Heavy Rain game guide contains full walkthrough of the game (in - in my opinion - most optimal way) and all 17 endings fully described in terms of how to see them. Most important chapters, which are keys to the plot development, are described especially precisely, with every possible variation.

What is QTE and how it works?
QTE is an abbreviation from "Quick Time Event". It's very popular in modern games and it's concept is very simple. Just tap buttons or move you analog/pad in accordance with what is shown on the screen. It requires a bit of reflex, but it's not that hard. Difficulty choice changes how complicated and difficult QTE will be during the game. You can change game difficulty at every moment.

Get up. There's a tutorial in this chapter, that'll introduce You to game controls, which are rather simple. You can go to the balcony.
You can look around this room, open the wardrobe, but sooner or later you have to go to the bathroom (it's suggested by what Ethan thinks - L1 button).
Take a shower. You can also shave, brush teeth - you know, for the hygiene.
Now head back to the room and dress up (wardrobe). Then take the stairs and go down (you can juggle with little balls in kids' room before it)
Now you have a choice - either to work or to go out to the garden. I suggest you work - there's nothing special in the garden anyways, besides if you work you can get a Trophy.
Before that you can do a couple of things, like turn on the music, TV, drink some juice from the fridge...
Enter the atelier, take a seat and start drawing by picking up consecutive accessories. Follow the orders, game will tell you, what kind of actions you should take, so just go ahead and train a bit.
When you finish work, walk around house, go out to the garden. Your family will come back. Help your wife with shopping.
Your wife will order you to lay the table. Walk to the little shelf with presents on it and take out plates (You have to pull doors hard). Put them on the table - carefully! Now go back to your wife. Become affective, hug her and kiss - well, the outcome won't be so good, she will tell you to find some other things to do.
So take care of your kids - play with them in the garden. Make this helicopter thing and do a swordfight with Jason. It doesn't matter if you win or lose here.
Now head upstairs, to get Shaun. You will find him next to his bird, which is apparently dead. Talk to him.
Take care of Jason, while your wife looks for a shoes with Shaun. Go after him, he'll suddenly want a balloon. Buy it to him.
While you are searching for your cash, Jason - as every normal ten-year-old - goes out of Your sight. To make things worse your wife comes back and starts complaining. Go search for the kid then - deeper into the mall, the way where clown is looking.
Look into shops, but you want to go for the stairlifts.
Now you have to look for the red balloon. This is kind of annoying part, since it's rather hard to see it. To make things more fun you have to find it three time - on first take it turns out to be just a bunch of balloons going up in the air, on second - some other kid (coincidentally dressed up exactly as Jason). In the end you will find the real one, so go after him, heading for the mall exit.
Pick up Shaun, get inside the car and drive.
Shaun will start to watch TV, while you should go to the kitchen and look closely at this blackboard. Make Shaun do things as listed there: Snack, Homework, Dinner, Bed. Watch the clock, if the hour is too early Shaun wouldn't want to do it. Just wait for a while then and try again.
Ask Shaun if he wants some snack. Get him an orange from the kitchen.
Now wait, until it's homework time and make him do it. He will resist, but in the end he will listen. Sit with him and wait until he finishes.
He's got a cold. Go upstairs, to the bathroom, where in the closet You will find medicine. Give him to Your son.
He'll soon go back to watch TV. Suggest dinner. Look into the fridge, You'll find frozen pizza, and some other thing. Choose the other thing, it'll turn out it's just some meal to reheat in the microwave. Wait a long moment until he finish it and go back to watch TV again.
Wait until it's 8 and make him go to bed. Turn off TV, go into room next to the kitchen and pick up teddybear from the washer. Now go upstairs, into his room. Give him teddybear, talk to him, give him a father kiss, etc.
You will meet with Scott, second main character. He's a private detective, who investigate the Origami Killer case. Get inside and talk to the man at the reception. Few bucks will remind him where is the woman you look for. Go upstairs and walk through the hall to last room on the left. Knock the door and catch them before she closes them (QTE).
