Eragon Game Guide & Walkthrough

Eragon is action/adventure game based on Christopher Paolini's book. It is the first part of the "Inheritance" trilogy. The perspective is set on the third person's view. We personify fifteen year old boy, who has the same name as game's title. Someday he finds blue ball, which turns out to be a dragon's egg, and from this egg hatches a dragon, Saphira. In short time the young boy finds out that someone wants to kidnap the dragon. The dragon explains the boy that he is the dragon rider and his destiny is to save Alageasia from the tyrant Galbatorix. Enjoy the game.

A few tips for the beginning

1 In the game there are many battles, so I will not describe how to kill every enemy, because it's done in the same way every time and it's very easy.

2 In the Eragon there are two kinds of balls: the red ones, which restore your energy bar and the green ones, which add the power points.

3 If you collect together with your partner sufficient amount of power balls (full bar), you can turn on the fury mode, which increases your strength a lot.

4 You can use the magic skills only, when the blue bar is full.

5 Every time, when you see a blue hand on an item, you can use the magic, for example use a weapon or push an object.

6 On every level there is a secret blue egg. Each found egg unlocks a bonus movie.

7 Second player can join the game any time, as Brom at the beginning, and further as Murtagh. Skills of every hero are similar to each other.

8 In the wooden chests there are always hidden red or power balls. There is a lot of them in the game, so I will not describe, where they are.

Your journey starts with hunting an elk. Go straight on along the path. You'll see a rock, jump on it and go ahead. There are some woods on your way. Destroy the first one with any kind of attack. The next you have to destroy by performing the right set of combos: first the knockback swipe, then the knockdown smash, the stun attack and at the end the grapple combo. After a while you'll see an elk, run after him.

You'll reach a rock wall, jump on the ledge and lift up. To get through the river grab the edge of the bridge and holding it go to the other side. Still follow the elk. Before you enter the tunnel, grab the edge of the rock on right side and lift up. You'll see the blue secret egg. Collecting it, you'll unlock the bonus movies. Jump down and go on. Now use your bow. Destroy every scarecrow; some of them need a precise shot, to do this hold longer lock button.

Second level is a bit tougher, there are more battles. You are in a burning village. Kill every knight until a movie appears. The guy in black armour, who helps you, is not a bug, but your partner, Forest. When you leave this place you'll arrive to narrow empty corridor. In the second niche destroy the box with a power ball.

The entrance of the building will be blocked by barrels, you can destroy them. You'll meet a new type of monster, huge guys with blades. The easiest way to attack them is by using the jump attack. Shoot down with the bow the alone knight in the barn. To collect the secret egg, grab a beam and lift up, you'll get on an attic and there's the prize. After killing that group, go to the slaughter house. Destroy every obstacle on the path, which blocks the way through. Try not to come near the bars, because the blades of the monsters cause serious injuries. Go right to the end of corridor.

You'll spend the time of the next mission on wooden platforms over the bay. At the beginning run left and jump down onto the lower footbridge. There is no need to kill any enemy. Destroy the barrels and kill the monsters with crossbows with the bow. Climb upwards through the platforms to reach the place, where have the archers been. Going further you'll see a movie with the Eragon. Any time when you see a blue icon with a hand, you can use the magic skills by pressing down and holding the magic button and pushing the quick attack button. In that type of attack you can throw spears.

After killing everyone, use magic on the crane, which holds the platform. Jump on it to get to the further path. You will meet again the magic spears, which you can use against huge monsters with blades. Before falling to the lower level use magic on the next crane and shoot the rope through with a precise shot to kill everyone below. Jump down to the narrow footbridge and do the same thing with the next rope. Go upstairs and kill the company. You'll reach a destroyed ship. Turn the pole round by using the magic hand, grab it and go to the middle of the ship. Do the same thing, to get to the other side. To collect the secret egg go left, passing by a few bends. At the end of the path you'll find a blue ball. Now go back to main path and enter the building. Eragon will learn a new magic skill - you can push enemies holding the magic button and pressing down the jump button or quick attack button. Use that skill to throw archers into the water. Go along the edge of the beam under the ceiling. Create a bridge by using the magic hand. Go up to the higher level, grab the beam on the right side of the waterfall and lift up. Throw down every enemy or kill them using the bow. Leave the building through the big open door.

The goal of this level is to open the main gate. First you have to cover villagers, who are extinguishing the fire at the door. When the way is clear, enter the house and go upstairs. Climb up to the higher platform, there is a switch at end of the path, use magic to switch it.

