Can you help me find a PC game from the 90s

I'm looking for a PC game that i used to play, must be mid-90s, although no idea if that's when it was developed

my memory is a bit vague about the gameplay, especially as i never got that far, but what i remember of it was being in a desert town of sorts, and having a donkey that you had to find some carrots for you. it was a kind of role playing game, side scrolling from screen to screen, and you could buy things from the shops, send telegrams, talk to the local monk etc. all cartoony graphics, looked like the Arizona desert or something

anyone have any ideas??

i also remember another game from back then that i think was another side scrolling type game, and i remember going through dungeons at some point. i think you were a cat type character, in a nice royal blue suit and hat with a lil sword.

any ideas on either of those games??