Leave money on the table and walk to her. Now you have to talk with her. The best way is to choose "persuade", "move", "ask" (suspicions), in this order. Now head for the exit, leave your card on the table.
You will have an asthma attack. Use the inhaler. It's gonna be in the last pocket, obviously. In the meantime some guy will make himself a guest in Lauren's room. Walk to the door and knock.
Ok, now use some force. You will have to fight the guy. It's the first real fight in the game, one of dozen You will have. All of them are just one big QTE. Fight the bad guy, until he escapes.
You are introduced to yet another main character - Norman Jayden, an FBI profiler. Get out of the car and walk to the policemen. You can also listen to what the TV crew next to the fence is saying - you will learn why are you here. Tell policemen who you are and head for the crime scene.
It's the first time you can have fun with ARI. It's kind of sci-fi gadget, that can find DNA traces (and others) on the field. Sweep the surroundings by pressing R1. Look around and find as many traces as you can. The most important trace is Orchid pollen in the air, next to the tent.
In tent you will find the victim. Search the body by looking on the different parts of body. Now talk to Blake. He's behind the tent. Walk next to him during talk.
Well, he wasn't much of a help. Go back to the Orchid pollen and go for railway from there. Sweep terrain here using ARI - You should find blood traces leading to the end of the fence. Take a look there closely - trail leads you up the scarp.
Climb up (annoying QTE) and use ARI here, up to the highway.
Norman should say something like he's done everything here and should head back for the station now. Do so then - go back to your car and head off. If he didn't say that, you missed some important trail (body, Orchid, tire traces).
Really simple scene. Just answer a few questions about some drawings and talk to the psychologist. While you talk, you can sit, walk around, etc.
You have to take care of Shaun in the park. Try to talk to him first. As you will see, he's not very talkative at the moment. Try to come up with some fun activities then.
Look around - there's a seesaw, carousel, which you can use.
You can also take Shaun on a swing or throw a boomerang he has in his backpack. Between that buy him a candy. Each of these activities comes up with a QTE and You can fail them. It doesn't affect the game, but try to pass them. For satisfaction and a Trophy.
Watch closely what Shaun is wearing during this chapter and remember it. It will come in handy later. Also keep in mind, that you entered the park at 4:10.
Shaun will want to go on the big carousel. Say ok. Walk to the ticket booth and buy a ticket. Now watch as your son is finally having fun.
Things got complicated. Run along the road in any direction, let it be left for instance.
Now run through the park, to the big carousel, where Shaun's backpack is left, then turn right - for the exit.
Look around the house. Shaun isn't here anyways, so if you want to save time, just head upstairs, into his room.
Ask the secretary how long you have to wait. Play some games using ARI.
Finally your new boss will appear. Go after him, let him talk.
He will ask you to bind his tie. Do it, try not to fail.
And you can walk around the police station. If you want to kill some time, you can go to the toilet, contribute to some fund-raising...
... make yourself a delicious coffee or drink some water.
Finally you have to talk to the secretary, who will show you your new office. Wow.
Get to work - get rid of unnecessary things on the desk and move it to the wall. Seat down. Wow, ARI is used also for to examine evidence and trails!
Choose your background and start investigation. Analyze all leads (geographic analysis too), check out Files also.
Close ARI. Your addiction will start to make effects. It doesn't affect the game if you get up and take a shot or resist, but I advise You to resist. In this case you have to go to the toilet and wash your face.
Ethan will come. You will have to describe what Shaun was wearing - that's why it was worthy remembering it in [The park]. As a reminder: He had beige jacket, green trousers and You entered the park with him at 4:10 (choose the closest hour).
Talk to the shopkeeper. He's is not cooperating, so just go further into shop to find inhaler.
It's time to become a savior of the oppressed, again. Go between two shelves most to the right. Take a bottle on your way. Now watch for a carton you will drop! Approach robber from behind and slam through his head. If you fail, he will spot you. Now you can try to persuade him to leave. IF you fail here as well, you will have to fight him. One way, or another, he will run and shopkeeper will give you some evidence.