Go back to the place, where you have started this level. Again cover the villagers. Go up to the roof of the building and kill the archers. Go outside to enter another house. Jump down and kill the enemies. Climb up on platforms to get outside, there destroy the barrels with water to put out the fire of the doors. Go through the new doors, then through the bridge and again cover the villagers. Destroy the burnt doors, create stairs by using the magic and go upstairs. Kill the company and smash the rotten planks. To collect the secret egg, go along the narrow platform to the other side of the room. Now go outside and unlock second castle/lock. Leave the building, some warriors will attack you. To destroy their armours, attack them from jump or use the magic push. After killing everyone, a movie will appear.

Go straight avoiding enemies. A movie will be shown. You can summon Saphira for help. When you see a blue dragon icon use the magic. Repeat that two times to destroy both towers.

Go through the gate and kill everyone, who's on this path. Summon Saphira again. After a movie destroy the rotten planks and jump down onto the rock. Use the magic to create a bridge. After crossing it, do it again. Reach the bridge by jumping on platforms. Approach another gate and use the magic hand to pull out planks from towers and then shoot to rope, which holds the bridge. Go through gate and towards the down side. A secret egg lies opposite to a small house, there is small a jump down, which seems to be invisible. At end of that path climb on another bridge, a movie will be shown. You'll unlock a new skill - shooting with the magic arrows. Hold the bow and the magic button and press down the quick attack button. After killing the three archers summon a beam and go to the other side of the bridge. Jump on the highest platform and kill the enemies until a movie appears.

This is the first mission with Saphira, it can be called a training mission. Steering is very easy, dragon flies all the time, one thing you have to do is to avoid rocks and trees. On the beginning eat four flying doves, which restore your energy. Saphira will fly around the rock, so the time is not limited. When you kill those birds, the enemies will appear. You can destroy the brown monsters by using Saphira's tail or by shooting a bow. After killing each of them, their energy bar, shown in the upper side of the screen, will decrease. After leaving the tunnel stay at the right side to collect the secret egg. Dragon will make a circle above the lake. The egg is straight under the exit of the tunnel. When you kill every enemies, level will be finished.

Saphira was trapped. Your job is to move out pieces of trees, which squeeze her. Unfortunately, you can't destroy all of them at once. First you have to kill one, then two monsters. They take a lot of energy, so the best way to kill them is the quick attack and the dodge. The secret egg is on the lower corner of the level and it's very easy to find.

This time no one will attack you, at least for some time. You have to shoot to the bell to open the gate. To do this, turn right, enter the bigger room and go upstairs. The guards will be alarmed, so you can choose another way and move out a stone from the wall, a few steps backwards. Whatever way you choose, turn left to the belfry. Open the hatch with the magic and shoot towards the bell with the bow; you'll see the opening of the gate.

Go in through the gate. Find the secret egg climb on the cornice on left side, then climb to the roof and go through a small window. Catch the beam and get to the other building. Turn right and you will fall onto a small ledge with the prize. Now enter the building, which is on the right side of yard. Then go upstairs and climb up until you'll reach the roof. Get to the next roof and go along the beam over the abyss. Here the archers are not so friendly as before. A few meters further there is a small army which waits for death. They are not very strong. Enter the barn, jump on the boxes and go along the planks. Shoot to the bell as before. Leave the building and go to the sewers, entrance is in front of the barn. Go straight, until you reach a big hole, destroy the obstructing tree and enter the next tunnel. Smash the obstacle, and then jump out of the sewers. Enter the stone building on the right. It turns out to be a trap, but there is no reason to panic. Run to the door and destroy them by using the magic. After setting yourself free kill every archer and knight. Destroy the rock nearby the big gun by using the magic skill, this will help you to get upstairs and open the main gate. Now use the big crossbow and go through the gate.

To open the first gate stand on one platform, which is over the door, Brom will stand on the other and the gate will open. Go down to the dungeons, entrance is on the right. Kill the company and go back upstairs. Go through the gate, when Brom draws away attention of the enemy, sneak behind him.

