Heroes of Newerth is currently in closed beta testing. If you receive an invite to the beta then you will be able to play for free for as long as the game remains in beta. The developers have not yet set a date for open beta testing, but you may sign up to be sent an email the moment that open beta testing starts atwww.heroesofnewerth.com Once the game is officially released, the game client will be free to download. However, it will cost a one-time fee of $30 in order to purchase an account to play. There will be no monthly charges, and no extra 'micro' transactions in order to unlock content.
