank C - located in the caves), and that you've unlocked the access to Challenges. To take part in them, go back to D Rank Tournament Reception - a nearby window will now be hosting an NPC with a list of challenges.
Rank C of Ninja World Tournament will be unlocked after you've finished the previous rank - D. The gameplay is fairly the same - you still have to play a qualifying round, after which there's a preliminary and finally main round, after which you will complete the C Rank of the tournament and gain access to the next one (B) and further section of the island.
To start your journey in this class, go to the previously mentioned cave, in which the events of Rank C of tournament take place. The entrance to the cave can be found to the North-West from the place you landed on the beach. You can also use the quick-travel option, provided by an NPC called Teleportation Ninja. It's a special NPC which appeared after you've completed Rank D of the tournament - with that character you can select a place to which you want to teleport in a matter of seconds. As you unlock higher ranks and further parts of the island, the Teleportation Ninja will give you access to wider range of teleports. Teleportation Ninja can always be found near a Reception window.
After entering the cave, run along the tunnel, until you reach the plaza, where all the shops and Employment Office are located. You can, before you start the tournament, do some side-quests, if you want to. If you want to unlock new allies for the ninja tournament, go to the "Ninja World Tournament - Ally Events" chapter of this guide, to "Basking in the Limelight" mission, and if you want to do some extra work, go to Employment Office.
If you want to enter the Rank C ninja tournament, go to C Rank Tournament Reception, to register yourself, after which you will take part in the qualifying round.
Rank C qualifying round is the same as each round you've been in before.
Rank C qualifying round is the same as each round you've been in before - again you will select a 3-man team and you will assign a single fighter to each of three rounds. Your job is to finish all three rounds by having the highest amount of Battle Orbs. The difficulty level of Rank C qualifying round is almost the same of those before it - you should have no trouble with dealing with the enemies.
After finishing this round, you will be automatically enlisted to the preliminary round - to take part in it, speak with NPC in C Rank Tournament Reception again. Before you do so, however, you can take part in two additional Ally Events - "Tiny and Rare Flower of Value" and "The Way of Food". If you are interested, go to the "Ninja World Tournament - Ally Events" chapter to find detailed information about them. It's worth to visit local stores, where you should find some new, useful items.
Approach the NPC in C Rank Tournament Reception again to take part in the preliminary round. Just as it was before, you will have make your way through three rounds, in which you have to collect the more Battle Orbs than your enemies. This round will introduce a new - and at the same time extremely important - mechanic.
True Awakening and Ultimate Jutsu orbs give gigantic advantage over the enemy. From time to time, one of two special Orbs will appear on the arena - True Awakening orb or Ultimate Jutsu orb. As you've probably already guessed, they give access to one of the two mechanics which are normally blocked during the ninja tournament - ultimate jutsu and true awakening. It goes without saying how important it is to get one of those in your own hands - they give huge advantage over your enemies. The Ultimate Jutsu will drop a mass of Battle Orbs from the enemy (1,000), but allows for a single attack only, while True Awakening will make your character stronger, faster, and alter your attacks.
Besides this, the whole encounter is the same as always. After defeating your foes, you will be enlisted to the main round of the C rank of ninja tournament, and you will be able to do two additional Ally Events - "Crossed with Money" and "Bee's Ordeal". If you are interested, go to the "Ninja World Tournament - Ally Events" chapter to find detailed information about them. It's worth to visit local stores, where you should find some new, useful items.
After you've completed (or not - it depends on you) all the Ally Events and tasks from the Employment Office, it's time to take part in the final round of the C Rank ninja tournament. Go back to C Rank Tournament Reception again to begin the final bout.
This round brings nothing new - nothing new unlocks, there are no new mechanics or mechanisms to use on the arena. Go through the three rounds of this round and finish with the highest amount of Battle Orbs, and you will finish the C Rank Ninja World Tournament. Afterwards, you will be given a choice of one of three rewards:
The choice, as always, is yours - although there's really no point in taking the character reward, as all of the fighters in the game unlocks with money (ryo) gain, meaning that you will unlock the character sooner or later. The best choice is money, or, if you want, the accessory set. If you, however, want to gain access to the new character as soon as possible, you can take the first reward.
Afterwards, you will see a series of cutscenes, and you will be transferred back to the main menu. You've unlocked the B Rank ninja tournament, as well as have gained access to Rank C Challenges (you can start them at C Rank Tournament Reception). Go to the next chapter to continue your journey with the ninja tournament.
To take part in the Rank C Ninja World Tournament, start the "Ninja World Tournament" from the main menu and select the option to continue the game. You will be asked to select your character again, after which you will land on the beach again. During the cutscene you will learn that you have gained access to another part of the island (Rank B), and that you've unlocked the access to Challenges. To take part in them, go back to C Rank Tournament Reception - a nearby window will now be hosting an NPC with a list of challenges.
Rank B of Ninja World Tournament will be unlocked after you've finished the previous rank - C. The gameplay is fairly the same - you still have to play a qualifying round, after which there's a preliminary and finally main round, after which you will complete the B Rank of the tournament and gain access to the next one (A) and further section of the island.
Rank B area.To start your adventure in this rank, you will have to get to the coast. There are two roads - you can run there on foot, or use the service of Teleportation Ninja. The second option is recommended, as there's nothing interesting along the way, and you will lose a lot of time going there on foot, as there's a few loading screens. Go to the Teleportation Ninja and select the option to move to B Rank Tournament Reception.
This location is rather large, but most of the things here take place close to each other, so you won't have to run long distances to do quests, like it was in the previous rank. Before you start the tournament, you can do a few things. After completing the previous rank, you've gained access to new group of Challenges - they can be found in a NPC window near C Rank Tournament Reception. There's a group of new tasks in the Employment Office as well. And there's the main dish - you can take part in three Ally Events, even before entering the tournament. Those are: "Members of Taka", "Greatest of the Three Sands" and "What is the Value?". If you want to complete them, go to the "Ninja World Tournament - Ally Events" chapter.
After you've done everything you wanted, speak with the NPC in the B Rank Tournament Reception to start the tournament.
It's time for the B Rank qualifying round and the first big surprise in the entire game - a gigantic difficulty level spike. If you've completed the previous rounds without a scratch, the game will catch you off guard. The enemies will mass-use their substitutions (and not once every 50 hits taken), dodges, blocks and they are overall way more effective in combat.