And here is the last main character in the game - Madison Paige. She's a photographer and journalist with insomnia. Get up and listen to what's in her head (L1). You can find a cup of water in the kitchen, which you can heat up in microwave. There's also some paper on the table, that you can read.
All right, time for a shower. Enter the bathroom (door on the left), undress and... take a shower.
Put your clothes back on. You can take some sleeping pills if you want, but it doesn't change anything. Exit the bathroom and try to get some sleep on the bed.
Okay, it's got nasty. Try to get the phone from the desk.
It didn't turn out well, so head for the door on the right.
You don't have a choice - fight for your life. It's the same kind of fight Scott had in [Sleazy Place]. Whatever you do, this chapter ends the same anyways.
Sit at the table and pick up the letter. Take it out of the envelope. Ok, you know where you have to go.
You can use the backdoor to go around, through the fence on the left and between the buildings to your car - this way paparazzi won't spot you (that will give you a Trophy).
If you exit through the front, you will have to get through some crazy mob. That's why it's better to go through the back.
Go forward. Don't get up, even when Ethan says, he can't take it anymore.
You have to search for Jason with his balloon. You should remember second chapter - [The Mall]. Try to catch him, just as then. This time it's way easier to see him. He will disappear and appear again in different place again a few times.
When you wake up from this dream, you will probably find yourself close to the lockers. They're easy to recognize. Find row 18th and locker number three. Open it and take what it contains.
Go up to the desk and sit down. Open the box and check what's inside. Especially mobile, gun, then the bear origami - it'll introduce you to your first task.
Hide box under the bed and leave.
You have to talk about what you've found during your investigation. Don't let Blake put you out of patience. Talk calmly and be factual. Introduce your hypothesis about rain and geographic analysis.
Search the flat and look into every corner. Next listen to Norman's thoughts and do what they say.
Now you have to be really careful. Whatever happens - don't press R1! Talk to Nathaniel, try to be calm. Tell him to listen only to your voice.
As he calms down, ask him about everything you can - leave crucifixes for the end. When he turns around, he will make a move as if he is pulling out a gun and R1 button will appear for you to press. Don't press it, unless you want to shot innocent man. Nathaniel was pulling out a crucifix. It doesn't affect the plot if you kill him or not.
Go around the house from the left side and enter through kitchen. Go through the living room, check the crying baby, then head for the bedroom.
There's a suicide in the bathroom, after you force in there. Take her off the bathtub and lay her down on the bed. Now you have to take care of her wound.
You will find what you need inside the closet in the bathroom. Take it, clean woman's wound and bandage it.
Now you have to take care of the child. It's just another QTE. First you need to change diapers.
Next, since the beast is hungry, you have to find some food. There's a bottle in the kitchen, next to the sink. Warm it up and give to the child. Wait, until it burp and... no, it's still not the end.
Now you have to make Emily fall asleep. You have to be gentle here.
When the baby is asleep, go back to the woman. Talk to her and she will tell you about the phone. You will find it in the cabinet next to the baby. Take it and leave.
It's the first out of five trials Ethan has to finish to find his son location. You don't have to pass them all to find him. But I recommend to pass this one (if you fail, retake this chapter).
Walk to the mechanic under the van and call him until he goes out. Go to the "office" with him and take the keys. Use the lift to go down.
Use the keys to find your car. It's the one on the left, almost at the end of the parking. If you press the keys, car will flash it's light (as every car does).
Go inside. There's a GPS in the door on your left. Follow it's orders and start the trail.
Drive onto the highway's wrong lane (you don't have any choice here). It's another long QTE - you have to evade other cars (and different obstacles)
Finally you will end up on the roof somewhere next to the road. GPS will tell you about the SIM card you need. Take it and escape through the left doors. If you don't maneuver good enough, you won't get to your destination on time and you will fail the trial.
Enter the reception and use the ring. A charming man will appear. Rent a room.
Your room's number is 206. If you don't remember how to get to it, follow Madison's thoughts - staircase on the right, last floor.
You will meet Ethan on your way. Take him to room number 207.
