The easiest way to obtain a copyright is to write down any information pertinent to what you want a copyright on, put it in an envelope, put correct postage on said envelope, address it to yourself, and drop it into one of the blue mail bins on the street corners of many cities in the United States. When it goes through the US Postal Service, and gets postmarked at the Post Office, as long as you do not open the envelope, the postmark, which always includes the date it was postmarked, will hold up in court as proof of concept.