With the beginning of the Rank B tournament, obstacle characters will start to appear on the arena. It seems that they start to focus the player character a lot more - previously you could have easily dragged one of the enemies to the side and smack him till he was dead, when the other two took care of each other, this time it's way more difficult to achieve. If you pick up awakening / ultimate jutsu orb, you can be certain, that 100% of the enemy's attention will be diverted to you, and they will swarm you with their attacks. Picking up this power-up can cost you a lot of Battle Orbs, but you can also earn huge amounts of them.
Aside from that, another novelty awaits you - Obstacle Characters. From time to time, on the arena, a random enemy (or enemies) will appear, who will attack anyone in his range - it can either be a huge wolf, a knight, or a weird monstrosity. Most of the attacks performed by those characters will deal huge damage, but observation will save the day. Just before they attack, a red outline of their attack will appear on the ground, symbolizing the range of the attack - if you will be outside of the red area, you won't take any damage. Also, if you can, you should try to drag your enemies into it, to earn some free Battle Orbs!
Besides those two mentioned things, the whole encounter is pretty typical - 3 rounds, with a single character from a team in each. The winner is the team which collects the highest amount of orbs. After the round is over, you will be automatically enlisted to the preliminary round, and you will unlock new Ally Events - "Mentor's Thoughts" and "Phantom and Worthy Cage".
Each subsequent round will be more difficult.
The preliminary round of B rank will seem to be even more difficult than the qualifying round - there's some truth in it, as the enemies are even more deadly. A good solution for that is to select characters whose jutsu (or ultimate jutsu) allows them to attack from afar, by closing-in the distance (Naruto, Kakashi, Guy), instead of attacking the enemy from a long range, standing still while the attack travels. While standing still you are putting yourself to enemies' attacks, which will surely come - like in the last round, the enemies will focus you more than they do themselves.
Besides the ever-increasing difficulty level, this round is the same as the previous ones - you still have to collect Battle Orbs, but it will be more difficult to do so now. After finishing this round you will end the preliminary round and will be enlisted to the main round. You can now do a couple of things - you can either start the final round (speak with the NPC in B Rank Tournament Reception), use your money and buy more powerful ninja artifacts (which is, in fact, a good idea) or do one, freshly unlocked Ally Event - "Two Jinchuriki" - which description, as always, can be found in the "Ninja World Tournament - Ally Events".
The main phase of B rank is the same as the previous ones - there's no new mechanic, and all the previously implemented stay the same. You still have to make a 3-man squad and have to collect the highest amount of Battle Orbs. During the final round remember to collect awakening and ultimate jutsu orbs and prevent the enemy from doing it.
After you've defeated the enemies, you will, as always, have to sit through a series of cutscenes, after which you will be able to pick up your reward:
The choice, as always, is yours - although there's really no point in taking the character reward, as all of the fighters in the game unlocks with money (ryo) gain, meaning that you will unlock the character sooner or later. The best choice is money, or, if you want, the accessory set. If you, however, want to gain access to the new character as soon as possible, you can take the first reward.
Afterwards, you will see a series of cutscenes, and you will be transferred back to the main menu. You've unlocked the A Rank ninja tournament, as well as have gained access to Rank B Challenges (you can start them at B Rank Tournament Reception). Go to the next chapter to continue your journey with the ninja tournament.
You should be familiar with this map if you've finished the story of Mecha-Naruto.
To take part in the Rank A Ninja World Tournament, start the "Ninja World Tournament" from the main menu and select the option to continue the game. You will be asked to select your character again, after which you will land on the beach again. During the cutscene you will learn that you have gained access to another part of the island (Rank A), and that you've unlocked the access to Challenges. To take part in them, go back to B Rank Tournament Reception - a nearby window will now be hosting an NPC with a list of challenges.
Rank A of Ninja World Tournament will be unlocked after you've finished the previous rank - B. The gameplay is fairly the same - you still have to play a qualifying round, after which there's a preliminary and finally main round, after which you will complete the B Rank of the tournament and gain access to the next one (S) and further section of the island.
To start your journey, go to Teleportation Ninja and select the option to teleport to A Rank Tournament Reception (Festival Plaza). You will be transported to a small building, inside of which most the events of A Rank tournament take place. You can use the opportunity and buy new items at two stores in this building. You can also complete Ally Events - "What Goes Around Comes Around", "Rock, Paper, Scissors" and "The Impressed Attacker". If you want to complete them, go to the "Ninja World Tournament - Ally Events" chapter.
It's a good idea to equip up-to-date ninja artifacts.
This round, as most of the ones you've already completed, takes place in 3-man squads, in Free For All battles. A Rank tournament is, what is pretty obvious, a lot more difficult than the previous ones, that is why it's worthwhile to visit local shops and buy new artifacts. Some of them are insanely expensive (20,000 ryo!), but they give a huge advantage over the enemy.
This round is quite typical - novelties will come with future ones. After completing this round you will be automatically enlisted to preliminary round. You can start it right away, or complete one of the new Ally Events - "The Misplaced Kurosawa", "Difficult Password" and "The Power Behind the Smile". If you want to complete them, go to the "Ninja World Tournament - Ally Events" chapter.
During the tournament, you will have to fight with Network Clones of other players.
This round changes one thing - you won't be fighting in 3-man squads anymore, as one fighter will be dropped out of it. Both the preliminary and main round take place in 2-man teams, and consist of two rounds - all the other rules are the same.
It's worth to mention the thing which was never mentioned. If you are connected to the Internet while you are playing in the tournament, there's a chance to have a Network Clone of other player as your enemy - it takes place of one of the computer-controlled teams. Those clones are steered by computer, as well, but they can be equipped with various cards, increasing their stats (like attack, defense, chakra regeneration, etc.). It brings some novelty in the rather boring ninja tournament fighting system.
Network Clones, are, paradoxically making the whole fight a lot easier - they are way weaker than their computer counterparts, and they attract the attention of other fighters (just like the computer enemies have been focusing you so far). It will allow you to win the rounds in which they appear a lot easier. Of course, you can also be paired against a very high-leveled group, which will kick your butt, but that's highly unlikely.
After finishing the preliminary round, you will be automatically enlisted in the final round. You can now either start it right away, or do some new Ally Events - "Memories Aboard a Paper Plane", "Argument of Art" and "Utakata Running Away".
The final round is a single fight - yes, instead of the typical 2-3-4 rounds, you will have to finish one round only. It's extremely easy, as you can just pick your strongest character and own everyone on the arena, without worrying about anything. After finishing this round you will be shown a series of cutscenes, after which you will be able to pick one reward:
Take the one suited for you the most and enjoy the end of Ninja World Tournament Rank A. You've unlocked the access to Rank S, as well as Rank A Challenges (which can be done near the Reception of the previous class - A). Go to the next chapter to continue.