You will find medicine inside the closet in the bathroom (again). Take the ones that are under the UP and DOWN arrows (disinfectant and a painkiller). Talk to Ethan and wait, while he takes a shower. Now, as Ethan, drink some water - you can find it next to bed.
Now look under the bed, where you left the box, open next origami and go.
Rather simple chapter. If you shot Nathaniel, you can have a lovely chat with Blake. Get out of the car and walk to the thug. As you could've predicted he started to run. Chase him (long QTE)
Run after him through all the market. In the cold storage generally head right. Now you will have to fight him. Nothing new - another big QTE. If you won't manage to catch him, don't worry - you will just miss a Trophy.
Check the desk, just to discover big "nothing interesting" there. Stand up and listen to Scott's thoughts. Head for the kitchen. And here's the unexpected visitor - Lauren. Invite her in and help her with her coat (man is born as a gentleman, not become one). Offer her a seat, sit behind the desk and talk to her.
Don't bother persuading her to give up. She has strong arguments and is really stubborn - you have to accept her terms.
Get out of the car, show your tickets to the bouncers and enter the mansion.
Talk to the people inside, asking for Kramer's whereabouts. You will find another bouncers on the left, talk to them. They're this most annoying type of bouncers "no, just because". Seems like you need to use some trick.
You have two option. One is, you can talk to Lauren and she will talk care of it - woman can really soften up a typical bouncer. Use the time when they're occupied with her, to go upstairs.
Another possibility is to talk to the drunk guy in white shirt and sell him some crap that the other guys told this and that about him. Bouncers will move to calm down the situation and you can go up without being bothered.
Enter Kramer's room (red door) and discover his dark hobby. Talk to him, be sceptical. Few bodyguards will come. Yes, another fight, another big QTE. You did what you wanted anyways, but beat him just to show Kramer who is the man. Then leave.
It's the second trial of Ethan. This one is difficult, but it's better if you pass it.
To enter the building, you need to circle it from the left, go along the fence and enter through hole in the fence around the corner. Go between the transformers and enter the door.
Inside, open the hatch, pick up the matches and go inside. There's kind of unpleasant surprise - broken glass. You don't have a choice though.
Use matches to find your way - light one on every junction and go the way the flame is pointing. To make it short, go: Right, left, left, right. Now you will find another unpleasant surprise. There's a room full of transformers with electrified cables hanging between them.
Look closely and you will see, that there are huge sparkles on most of them, but few are just sparkling a little - you can go between them. Go across fourth and fifth (counting from the left) in the row closest to you.
Be careful during crossing - you can make a mistake only a few times. If the edges of the screen become red - Ethan is on the verge of giving up. You won't die, but you won't pass the trial. Ok, you crossed the first cables, now go forward again, then turn left. Cross. Now turn right and cross both rows until the end.
If these instructions aren't clear enough, here's a scheme:
You came for a coffee, and here you are, saving a man's life. Lift Ethan from the ground and lay him on the bed.
Enter the bathroom, and take medicine from the closet (again). Disinfect the wound on the hand and bandage it, then rub the burn with ointment and bandage as well. Talk to Ethan, be curious.
As Ethan, open another origami and leave.
It turned out it was no use to chase after this guy. Well, that's life. You will learn new things from Ethan's wife - time to visit this psychologist.
Simple scene. Blake is gonna be a bad cop, you be a good one - talk calmly to the psychologist and stop Blake from hitting. Become more and more firm and finally threaten him that you are going to report him to your boss. Poor psychologist will share some shocking news with you and give you item, that seems to state clearly who is the killer.
Walk up to Kramer and talk to him. While you are talking to him, you can play golf, but you don't have to. And it's more or less all of this chapter. When you finish your chat just leave.
One of the most moving scene in the game and the most drastic at the same time. This is Ethan's third trial. If you don't want to have a Trophy for completing all of them I suggest you don't cut your finger.
You will spot porcelain lizards on the floor. There's a key in the second one - use it to open the door.
Listen to what this talking device has to say. Well, it's up to you. You can leave, or decide to stay and cut your finger. In case you decide to cut, authors prepared a lot of options for you.
