It will work, but if you're using a screen size larger or smaller than 1024x768 you will experience some graphical bugs that may or may not affect you gameplay. For example, the petz will have no eyes.

The only currently known solution to this is changing your screen resolution, but if you love your petz so much, then it will be worth it. This can turn out to be a minor annoyance if you are using a resolution larger than that.