This time you will select a total of 3 additional characters.
Ninja World Tournament Rank S is the shortest (excluding S+ Rank) part of the tournament, because there's no new Ally Events here (unlocking the S Rank tournament unlocks a single Ally Event). That is why it won't be divided into different rounds like the last one.
This class unlocks after you've finished the previous one (A) - to get there, use the Teleportation Ninja to get to S Rank Tournament Reception. In this rank you will have to take 3 additional characters with you (4-man squad). You can select the squad of your team only once - you will be using it during all the rounds. There's one novelty as well - besides the three standard rounds (qualifying, preliminary and main round), there's going to be a special, simply called "Final".
The final is played after you've finished the main round. You won't be fighting any groups of new enemies this time, and the round is not divided into parts. Instead, you will be fighting the 3 characters you've selected to be a part of your team. It's important to think about when you are selecting them - it's good to have good teammates, but you must also select them so that you will be able to defeat them in the final round. It's crucial to take as the "free roam character", the one you walk on the island with a character which you are most familiar with.
Just as it was in the previous ranks, S rank begins with a qualifying round. Select your squad (remember that it's permanent). Finish the round and after that you can either participate in the next round, or complete an Ally Event - "One Who Surpasses Hashirama". If you want to complete it, go to the "Ninja World Tournament - Ally Events" chapter.
Those two rounds are the same as the previous ones - you still have the four characters you've picked at the very beginning, who are fighting in 4 rounds, and your task is to collect the highest amount of Battle Orbs. After the main round is finished, you will be shown a cutscene, in which you will learn that it's not over yet.
After regaining control over your character, you will be able to take part in the bonus, final round of S Rank tournament. As it was mentioned before, you will be fighting your former allies, meaning that you can easily control the difficulty of this bonus round, selecting weaker (than your main) characters. You won't have access to Battle Orbs you've managed to collect in the previous round - everyone starts with 1,000 Orbs.
After you've defeated your enemies, the final round will be over, and you will become "the strongest" ninja on the island. Now you can select a reward:
The choice is yours - if you, however, completed all the previous Ally Events, as well as Ninja Escapades, you should already have enough money to buy most (if not all) items in the shops. Afterwards, you will be presented a series of cutscenes, after which the S Rank tournament will be over. There's one final task left for you - S+ Rank tournament. Go to the next chapter to continue.
Selecting a proper bento makes the fights a lot easier.
Ninja World Tournament Rank S+ is unlocked upon completion of the previous one - S. It's the shortest stage of the ninja tournament - there's only one, single round of fights here. On the other hand, your team will increase to 5 members, and the whole round will be divided into 5 fights. You still have to collect the highest amount of Battle Orbs.
There are two novelties in this rank - there are no awakening / ultimate jutsu orbs to pick up here, so you won't be able to use them. The second one is that the enemies are in a state of permanent True Awakening from the very beginning - they will have a huge advantage over you, but it's the final test of your skills, so it's only natural.
To start the last stage of the tournament, go to the Teleportation Ninja and teleport to S+ Rank Tournament Reception. There are no shops, Employment Office or Challenges here - you can only start the tournament. If you want to buy some items, go to some other part of the island. If you want to begin the final round, speak with the NPC near the gate.
The S+ rank fights require either incredible mobility...You will have to select 5 characters now. What is crucial, you won't have to fight with the character you've travelled the island with and you can swap it out with another one. While picking the characters, you should think twice, and select the ones you are very familiar with. This last round rewards characters with extremely long-ranged attacks (if you won't get stomped at the very beginning), mobile, like Minato or Shisui, who allow you move around the battlefield, or those who have incredible raw strength, like Hashirama.
Before the fight begins, it's a good idea to select appropriate items. There's no point to select offensive ninja artifacts (like bombs, or kunais), as they won't be of any use. A better idea is to use support items. The perfect choice is to select Substitution Logs, as well as books of the mind. They allow you to increase the regeneration of Substitutions, which means that you will be able to use them a lot more frequent - and as you will see, you will need lots of them.
... or pure raw strength. You should also eat a Bento - you can lay a different effect on each of your characters. To activate a bento, get into the "List of items" before the battle starts, select the meal that interests you and use on a character you wish to empower. The best choice is to increase your defense and attack - thanks to that you will be able to "pull" more orbs from your enemies, while you lose less (A LOT less) if you are hit.
The last thing you should remember about - don't rush in the middle of the fight. Try to use hit & run tactics (unless you have a pure raw strength character, like Hashirama or Madara Uchiha), because otherwise you will be stomped to the ground. A good idea is to focus an enemy who has not changed his appearance after True Awakening - you can fight him more freely and hit him with your Jutsus.
Rewards for completing this round:
Afterwards, there's going to be a short conversation, after which you will regain control over your character. Congratulations, you've finished the whole ninja tournament!
The above screenshot shows the location of two ninjas.
The first Ally Event available in the game, allowing you to unlock new characters, which can then be used as your followers in ninja world tournament. It becomes available after finishing the class D qualifying round of the ninja tournament. As the name of the quest suggests, you will have to answer five, not necessarily difficult (especially for the fans of Naruto) questions. To begin the event, you must find two ninjas (Iruka and Konohamaru) on the Festival Beach.
After accepting the quest, answer the five questions asked by Iruka in the following way:
First question - Stone
Second question - White
Third question - Darui
Fourth question - Jijin Akebino
Fifth question - 5
Afterwards, Iruka will check your answer, which, obviously, are correct. You will receive the following rewards for completing this quest:
1000 ryo
2x Chain Mail
Ninja World Tournament allies: Iruka, Konohamaru.
This ally event becomes available after finishing the class D preliminary round of the ninja tournament. To begin the quest, go to the Lottery point (point 1 on the screenshot at the beginning of this chapter), to stumble upon a group of four ninjas - begin the conversation with either of them. You will learn about a special training, that the trio of youngsters will be participating in.
After the conversation you will have to fight with the trio - Lee, Tenten and Neji. Lee is a fast combatant, specializing in close combat, although his attacks are rather weak. Another thing that simplifies this battle is the fact, that you can use up to two allies during this battle. After you've defeated the youngster, you will have to get to another place of their training (point 2 on the screenshot at the beginning of this chapter).
After a short conversation you will have to compete in an almost identical fight - although this time the group is led by Neji, who you will be fighting with. Yet again, your enemy specializes in melee combat, although he is far weaker than Lee, as he is a lot slower than your previous enemy. After your second victory you will have to get to the third training place (point 3 on the screenshot at the beginning of this chapter), where you will have to face the trio once more.
If you are using a character specializing in close combat, this encounter will be extremely irritating.
