How do you become a moderator on kongregate
Moderators are selected through a very deliberate process of observation, nomination, and discussion over a long period of time. Though most mods are mid to high level users, there are no level requirements. This is mostly due to the fact that mid to high level users are active, and have been active for quite some time, meaning they know the site well, and know the user base they will be working with.
Generally speaking, the probability of becoming a moderator is increased if you follow a few simple guidelines.
1- Don't be a troll. When you're in chat, be a friendly, helpful, active user.
2- Don't beg. Asking to become a mod will not help your case in any way.
And possibly the most important one...
3- Understand that it is a responsibility. Becoming a moderator is serious. A great deal is expected of you, you have FEWER rights than a normal user, you are expected to represent Kongregate to the best of your ability, and you are expected to do your best to ensure that chat remains healthy and fun, while enforcing the conduct guidelines if necessary. You're a volunteer (read: unpaid) and often the target of trolling and harassment.
