A promotion code is basically the same thing as a coupon.
To get the sales price of the promotion you have to have the code to either enter in the websites shopping cart if shopping online or have it when checking out at a store in person.


Especially in the airline industry promotion codes are created to give discounts to passengers so that more people come and buy flight tickets, hotels, holidays etc.