Use can use as follows: knife in the wall in the kitchen, scissors inside the sink in bathroom, pliers next to TV...
... a saw or axe laying on the floor.
Put all of these on the table. Aside from that find a steel rod on the floor and heat it over the cooker until it's red.
You will find disinfectant inside the closet in the bathroom and a flask in the kitchen, as well as small piece of wood by the window. Put all that on the table too.
Put the small piece of wood between your teeth. You can drink from a flask, it will make cutting easier. Now choose the tool you want to use to injure yourself with.
To cut your finger, you will have to calm down by breathing deeply (listen to Ethan's breath, breathe deeply until it becomes normal). Now cut.
When you cut and get out of shock, disinfect the wound with disinfectant or cauterize with the rod.
Get off the bike and enter the building (blue door). You will find Ethan in really bad shape again (unless, as Ethan, you haven't cut your finger in [The Lizard], he will be completely allright then). This time though you don't have to nurse him, but help him escape.
It's no use to go out the front. Walk to the white wooden boards (or grey for women) that are covering the window. Take them off of it - this way you can escape.
In the middle of the room, in front of Ethan, there's a red box. Move it to the window and run.
If you haven't cut off your finger in [The Lizard] you will be shot. Run towards the read, between the cars, to the subway. In the subway take the gates on the left or right - middle ones are out of service.
After the gates go downstairs again, to the platform. Run on it a bit, then jump onto the rail and climb up to the next platform. Now into the train. Ok, you made it.
There's a possibility, that, during your escape, you will be caught. It still doesn't end Ethan's story - he can be freed later.
If Ethan was caught, you will see additional scene, where Ethan is interrogated.
Ask him a couple of questions in any order, then try to keep Blake off from hitting Ethan. Leave the room and go to your boss' office.
Play the piano. Try not to miss the notes too much, it's painful to listen.
Time for ARI. Some new leads appeared: Camera recording from the park, information about the car and ID. Analyze them. ID will push your investigation further.
Your addiction will remind itself again. Try to resist it again. You have to go to the bathroom and use a shower.
If Ethan was caught in [Fugitive], new scene will appear now, or - more accurately - continuation of the police station scene. You have to leave your office and go to Interrogation Room. Tell guard there he should take a break and help Ethan stand up. You have to find a cloak for Ethan and keys for his handcuffs. Go to the room behind the mirror and turn off the camera. Take the cloak from the chair too. Now head for the room where Ethan is held and order the guard to leave again. He will tell you, that the handcuffs keys are on his desk - almost in front of Blake's desk. Take them, go back to Ethan, uncuff him and give him the cloak.
If you see this chapter, it means, that:
A very short chapter, which appears if Ethan was caught in [Fugitive] and was not freed in chapter [Jayden's Blues]. It can also appear if Ethan was caught during [On the Loose].
Enter the shop and look around. You can find him in the back. His very old, almost blind and deaf, but somehow he still manages to do him work.
Talk to and follow him. He will ask you to answer the phone, so do it.
Drink Whisky with him. Drink all of it. Show letter to Manfred. Old man cannot see well, so bring him his magnifying glass from the counter. And ask him about everything, about clients last. He will go to the back while you look around the shop and talk to Lauren.
Read Scott's thoughts and go back. You will find dead Manfred.
Now you have to get rid of evidence. Think of what you have touched here: telephone in the back, window in the back (if you opened it), magnifying glass.
Telephone on the counter, Whisky glasses.
Small figure Lauren was so fascinated with and finally - front door. When you get rid of all fingerprints - leave.
If you missed something, nothing bad will happen. A short scene will appear, where Scott has to explain all the situation in the police station.
Now you have to talk to Lauren. Eventually she will leave the car, being dramatic. You don't have a choice - go to her and let her continue the investigation with you.
One of the most moving scenes in the game, while also Ethan's fourth trial.
Knock the door and react to hold the door. Draw the gun. Dealer will come up with some heavy arguments, so you have to run. It's typical QTE, just like any other. Run away from him until you reach kid's room.
