What is Monster Hunter Freedom 2
Monster Hunter Freedom 2 is a PSP game released in 2007. You play the role of a village's Monster Hunter, and take on various quests. To complete these quests you either need to gather specific items, slay multiple monsters, or defeat a powerful "boss" monster. Don't take these on lightly - these monsters are incredibly powerful and can take up to an hour to defeat, depending on how far into the game you are. As you defeat monsters, you can carve them for materials that you may use to upgrade your equipment. The game-play of Monster Hunter Freedom 2 (MHF2) is entirely skill-based, and may be overwhelming to new players in difficulty. But don't give up. There are 11 types of weapons, from dual-swords to bowguns, each suited for a different scenario. Overall, the game may be difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it you will continue to enjoy it for the estimated 200-300 hours of game play!
The 11 types of weapons:
Sword and Shield, Dual Blades, Longsword, Greatsword, Hammer, Hunting Horn, Lance, Gunlance, Light Bowgun, Heavy Bowgun, Bow.
Each has its perks and downfalls, from speed, to combos, to power, to shields. There is also elemental damage that is good against certain monsters (fire against ice wyverns, electric against water dragons).
There is also a farm in your village that you can go to and mine, fish, plant/harvest, catch bugs, and collect mushrooms. It's features can be upgraded with Pokke points, because you can only use each location a certain number of times until you complete another quest. You can get Pokke points by finding rare items during quests. When you complete the quest you trade in these special items to get a set amount for each one. By upgrading the Pokke farm you can also gain new features besides the beginning ones. It is well worth your time to invest your Pokke points into your farm.