Things take a different turn this time - you will be fighting Tenten. She specializes in very long ranged combat, and she's extremely annoying - she will swarm you with a rain of projectiles, and when you will finally be able to get closer to her, she will use her allies as a shield, while simultaneously trying to gain distance from you again. The only thing you can do to make this fight easier is to just stick to her and deny her the opportunity to gain any distance at all - in melee range Tenten is one of the weakest characters in the game. If you are playing a character who can fight effectively at long distances, she won't be of any problem (but Neji, and especially Lee from previous rounds will turn out to be a pain).
After the fight you will need to go to your final destination (go back to point 2 on the screenshot at the beginning of this chapter), to take part in the final battle - not with the trio anymore, but with their teacher, Guy, himself. He's a formidable opponent, fighting almost only in melee range (except for his ultimate jutsu), but you will have a huge advantage over him - he will be fighting you alone, whereas you can bring up to two allies with you. Guy will be using his awakening from the very beginning, which will make his attacks faster and do more damage. Use your allies and the fight should soon be over.
Afterwards, after a short conversation, the event will be complete and you will be given the following rewards:
2000 ryo
2x Large Food Pill
Ninja World Tournament allies: Mighty Guy, Rock Lee, Neji Hyuuga, Tenten.
The event is available after completion of class D preliminary round of ninja tournament. Additionally, there's one condition - you have to play with a different character than Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi, Yamato, or Sai. The event can be initiated on the beach, near the place in which you were dropped out of the boat when you came to the island. Approach two ninjas standing on the beach and begin the conversation. From it you will learn, that you will have to find their colleagues - Sakura and Sai.
You should start from Sakura - you can find her on the beach, to the West from where you've begun your ally event (point 1 on the above screenshot). Sai is located to the North from the place in which you've begun your ally event (point 2 on the above screenshot). Afterwards, you will have to get back to the beach, where you've spoken with the ninja duo. You will learn that there's one ninja remaining - Naruto. Go North from the place you've found Sai in (point 3 on the above screenshot) - you will find a boy there, who will ask you to find Naruto for him. He can be found near the place marked with point 4 on the above screenshot. After you've found the blond boy go back to the beach, speak with the group and win an easy fight with the ninjas.
After the encounter and a short conversation the event will be complete and you will be given the following rewards:
The place in which you can find the three ninjas.
The first ally event available to you after unlocking the C class tournament. To start it, after entering the cave, in which the C class tournament takes place (from the beach's side), go to the tunnel on the right side. In the midsection of the mentioned tunnel you will stumble upon a group of three ninjas - Hinata, Kiba and Shino. Initiate a conversation with either of them, and after a long discussion, you will have to face them in two, rather simple and easy encounters.
The three-man squad of your enemies will always be the same, it will only differ in the way of the 'main" fighter you will be directly fighting with. First, you will go against Kiba - he specializes in close-quarters combat, as well as has a companion pet, who will be his support during the fight (just like all the puppeteers use their puppets) and can take a hit of two for him. Kiba is one of the weakest enemies you will encounter in the game, mostly because of his low mobility. After you've dealt with him, you will be paired against Shino. This encounter is entirely different from the previous one, because this foe will use long-ranged attacks most of the time - you can't let him get away from you (unless you play a long-ranged specialist as well), as he will swarm you with his attacks. If you manage to keep up with him and attack him all the time, the fight should be soon over.
Contrary to your first thought, you won't have to fight for the third time, against Hinata as the team's captain - the event will be finished after those two rounds. You will be given the following rewards:
The event will be available to you after you've completed the C class qualifying round. Find a group of ninja, near the shop, next to the C Rank Tournament Reception. After initiating the conversation, select the option "Join with me", to, after a few moments, learn about your next assignment - you will have to find the illusive mirage flower. In return, the three ninjas will be available to use as allies during the ninja tournament.
Kabuto himself will give you an important hint - the three ninjas have already searched C Rank terrain, you will have to search that of D Rank. It grows on top of high places, located near the Festival Beach and Shrine Gate Valley. At the beginning climb up the ladder next to the D Rank Tournament Reception (point 1 on the screenshot), collect the flower to learn that it was a mirage. Jump down and go to the place marked with point 2 on the screenshot above - there there's a second flower, which is, unfortunately a mirage too.
The third flower is located near the place in which you've began the previous ally event (point 3 on the screenshot above). This one will too be a mirage. The last one, and this time the real plant, can be found North to your actual position (point 4 on the screenshot above). Climb up the ladder, pick up the flower and go back to Orochimaru to finish the quest.
You will be given:
3000 ryo
2x Paper Bomb - strong
Ninja World Tournament allies: Orochimaru, Kabuto, Kimimaro.
Another ally event which is unlocked upon completion of Rank C qualifying round. Find the group of four ninjas, standing near the Festival Fountain, next to the lottery point (Rank D Map). After a short conversation you will learn, that you have to get a meal for one of the ninjas, if you want to complete the quest.
During the conversation you must pick this options (in the exact order):
After selecting the fourth question and a short conversation, you will regain control over your character. You will now have to find the specified meal - Hamburger Bento. If you don't have it, get back to the cave and find the Tool Shop Staff (near the C Rank Tournament Reception), who sells the required meal. After acquiring the item, go back to the ninjas, give the meal and complete the quest.
You will be given:
This event is unlocked after you complete the preliminary round of C Rank ninja tournament. To begin the quest, go to the tunnel on the right side (looking from the entrance to the cave, from the beach) - the same tunnel through which you were travelling to start the "Basking in the Limelight" event. You will stumble upon a 4-man group of ninja. Speak with whoever you want with to learn about the task.
It's rather simple - you have to defeat an enemy called Bee nasty. He will be using his awakening - in the "regular" version he won't be a threat at all. After he's activated the awakening, all you have to do is to stall him for several seconds until he runs out of chakra, which should give you an edge. Don't let the enemy prolong the encounter and fill his True Awakening bar - if that happens, he will become much more dangerous. Bee is quite weak, so you shouldn't have any problems with defeating him.
After you've completed this encounter, after a short conversation, Bee will flee and you will have to find him inside the cave. You have to jump to the lower level of the cave - this level is very small, so you should locate him in a matter of seconds. Start a conversation with the enemy, after which another, identical fight will begin. Defeat him once more, after which both of you will be teleported back to the rest of the group, which gave you the task.
The quest will be finished. You will be given:
You can start the event here.