Now you have a choice - to kill dealer or to spare his life. Kill him if you want to pass all the trials, but I suggest you don't do it - Shaun can be found without it anyways and it's not worthy to become a murderer.
Madison can die in this chapter. It has numerous consequences:
Knock the door, tell Doc why are you here, don't let him close them and enter.
Agree for a drink and talk to him. Tell him you need some stuff. He will encourage you to drink, but don't do it - it's poisoned. The Doc will get to you anyway, but don't give him that satisfaction (and you will get a Trophy).
Search the room, then enter the rooms on the left and right (bathroom). Look into the kitchen...
And you wake up, tied to an operating table. Struggle and scream as much as you can, until The Doc goes to see who is ringing the door.
Stop screaming, but keep struggling. You will manage to free one leg. Use it to take the drill, turn it on, then raise your butt and kick the drill towards your hands. Try to free before Doc is back. You will have to fight him anyways, but this way you will also gain a Trophy. Now fight him. Eventually it will become dramatic - The Doc will be drilled.
If you won't free fast enough (you have plenty of time, as Doc will go out twice) or lose the fight - Madison will die.
This chapter contains a fight, which you can actually lose, and if you do so, Norman will die. If Norman dies:
Walk to the yellow bulldozer and call Mad Jack. He's a real saint. Follow him to the workshop and tell him what you came here for. Mad Jack won't be very pleased and won't cooperate, he will just return to his yellow toy.
Put on ARI and sweep all room. You can find some pollen near the big hook and also some familiar tire tracks. Speaking of the cars - look behind a hook - you will find some paint.
Move towards exit, you will find two footprints and some blood. Blood? Look into the acid pool.
You are in bad situation - with big, strong thug behind you. And he has a gun. But not everything is lost yet. When Mad Jack will be leading you, attack. It's an another QTE. If you miss the buttons too many times - you will die.
But if you succeed you will be on the top and can gain some info from him (be aggressive). When Norman. When Norman will start to say this usual "you are under arrest..." thing, his addiction will come into play.
Now you find yourself in the car, what is about to be smashed. To free yourself look to the right and open the passenger locker, where you have another gun. Shot the handcuffs.
Now you exit the car quickly to avoid being smashed. Now it's the hardest part. You will have another fight with Mad Jack, it's really easy to die here. And you don't want that. Except of typical button tapping, you have to move the whole pad a lot.
The fight will be hard and when it will look like you have lost, Mad Jack will suddenly die.
Talk to Lauren and let her take a shower. You have been assigned with a very important mission of feeding the lady, so get to work.
Start - as any logic would tell - from the fridge. Grab some eggs, take pan and put it on the heater. Use eggs on the pan to make an omlette.
Keep looking over the omlette, until Scott says it's ready, turn off the heater, take a plate and teleport the omlette from pan to plate.
Let Lauren eat. Ask about the Notepad. It will lead you back to your desk, where you will have an eureka.
You have to find little Sheppard's grave. It's on the right side of the cemetery, a little to the front just next to the grabber. Look at it.
You get to know the lovely childhood of the murderer, his caring father and nice neighbourhood. You and your brother were kicked out from your house, so you have to do something. Your brother got a brilliant idea - let's run across the building site, it's not dangerous at all.
To make it short - you just have to run after him and do the same things. Just another QTE and will consist of various activities.
Finally your brother will suggest hide ans seek. You can cheat while counting. Run to the left and follow the call for help. You will find your twin brother stuck in a big pipe. He cannot get out, and you are not strong enough to help him.
Really short scene. Just head for the exit and make a shocking discovery.
This chapter do not appears if Madison was killed in [The Doc].
Enter the club and search for Paco Mendes. Bartender knows where he is, but to get to him, you have to go through the whole club, up to pole dancers. Paco is in the VIP lounge on the left and is guarder by some bodyguard.
Of course he won't let you in. You will discover that Paco invites the hottest girls. Follow the chosen girl and dance where she was dancing.
Well, you have to look hotter. To go women's bathroom (near the entrance). Walk to the mirror, improve your hair a little, put on some make-up (carefully), unbutton your blouse and shorten your skirt. Go back to the dancer's place and attempt to dance again.
