What is an Android

Android is a mobile OS made by GOOGLE for smartphones. Android can support 3G and 4G technologies. 60% of Android apps are free which makes it very attractive for any smartphone buyer. Android SDK is used for software development targeting Android enabled smart phones. You can download the SDK and install in Eclipse to start development.
The term Android also refers to human like robots. The word was popularized by the French writer Villiers in his 1886 novel L'Ã�ï¿½ve future. The term "android" appears in US patents as early as 1863 in reference to miniature human-like toy automatons.