Another, second ally event unlocked after you've completed the preliminary round of Rank C tournament. To begin the quest, go to the tunnel on the right side (looking from the entrance to the cave, from the beach) - the same tunnel through which you were travelling to start the "Basking in the Limelight" event. At the very end of the tunnel you will find two ninjas, who you should remember, if you've finished Ninja Escapades. Those are Hidan and Kakuzu.
After accepting the task, you will learn that you have to pay 30,000 ryo for them to join you. You should have at least a few times more than that, so there's nothing else to do than to accept their proposition. As it will turn out, nothing comes for "free" - they wanted to outsmart you, that's why you have to fight them now.
Hidan, because he's the one you'll be fighting with, is extremely effective in close combat, but his combos are quite sluggish - you can stop them with ease by attacking him, prevent him from doing anything. You should always have 1-2 substitutions ready to get away if Hidan manages to get you in his combo. The duo would be a lot more deadly if they used their Ultimate Jutsu - they have a special jutsu, which does more damage than the "regular" ultimate ones. They can't use it however, as they are using Drive Type.
After defeating the enemies, you will have a short conversation, after which the duo will decide to join you after all. You will also receive:
One of the ally events, which is available after you've completed the Rank C ninja tournament. To begin the quest, teleport to B Rank Tournament Reception (by using the Teleportation Ninja), and then locate a ninja duo (Chiyo and Fourth Kazekage), standing on an elevation, to the North of your actual position. After you reach them, speak with whoever you want to begin the event - yet again you will have to kick someone's butt.
The event is divided into two stages - in the first one you will be fighting the Fourth Kazekage, in the second one with granny Chiyo. The first one is a rather simple one, especially if you are using a melee character - the enemy specializes in long-ranged combat and is weak, when the enemy manages to get "personal". Stick up to the enemy and don't let him gain any distance, and you should be perfectly fine - your enemy's attacks are slow, so a mobile character will be even more effective.
The second encounter is very similar, as the enemy also use long-ranged attack, but it is more difficult. Your enemy uses puppets (the whole encounter is similar to the one with Sasori, from Ninja Escapades), meaning that she will try to keep you at distance all the time, sending her puppets to do her bidding. To injure the enemy, you will have to get close to Chiyo - attacking the puppets won't do any damage to her. A huge advantage in this fight is that you are fighting with your allies, and they both are alone.
After the second round is complete, the event will end. You will be rewarded with:
Another, rather easy ally event.
One of the ally events, which is available as soon as you've completed the C Rank ninja tournament. To begin the quest, teleport to B Rank Tournament Reception (by using the Teleportation Ninja), jump down and go North, until you reach a group of three ninjas (Gaara, Temari, Kankuro), standing by the wall. Speak with any of them to start the event.
This time you will only have to finish one fight. You will be fighting all three of them, but Gaara will be the "main" enemy. The whole encounter is very similar to the one with Fourth Kazekage (check the previous ally event) - they both attack using the sand, they are perfectly suited for long-ranged combat, and are very weak in close-quarters. Just like with the previous event, your main goal is to stick to the enemy and don't let him gain any distance. The only problem with the whole fight is that Gaara uses the help of his siblings a lot. What is even worse, they are doing their job unexpectedly good - Kankuro will harass you with his puppet, from afar, while Temari will knock you up in the air if you decide to get closer to Gaara. The enemy uses their help whenever he is able to, meaning that your allies will have their hands full as well.
After you've defeated them, you will have a short conversation and the event will be finished. You will receive:
The last ally event available before the B rank tournament.
The last ally event available before the B rank tournament. To begin the quest, teleport to B Rank Tournament Reception (by using the Teleportation Ninja) and go all the way North, until you reach a mountain range (by the beach), where a group of four ninjas await you. Speak with whoever you want to and begin the event. After a short conversation you will have to fight three of them.
The fight wish Suigetsu (Karin and Jugo as his allies) is rather simple - the enemy specializes in close combat, his attacks are strong, but they are slow, meaning that you will have advantage over him with a mobile character, or one that fights from afar. The only problem is the collaboration of the trio - Suigetsu's allies will be entering the battlefield all the time to harass you, just like it was in the previous ally event.
After you've dealt with them, you will have to fight their "boss" - Sasuke. It's safe to say that Sasuke is one of the best characters in the game - he's doing good in close combat, he's fast and deals decent damage, while at the same time can be incredibly annoying from a long distance. This fight would be extremely hard if not for one thing - he is fighting alone, you can bring 2 allies with you. Use the advantage and make short work of him. Don't let him fill his True Awakening bar - if he manages to do so, the encounter will become much more difficult.
After finishing the second round the event will be finished. For completing the quest you will be given:
The first ally event which is unlocked after you've finished the qualifying round of B rank tournament. To begin it, go East from the B Rank Tournament Reception to run into the cave. Run along the tunnel until you reach a duo of ninjas - Ohnoki and Mu. Start the conversation after which - what should already be obvious - you will have to defeat them.
This encounter, just like the whole B rank tournament, is slightly more difficult than the previous ones - the enemy will block more, use dodges and regularly his substitutions. Additionally, the enemy specializes in long-ranged combat - he will be trying to gain as much of breathing space as possible. Without a doubt, his ally, Ohnoki, will help him with that - he will regularly shower you with rain of rocks. The best solution, like against every long-ranged character is to stick to the enemy - if you manage to do so, the whole encounter is very easy.
After the fight you will have a short conversation, after which the event will be finished. For completing it you will receive:
The event starting location - an annoying encounter awaits you!
The second ally event unlocked after the completion of the qualifying round of B rank tournament. To begin it, go West from the B Rank Tournament Reception, to enter the cave. Go along the tunnel until you reach a crossroads (they lead North and South) - by it you will find Kisame and Itachi. Speak with them - after a short conversation you will learn, that you will have to fight with one of them.
Yup, only one of them - Itachi will be act as an observer, and Kisame will be the one fighting you and your allies (who you should be bringing with you for this encounter). Contrary to appearances, this fight will not be an easy one - this is probably the hardest combat you've had up to this point, at least among ally event. Kisame will be blocking most of your attacks (as well as jutsus) - using jutsus without engaging the enemy with your allies, or using it after substitution is completely useless, because 9 out of 10 cases the enemy will block or dodge it. You should focus on launching normal attacks (help yourself with your allies, who Kisame lacks) and launch your jutsus only when the enemy can't dodge them.
You should always keep at least 1-2 segments of substitution, because the enemy, contrary to appearances, is extremely fast during his attacks, doing large amount of damage in the process. If he catches you into his combo, use a substitution, get away from him, and when he stops his combo launch a counterattack. After defeating the enemy you will have a standard conversation, after which the event will end and you will receive:
You can start the event here.
