How do you make pinata
The following are the materials you need to make a pinata.
- flour
- water
- vegetable oil
- Salt
- 1 round balloon
- newspaper, torn into 1-inch X 6-inch strips
- paper towels, torn into strips
- paint or markers
- colored crepe paper
- tissue paper
- string
Before starting, get a newspaper to cover the work area so that it gets easy to clean the mess later.
Tear the paper 1 inch wide and 6 inches long. Do not use scissors to cut them.
Now add one part of flour and two parts of water until it becomes like thick glue. Also make sure you add 1-2 tablespoons of salt to avoid molds.
Once done, blow the balloon and tie the end. get a bowl which is shallow so that it doesn't roll when you work.
Get some vegetable oil and spray on the balloon. This will help in not sticking to the balloon when you pop it.
Just dip a strip of newspaper into the flour mixture and start coating the strip. Coat it vertically. Apply it until the balloon is covered. Leave a hole at the top to fill the pinata. Again, add a second layer of strips to the balloon.Angle it horizontally. Start adding third layer of torn paper towels.
Its time to pop the balloon once the layers and paper towel strips are dried.
You can decorate the pinata by cutting it 3 inch paper tissue squares. Get some glue and stick it to the pinata. Don't glued the edges of the square.
Start cutting pieces of crepe paper and start curling them with pencil. Glue it to the pinata. Cut longer strips of crepe paper and attach them at the bottom of the pinata.
Next start making tiny holes, about 2-3 near the top opening. Insert a yarn or string through these holes and tie and longer string to it for hanging.
Your pinata is ready. Now you can fill it with some toys, candies or anything else you got to make it look great.
Hope this helps.