Suggest him a little more of fun upstairs, what he will happily agree to. Follow him, check your bag in the hallway with red carpet, to remind yourself of the plan and enter his den.
Plan got screwed and you have to improvise. Try some tricks, but Paco won't listen to anything and will become kind of pushy. You have no choice - show him some body. It's the best to take of your skirt and move your butt a little, then hit Paco hard with the lamp.
Now wake him up - hit him three times. He won't want to talk, so use the thing that works on every man, until he speaks. Make some ecstatic sounds to scare off the guard.. When you are finished, just leave the club the same way you got in.
This chapter do not appears if Norman was killed in [Mad Jack]
When you enter the club, you meet Madison, who is leaving. You are also looking for Paco, but since you know where he is, head upstairs. Don't bother with the bodyguard and enter the room, where Paco is talking with some masked person. You come in in a bad moment. Now you need to fight, nothing new. When the burglar escapes, don't bother chasing him - you won't catch him anyways.
Start the ARI - check all trails.
Most of them are close to the dead body and desk.
There are also traces in the place where Madison undressed in front of Paco. When you check everything, leave.
Talk to the bodyguard on your way.
This chapter will not appear in the game if Ethan was caught in [Fugitive] and he was not freed.
One of the most important chapters, deciding which endings will be available. For better info you should check the Endings part.
Ethan can sleep with Madison in this scene, that will change endings.
Ethan can be caught by the police here, which will end his line - you will see chapter [Arrested] -I recommend you to check it's description to see consequences it brings.
If you escape, potentially all endings with Ethan are available, so:
Listen as Ethan has problems with himself and how Madison shows him compassion. Quite suddenly you will be put with a choice - either to kiss her or not. If you kiss, you will sleep with Madison. If you don't, Madison will leave and see police.
If you sleep with Madison, you will wake up beside her. Dress up and head for the exit. Check jacket on the chair - a Madison's notepad and camera will fall out.
Now it's the real time you make a choice if to be with her.
Madison left. Go downstairs, to the reception. You will discover Blake is here, with dozens of policemen and they are going to arrest Ethan any moment. You can jump on your bike and ride off, or call Ethan from the reception (number 207) - it doesn't matter.
You have to escape as Ethan anyways. It's a long QTE. When you will have a choice, which way to go, choose to go towards staircase, and then to the roof.
Keep running on the roof, until you reach its end. Now you have a choice - to let them catch you or to jump. I suggest you to jump. If you do it, stand up and take a taxi.
Lauren can die in this chapter. He is not a main character, but it still has some effect on endings:
Enter the flat. You will experience an unpleasant surprise.
You will wake up in the car, tied up. Struggle. Switch the ignition and look to the right. Take off the lighter and use it to burn the ropes. If you fail, do it with the glass from broken mileometer. When you free yourself, you can save Lauren, or just leave her.
If you want to save her, you have to try to wake her up first, then untie her ropes. If you don't care about her life - just kick out the door and swim out alone.
Rather simple scene. Kick the acceleration. Ok, gear first. Accelerate again. Now you have to press appropriate buttons, to shot the guards. If you fail a couple of times, Scott will have to run away. It' doesn't affect the game, but you want to talk to the man who almost killed you, right?
After killing around fifteen guards, you can finally enter Kramer's room. Talk to him.
You have a choice now - to help him, or to let him die. If you want to help him - his medicine is in the desk, inside drawer on the right. If not - just leave.
This chapter do not appears if Madison was killer in [The Doc]
Walk to the counter and sign as visitor. Head for the room number 19, its at the end of the hallway on the right. Enter it, introduce yourself and ask Ann Sheppard about everything you can.
As you can see, this is not going to be so easy. Check the table on the far end of the room, near the doors. Now walk up to the table under the window. Open the book on third origami figure (dog), make it and show it to Ann.
Walk to the table with empty flowerpot. You will find a photo in the drawer, which you should show her. Now leave the room - you can probably remember there were some flower in the hallway. You can find them easily, just go back along the hallway.