Go on for a few meters and throw down two archers. When you see the next knights wait, until Brom draws away their attention, and then sneak by to go further. Repeat that with the next group. Now you have to climb onto the upper level of the walls. Take out the rock from the wall three times, to create stairs. On the walls there are many warriors, but you don't have to kill them. It's enough to jump over them or roll near by. Move left until you will reach the edge of the wall. Here you can turn down and go right to find the secret egg. Now move towards the huge building and go to the center of the arena, you'll see a movie. You will fall into a cell, but don't panic. Dig a hole in the ground by using the magic and jump down into it. Make a few steps to the next room, where this level ends.

Fortress it is a very high round tower. You have to reach the top of it. On the beginning catch a small niche and get onto the solid ground by jumping on rocks. Kill the first warriors and get closer to the collapsed bridge. It turns out that there is way to rebuild it by using Eragon's magic. Inside the chamber go upstairs. Leave the room and go to main hall, then kill a few knights and take out some rocks from the wall on the left side of path. To find the secret egg climb up, then go left until you will see a hole in the ground. Jump into it, you are now in a room with the egg.

Now come back to bridge and climb up on the cornice, then create a road by drawing blocks out of the wall. You will be about one floor higher. Archers will appear, but do not pay any special attention to them. Pass through the bridge and rebuild the path. Go to the next abyss, there you can reach the other side by using a jutted rock. Now enter the middle chamber, leave it through the upper exit and summon a beam by using the magic. Go along it and turn left. There are platforms in the corner; you can use them to reach the next level. Go along the narrow planks. Turn right and enter again a small room, there push up the pillar, then go outside and try to get inside using the third bridge. This way is shut, so go up the unfinished stairs and complete pushing the pillar.

Now you can climb on the next floor. Kill everyone, who's in the middle room. Bridge will appear and it will take you there. Go to the balcony across the chamber. Destroy a part of it to make the way to the next floor clear. Inside awaits a small surprise with knights. The magic shield may be very helpful here, use it for pushing out every enemy around you. Leave through newly opened gate. Go right and use the magic on pillar. That will help you to reach the next floor. Get on the second bridge, there is a small rock in the front of the entrance to the chamber, you can stand there. Use magic on the wall; that will help you to reach almost the top of the tower. Go across the bridge and kill the warriors. Go downstairs. Go through the center of the hall and go upstairs. Enter again the central chamber, for a little break and kill a few knights. Go outside through the open gate and go upstairs to the next floor. Red knights will come, they have strong armors. To quickly kill them all stay on bridge and wait until they surround you, then use the magic shield to drop them off. Go inside and pass along the narrow planks. You can go to the corners of the room to get power balls, they will be useful soon. Go through the bridge and to the next floor using the stairs. At the end of the path there is a rock, which can help you to reach the center of the hall. Destroy the gate and get inside. There you will meet the angry Darza. Of course you have to kill him. There are two ways of doing it. The first one - by using the fire attack and the fast combo with sword, the second one - by pushing him with the magic and smashing with the sword, when he's knocked out. You can use the bow too, but it takes more time to kill him in this way. After viewing a movie, a new hero will join you. His name is Murtagh.

In this level there are more battles then in previous one. On the beginning turn left. Make a few steps and go across the river; fat boys with blades will attack you. After killing the first one, you can summon Saphira, she'll kill the company from rocks. Go along in the river as long as it becomes too deep; then get out of the water on the right bank. Now use the magic to push a long rock.

Pass over it and you will arrive to a large square; some warriors will jump out - kill them. Near the bank there are two chests with spirits of power, which will help you with the fatties. After the fight, jump on the gap and then on next one. Go straight until you will come to a rocky wall, pass along the edge of it over the river. Go in among the rocks, then go down to the level of the water and go along in the river again. After a moment enemies will appear. Call the dragon to fight with the archers and do not be too concern with the rest of them, because is an infinity of them. Go straight until the end of the river, go out on the ground and pass by one bridge. On second one try to gather as many enemies as possible and push them down to the water. After the battle a path will open on the right side of the river. Follow the river until you will come to the last fight. You don't need to kill anybody here besides the knights, who are standing on the ledges; you have to climb up there. Turn left on the top of the mountain and go to the down side of the screen, there is the secret egg. When you collect it, go straight on.

This can be a silent mission without any fight if you will use only the bow. If enemies will notice you nothing will happen, there will only be more of them. On the beginning one of them will be going to your direction, you shouldn't have any problems with killing him. Follow the path until you will come to the checkpoint; there is the next chance to silently kill everyone in here. Destroy the stones by using the magic hand and go along the rock dropping down all enemies on your way.