This time this is the only ally event unlocked after completing the preliminary round of Rank B tournament. To begin it, go East from B Rank Tournament Reception - at the entrance to the cave you will encounter two ninjas - Han and Roshi. After a short conversation you will learn - it can't be! - that you have to fight again. Accept the challenge and select those answers for the given questions:
After this you will begin the first fight, with Han. The encounter is trivial - his attacks are powerful, but extremely sluggish, and because of that they are easy to dodge, or even interrupt. After you've defeated him, you will have to face Roshi, in his True Awakening state. You will be fighting a tailed beast. The fight isn't all that difficult, but you should remember to don't attack the enemy too openly - his sizes gives him the ability to attack you during your own combos (the enemy is not "stunned" with your attacks). It's better to use hit & run tactics - get closer to him, attack him a few times and jump back afterwards. Rinse and repeat and the enemy should soon be down.
You will receive:
An ally event, which is unlocked along with the completion of the Rank B tournament. You can begin it on the Festival Beach, near the place you land on the beach each time you start the ninja tournament mode. Approach Mei and Second Mizukage and start a conversation. You will have to deliver a few items to finish the event.
First things first, use the Teleportation Ninja to reach the B Rank Tournament Reception (Festival Beach). When you arrive, jump from the rocks and go North - you should be able to see a character with which you must speak (a pink icon above its head). Deliver the swimsuit to the NPC, and after a short while you will be given a Lamp in return. You must deliver it to the cave. Go back to the Teleportation Ninja and teleport to the C Rank Tournament Reception (Festival Cave). Jump down to the lower level and go North - you will find another NPC there. Speak with him, give him the lamp, and you will be given ice.
Here he is.Now you will have to face the most difficult and annoying mission in the game - but only if you aren't using this guide. You must deliver the ice to an NPC standing near the cave entrance. The thing that makes this quest annoying is the time limit. Climb up back to the middle level, and run into the tunnel on the right - run all the way North, until you leave the cave. Go outside with the North tunnel and on the crossroads turn to the left and speak with the NPC sitting on the ground - give him the ice, and you will be given water containers.
Go back to the Festival Beach (with the help of Teleportation Ninja, for instance) and go to the Festival Fountain, near the lottery point. Speak with the NPC, give him the containers and after the conversation is over, go back to the beach to end the quest. You will be given:
You can start the event here.
Another ally event, available to you after you've completed the B rank tournament (before the qualifying round of A rank tournament). To begin it, go to the save point on the Festival Plaza (Rank A Map). You will find Jiraiya and Tsunade there. Speak with them and begin an easy quest - you must defeat Tsunade in a game of "Rock, Paper, Scissors".
After a short conversation, you will have to place your bet. Select Rock, because the enemy will pick Scissors, which is why you will win the first round. In the second one pick Paper, as the enemy will take Rock. After you've won both rounds, you will have a short conversation with them, and the event will be over. You will be given:
The last ally event which is available to you after you've completed the B rank tournament. To begin it, go North from the save point on the Festival Plaza (Rank A Map) - the place is marked on the map as Great Eagle Cliff. Start the conversation, and after a short while you will have to defeat them both in two rounds.
The first one to fight you is Fuu. She's a mobile enemy, who will be extremely annoying for you if you are playing with a strong, but slow character. Her weakness is that her attacks deal very little damage - she will have to hit you multiple times for you to even bother. The second enemy is Yugito. If Fuu, during your previous fight, wanted to gain any distance from you, Yugito will try to fight you in close combat, all the time. She has the same strengths (mobility) and weaknesses (low damage) as Fuu. As always in those kinds of fights, you have a huge advantage over your enemies - you can use your support, while they are fighting alone. As both of them are fighting with their Awakening Type, don't let them use their True Awakening - they will turn into their tailed beasts and the fight will become a lot harder.
After you've defeated them, the event will be finished. You will be given:
Haku and Zabuza.
One of the ally events, which is unlocked after you've completed the qualifying round of A Rank tournament. To begin it, use the Teleportation Ninja to teleport to B Rank Tournament Reception (Festival Beach). After arriving, jump down and go West - you will encounter Haku and Zabuza there. After a short while you will have to fight one of them - Haku.
Haku is a swift enemy, fight in close-quarters, but he is quite effective at long range as well - the decision and method of fighting this masked ninja depends on you and your character. Yet again, you have an advantage over him, as he is fighting alone, and you have your allies with you. After the fight you will have a short conversation, after which you won't have to fight Zabuza, and the quest will end.
You will be given:
Hanzo and Mifune.
One of ally events which is unlocked upon completion of qualifying round of A Rank tournament. To begin it, teleport to the A Rank Tournament Reception (Festival Plaza) by using the Teleportation Ninja. Afterwards, leave the building and turn to the right (North). Run along a narrow passageway to more open space and climb up the ladder, where Hanzo and Mifune await you. Speak with them and you will be asked to retrieve Mifune's blade - Kurosawa. You should first go South - opposite the stairs leading from the building with ARank Tournament Reception, there's a blacksmith, who should have Mifune's blade. It seems that he sold it to a merchant.
Among the group there's the merchant you are looking for.To get to the merchant, go to the Teleportation Ninja yet again and teleport to B Rank Tournament Reception (Festival Beach). Afterwards, jump down and go West - you will find a group of people there, among which there's the merchant you are looking for. Speak with him and during the conversation you will be told, that the merchant won't give you the sword for free - you can either buy it for 30,000 ryo, or bring him a crystal from a cave. The better solution is to simply buy it - Mifune will give you the exact same amount of money when you give the sword to him.
Interact with the merchant again and buy the Famous Blade - Kurosawa. Transport the blade back to Mifune to end the quest. You will be given:
Danzo and Hiruzen.
One of the ally events, which will be unlocked after you've completed the qualifying round of A Rank tournament. To begin it, teleport to C Rank Tournament Reception (Festival Cave), and jump down to the lower level. You will find Danzo and Hiruzen there. Speak with them, and a third one - Shisui - will join. Your task is to call off spies - two of them.
Teleport back to the B Rank Tournament Reception (Festival Beach). Afterwards, jump one level down, to the North from the place you were teleported to. One of the ANBU ninjas will be there. Speak with him and select those dialogue options:
Afterwards confirm your answer with "Yes". Now you have to find the second ANBU. Teleport to the A Rank Tournament Reception, run outside of the building and go North. Run through the narrow passageway, get to the open field and turn left by the ladder ( you should be able to see the target on the map - a pink dot). Approach the second ANBU and start the conversation. Select those dialogue options:
Confirm your answers with "Yes" and go back to the ninja trio. You will finish the quest and be given:
The place in which you can start the event.