Take one and go back to Ann's room again. You can talk to the nurse on your way.
Put flower in the flowerpot, what will finally bring the old lady her memories back. Keep asking her about the name, until you (well, only Madison actually) hear it.
This chapter won't appear in the game if Ethan was caught in [Fugitive] (and wasn't freed later by Norman) or in [On the Loose].
This is the last of Ethan's trials.
Go forward, until you reach the white room. Walk to the table and listen what the message is saying. You have a choice - either to drink the poison, or not. Even if you drink it, it will not kill Ethan. So if you want to pass all of trials - go ahead and drink. If you drink it, you will get your final hint about Shaun's whereabouts.
Now, if you haven't passed all of trials, additional scene will come up, where Ethan (depending on how much hints you've got) will choose a few possible locations. Even if you passed only one trial, it's quite simple. Use your cellphone - you can hear clearly, that Shaun is somewhere close to the water.
There is only one location close to the river, drive to this place if you want to save your son. Choose the location marker red - 852 Theodore Roosevelt Read.
This chapter do not appears if Norman died in [Mad Jack].
This chapter determinates if Norman will come to [Old Warehouse]. If you give up or you accuse Blake - you fail (unless Madison will call you in [Killer's Place]). Only possible endings will be [Resignation], [Smoking Mirror] then.
Check all leads again. Start from the recording, then car, recipes, gun, and finally "?"Don't accuse Blake, unless you want to see[Resignation]or[Smoking Window].
Continue your investigation. Go back to the gun (geographical analysis), that will lead you to the answer. Norman will discover, where killer has his warehouse.
This chapter appears only if Lauren was rescued in [Trapped].
Typical movie scene, where you don't have anything to do. Just watch it.
The only thing you have to do here is to run straight ahead, and turn right after the fence ends - to your father.
There's not much to do here either. Just throw all the evidence to the fire and watch some memories.
This chapter doesn't appear if Madison was killed in [The Doc].
This chapter determines if Madison will come to the crime scene. If you find out the correct password and survive - Madison will come to [Old Warehouse]. If at least one of these condition is not met - Madison will die, or just don't appear in the final chapter.
Try to open the door, use your hairpin to open the lock. You can check the desk inside, but there's nothing important there.
You want to check the wardrobe next to the desk - open in, move the clothes and discover a hidden door.
Enter the room and look around. The key object here is a laptop, which can lead tell you the location of Shaun.
The correct password is "Max". You have four attempts. To type the correct password, you need to pick two from under any button (it will appear as third password under "X" for example). If you get it right, or fail to find it - Scott will come in.
Now you have to run from this room. Check the wall behind laptop (especially on the left), then pick up this big green box.
Turn around and head for the wall here. Hit it with the green box - right side. Make a hole and go through it.
Exit to the room. Walk to the armchair and flip it over, then go along the tunnel between flames, to the door. Continue like that in the next room, around the desk and flip the locker here. Don't jump out of the windows - you will die.
Enter the kitchen (white door). You can either hide in the fridge, or use the window on the corner (behind microwave). If the pressure gauge goes up to the end before you do it - you die. After the blow, if you found out Shaun's location, you can call Ethan or Norman, and share this info with them..
This chapter will vary depending on which characters made it here. It can also greatly influences endings.
If all main characters appear here - then Ethan is the one saving Shaun, Norman fights the killer and Madison tries to prevent police from storming the place.
If none of the characters appear here - Shaun is left alone and dies and the killer is not caught.

Shaun is locked in the well at the end of the room. To save him as Ethan or Madison, try to lift up the hatch, then pick up the bar on the right (it can appear after fight with Scott, if Madison is alone for example) and destroy the padlock with it. Next, lift the crate, take Shaun out of the water and reanimate him. You cannot fail with that.
This fight doesn't vary from what you've got throughout the game, except of the scenery of course. You can lose it, then given hero dies and Shaun is not rescued (unless there's another hero here, or you play as Norman, who rescues Shaun before fighting).
TV News appear everytime and summarize the action, so they will vary depending on the events and fate of each character.