In the tunnel try not to play with them, the best way of killing is to knock them down with the magic arrow and finish it, when they lie on the ground. After the leave you can cope with the welcoming committee. If you choose left bridge to pass through you can drop three great icicles on the archers with the help of the magic. Choose the right path to go further. Pass through the tunnel and reach the river. Once on a narrow bridge run up to the rocks quickly. Climb on the mountain and eliminate all. The secret egg is in the hole on left side. Although it seems so, there is no precipice in here. Use spears to kill enemies, and then enter the tunnel previously destroying the blockade. On the end of the tunnel you will see a scene with ambush, fortunately not very successful one. Archers shoot from time to time fire arrows to light the large fire, push all the enemies into it. Repeat this action several times. You can finish with them using the sword, but it is a much slower way.

Collect the spheres of power from chests and jump down onto the bottom of the slope. On the bridge push down two warriors; then continue to go down. Crossing the next platform call Saphira for help. Kill the enemies behind the bridge and go down on the bottom. Pass by the next bridge with the help of the dragon. Several meters after that a scene will be shown in which you will see a very thick fog. Eragon moves very slowly, to move more quickly roll all the time, in addition you will avoid the unnecessary fight with the giants. Go straight on all the time until you will come to the mountains, a movie will start. Repairing a bridge it's the next stage. To collect the secret egg, go down under the rock, which is on the left side, there is corridor and on its end waits the blue prize.

Now go under the lifted bridge; to lower it you have to activate two buttons in the short time. One is on the left side; come back a little, there is a corridor. Second button is on one of the slopes; jump up on the footbridges on the mountain and pass by the tree put here as a bridge. When the bridge is ready go through it, quickly. Go through the narrow corridor, and then jump down. Go through the river and run straight all the time. Mind the great falling rocks. They take almost whole energy. There are five killing stones. Don't worry about the archers, they will be smashed anyway. Jump on platform on your left at end of the river and run to the waterfall. Enemies with swords will appear. You have to finish them off before the girl's energy bar reaches zero. They are very hard to defeat them because there are no balls of health in the chests. There is an abyss on left side, lure the warriors nearby it and throw them down using the magic shield or the jump attack.

The goal of this mission is to protect 6 towers from urgal army attacks. Saphira can now breathe fire. To do this, press and hold the quick attack key. Set the black puddles with oil on fire and all the enemies around will burn. In the short time the catapults will appear. You can destroy it with the dragon's tail. If you lose a little bit of energy, white pigeon will appear, eat it and it will renew the bar. The secret egg is on the end of the valley, among three towers on side of the level.

As you have surely already noticed you have to kill four hundred king's soldiers. This is not very difficult and time-consuming because you can call Saphira several times and she makes purges. On the beginning, go down to the scaffoldings and the wooden towers. Opposite to the stairs there will be the archers, you can destroy their ground by using the magic.

There is the energy on the floor of the cottage. When you kill about fifty warriors, you will reach the next level. It's similar to the previous one. When you finish the battle, go onto the cottage and then upstairs. Kill the archers again and go up. Clear the building. Kill knights, who are on the tower shooting with the magical arrows. Go through the bridge and down the stairs to pick up the secret egg. The prize is on the stone building behind the wooden scaffolding. Now go up and walking through the bridge enter the ground. Kill the enemies and climb to the roof of the stone building. Call the dragon to burn the corn field. Enter the building through a newly open gate. Use your magic to open the door and to kill the knight. Go down on ground floor and get out to the last battlefield. Call Saphira for help, and when you kill your enemies call her again to burn the rest of the army.

You have to break Saphira in to kill the last boss of game. In beginning it seems to be impossible, but there is always a way to go. The Darza uses practically only two kinds of attack, the spheres of fire and the magic spheres. You can avoid the first kind of attack by flying around, the second kind is possible to separate. Just when Darza lets the spheres go, hold the key of the magic and press the button of the quick attack. When he will turn back and will breathe fire, which should not reach you, he will appear just in front of the muzzle of your dragon, breathe fire towards your enemy. This attack causes the most serious wounds. It is possible to kill him with the bow, but this is a very slow process. The secret egg is in highest point you can reach, so hold on all the time at the upper part of the level and Darza will direct you to the egg.

This level becomes unlocked, when you will collect all the secret eggs. It is something like a survival battle. On every level enemies of various types and in various quantities appear. Your task is to murder the highest number of warriors and to reach the access to the highest level for the one energy. Murtagh will help you. I wish you good luck in beatings the records.