One of the three ally events available after the completion of the preliminary round of A Rank tournament. To begin it, teleport to the A Rank Tournament Reception (Festival Plaza). Run outside of the building and climb up the ledges, opposite the stairs leading from the building. You will find Nagato and Konan there. After a short conversation, you will learn, that you have to find a missing, paper plane.
Teleport to the C Rank Tournament Reception, and after arrival climb up the ladder located near the Teleportation Ninja, near who you should now be standing. Pick up the missing paper plane, jump down and teleport back to the A Rank Tournament Reception (Festival Plaza). Speak with the ninja duo again, and after a short while the event will be over and you will be given:
Sasori and Deidara
One of the ally events unlocked after the completion of preliminary round of A Rank tournament. To begin it, teleport to the A Rank Tournament Reception (Festival Plaza) by using the Teleportation Ninja. Leave the building and turn to the right (North). Run along the narrow passageway until you reach an open space and locate the ninja duo standing near the broken ladder. After a short while you will have to fight them - once with Deidara, the second time with Sasori.
Both encounters are very similar - the enemies specialize in long-ranged combat, which means that a mobile, close-ranged characters are especially effective against them. You should know both of them if you finished the Ninja Escapades. After you've defeated them both, you will have a short conversation - select "Both were weak" answer. It will make them mad and you will be fighting a final bout - with both of them, and Deidara serving as the "main" enemy. The encounter is the same as before - remember to not lose a lot of health during your first two fights, as it won't regenerate for the 3rd round.
After you've defeated them for the 3rd time, you will finish the event and be given:
The start of the event - Yagura.
One of the ally events available after the completion of the preliminary round of A Rank tournament. To begin it, teleport to the A Rank Tournament Reception (Festival Plaza). Afterwards, leave the building and turn to the right (North). Run along the narrow tunnel, until you reach more open terrain - continue forward, into another narrow passageway. You will stumble upon Yagura. During the conversation you will learn that you have to find his companion - Utakata.
The location of Utakata.Go to the Festival Beach (B Rank Map). Locate the Employment Office (to the North from the Teleportation Ninja), located on an elevation. Climb up the ladder - there should be Utakata waiting for you. Start a conversation with him, and prepare for a battle, in his tailed beast form (True Awakening). He's a specific fellow - he will be standing still for a couple of seconds, during which you can freely attack him. After he starts moving, it's best to just gain some distance, as he will be spitting some poisonous bubbles, which will lay negative effects on you upon contact. After he stops attacking, you can get closer to him and hit him a few times, until he is defeated.
And here's the mad Yagura. After you've defeated Utakata, go to the place where you've met Yagura - Utakata will be there, together with a bonus character. You will learn that Yagura went to eat something. Go back to the building with the A Rank Tournament Reception and locate the ninja by one of the shops. After a short conversation the youngster will flee. Leave the building, go down the stairs and turn to the right (North). After a short while you should stumble upon your loss. You will now have to fight Yagura. Just as with the previous encounter, this one is rather easy - don't let Yagura activate True Awakening and everything will be ok. Once the event is over you will be given:
Tobirama and Hashirama Senju.
An ally event, which will be unlocked after the completion of qualifying round of S Rank tournament. To begin it, go to the Teleportation Ninja and teleport yourself to the B Rank Tournament Reception (Festival Beach). After reaching the place, jump down and go North - near the beach you will find both the First and Second Hokage. Start the conversation - after a short while you will regain control over your character and you will have to talk with them again to start the event.
This is one of the hardest fights in the entire game. The Second Hokage can attack both from close range (which he does most of the time) and harass you with water attacks from afar. The enemy will use blocks and substitutions all the time, and his brother, First Hokage, will support him with his long-ranged attacks. Do whatever it takes to avoid getting caught in the Ultimate Jutsu - both Hokages will take more than one full bar of your health. Use your blocks, substitutions and support, and you should be fine.
Afterwards, you will have a short conversation, after which the event will be completed and you will receive:
Here's the place in which you can find the herbs.
The penultimate ally event, which can be done to unlock additional followers for the ninja tournament. To begin it, teleport to the A Rank Tournament Reception (Festival Plaza), leave the building and turn to the left (South). You will find Minato and Kushina there.
During the conversation you will learn about your task - you will need to bring a specific herb to Minato. The herbs can be found near the entrance to caves, on the Festival Beach - to reach the beach from your actual position, you will have to go along the narrow passageway to the South. As there are different herbs there, you will have to check and find the one you were asked to bring back - Vigor's Herb. You can check the name of the herb by interacting with it - if it's not the one you are looking for, you can leave it alone. If you pick up the wrong one, the mission will end with a failure. Pick up the right herb and go back to Minato.
The event will be over and you will be given:
Madara's attacks are irritating because of their long reach.
The last ally event in the game, at the same time being one of the biggest challenges, as far as the difficulty level goes. To begin it, you will have to find the evil duo - Madara and Obito. Teleport to the B Rank Tournament Reception and go through the Eastern tunnel to enter the cave. Get to the crossroads and go through the Northern tunnel. Stop by the precipice and turn to the left - you should be able to see your target in the distance. Jump across a few ledges, collecting items in the process, and begin the conversation.
You will have to win two fights - first with Madara, the second one with Obito. The first enemy specializes in close combat, and thanks to his attack in middle-ranged combat. This encounter is arduous, as it's hard to dodge his attacks - the best choice is to fight him with a mobile character (Minato, or Shisui) or a character with similar damage output (like Hashirama). The second bout is a lot easier - Obito also specializes in close combat, he's a lot faster than Madara, but his attacks lack the reach and power of his companion. Fortunately, you won't have to fight them both and the event ends after those two rounds.
You will be given:
Seal Barrier will weaken your enemy.
Before most of the fights (excluding those played during the ninja tournament), you will have a choice to select a type of team. It unlocks and restricts the usage of special, unique abilities of your character (on his own, or with the assistance of his supports). There are three types of teams: Ultimate Jutsu Type, Awakening Type and Drive Type.
By selecting this type of team you will unlock the ability to use Ultimate Jutsu of your character (or your team). It's basically an empowered version of your regular jutsu, dealing considerably larger amount of damage (it can be activated by using chakra overcharge and attack). After you fill your Storm Bar completely, you will be able to use an empowered version of this attack, dealing even more damage.
A team type giving you access to awakening - by activating it, you will increase the effectiveness of your character, increasing his/her speed, strength of attacks, or totally altering the skills. During the awakening state you will constantly lose chakra and you can't charge it - if you deplete your chakra completely the effect will end (you can also stop it yourself).
