The first arcade game made in Japan that is popular worldwide and is very known was Donkey Kong on July 9, 1981. The first home video game console was the Famicom (Family Computer) released on April 15, 1983. It was then released in the US market as the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) on October 18, 1985. It was made by Nintendo and it helped revitalize the US video game industry following the video game crash of 1983.