After you fill your Storm Bar completely, you will be able to activate True Awakening. This mode alters your character completely, and some of the characters will be transformed as well. During this mode your attacks will deal a lot more damage, your speed will be increased, and you will be given invulnerability to basic thrown weapons (like kunai or shurikens). After several seconds the effect ends and the Storm Bar is depleted.
A team type concentrating on the usage of your allies (support). By selecting it you won't be able to use your ultimate jutsu, nor true awakening, but you will increase the effectiveness of your supports, by unlocking additional abilities, such as:
Items in the game can be divided into two groups: ninja artifacts and bento.
Those are the items you can use during the actual fight. The type and amount of items you can use must be determined before it begins - you have time for that after you've selected your character. There are basically two groups of ninja artifacts:
The selection of proper ninja artifacts can have a huge impact on the outcome of the entire fight - activating, for instance, Secret Book of the Mind's Eye (single player mode only) will give you a boost for several seconds, increasing the regeneration rate of your substitutions, allowing you to use them almost infinite amount of times during the effect. Another example may be a situation, in which you use a scroll increasing your attack, and at the same time you hit an enemy with a scroll which lowers his attack - it will give you a huge advantage, even if it's only for a few seconds. There's a whole bunch of different items, allowing for various tactics, and their usage is limited by the creativity of the player only.
Bento allows you to increase the effectiveness of your character(s) during the following encounter - it's used during the single player modes only. There are various effects - it may be increase in defense and offense, decrease in chakra usage, or increase in chakra regeneration. Everyone will find something for himself.
Bentos are extremely important during the Ninja World Tournament (especially during the S+ rank), where you will have to face several rounds in row - by using a bento, not only will it increase the stats of your character, it will also replenish its health. In case of ninja world rounds, where you will be fighting with numerous characters, you can affect each character of your team with a different (or the same) bento.
Those who don't want to fight with other players will find something for themselves.
For those, who don't want to fight with other players (and the lags accompanying those games...), there's plenty of modes in the game - everyone should be able to find something for himself. Those are:
You begin with a "zero" ranking - by fighting with other players you can increase it.
Online gameplay offers various game modes, depending on your personal preferences. Those are: Shinobi World War and battle menu. The first one allows you to automatically join to other players and take part in a tournament. After selecting your character (individuals, without the usage of supports) each player will be located on the ladder and will be fighting other players, going through to the deeper parts of the ladder, closing on to the finals. Easy to guess, if you want to be the best, you will have to win all the encounters.
Battle menu allows you to choose from a variety of options, such as:
Unfortunately, despite the first thought coming to mind (after completing the Ninja World Tournament), there's no way to fight with 3 different players at the same time - regardless of the configuration (Free for All or 2 versus 2).
During your online adventure, you must remember about one thing - your enemies won't be fighting like your previous, computer-controlled foes. Just as you do, they will be constantly thinking about their moves - they will try to approach you in some way, force a substitution, to launch their powerful attacks when you can't dodge them, or they will lure you to attack them to catch you in a trap. You will have to do the same - analyze the enemy all the time, observe his chakra / health / substitution / Storm Bar all the time and adapt your tactics accordingly. You should also check the "Quick Tips" chapter at the beginning of this guide.
Unfortunately, there's one single thing that which spoils the entire online experience - out of the Earth, unheard of in different games lags. It does not matter whether you are fighting with someone from your own region (even the same country, or city) or if your enemy is living on the other side of the globe, nor the Internet connection - the lags can always (and probably will be...) happen. Another torment (but on the other hand some kind of leaver-protection) is the impossibility of leaving a tournament / league / shinobi world war before it ends (regardless of whether you will be fighting in it again or not) - there's nothing more entertaining than to watch several battles between players, when someone (or you yourself) has insane, a few second lags.
It's important to pay attention to this matter before the match starts - in the game lobby (before you confirm your readiness) you can check the latency of other players - if someone has a red icon near his name, it's a sign to leave the room as soon as possible and find another room. If all the icons are green, it means (at least in theory) that you will be able to have a peaceful, lag-free match.
A network clone can be equipped with various cards, increasing its different stats.
A network clone is your "business card" for each player. After entering the Online menu, you can create one - it's nothing else as a character (or a group of characters, if you select support for him) steered by the computer. The difference is that you can also send the clone on a training, during which it will fight several battles, earn experience and has a chance to find various items, which can be used to modify the stats of the clone itself. Before you send it on a training, you can check its effectiveness by having a duel with it.
After sending your clone on a training, it will appear in someone else's world, as a part of his/her Ninja World Tournament - the player will be able to fight your clone, which will award it with experience / items, and if the player defeats it, he/she will be awarded with various items, as well as a copy of your clone. The clone can be equipped with various items, which increase his stats, like defense, attack, chakra regeneration, and so on.
You can also assign special cards to the clone, which will increase the likelihood of it using certain attacks during its bouts with other players. There are hundreds of items that can be assigned to a network clone. Those can be acquired doing almost any activity in the game - by playing matches in the Survival mode, fighting other players, or by completing Ninja Escapades and/or Ninja World Tournament. You can also earn some cards by fighting enemy network clones, which appear in your world.
As it was mentioned before, the clone can be send on a training, where it will be fighting with other players. Before you send him, you must know, that the training itself will last for several real-time hours. You can also abort the training before it's finished, but you will decrease the chance for the clone to receive rewards, and cut his experience gain. The longer the clone will be on a training, the more experience and the rarer the items it will get. The status of your network clone can be seen on the loading screens (if he is training, or if he completed it already), provided that you have connection to the Internet.
Besides the possibility to unlock characters which can be used as supports in Ninja World Tournament, you can (and should, if you want to try out each and every character) unlock additional characters which can be used in "normal" games, in other words those besides the Ninja World Tournament.

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution has a decent, pleasing to the eye graphics, but the game itself does not have high system requirements and should be able to run smoothly even on older configurations. This guide has been drawn based on a PS3 version of the game, as well as a computer with AMD Phenom II X4 B50, 16 GB RAM and GeForce GTX650 Ti. On the computer with this specification the game ran smoothly and without any problems, on the highest graphics settings. The game does not require constant Internet connection, regardless of the version (PS3, X360, PC) - it is required to be able to play Online, as well as take advantage of the Network Clone mechanic. In case of PC version, it's recommended to have a gamepad, as steering with keyboard is uncomfortable.
Singleplayer: Yes
Offline co-op (split screen/hot seat): No
Co-op over the Internet: No
Multiplayer: Yes, the number of players is independent of the platform:
