How do you open swf files
How you can open/play a .swf video:
Right click your .swf file choose "open with". Choose Firefox (provided adobe flash is installed into firefox).
If you don't know if you have adobe flash installed into firefox, just try to play any video from youtube. If you can then it's working. If you don't have firefox you might be able to use another browser like opera, chrome or Internet exploder.
The browser should play a swf file offline with video, sounds and click-able interface just as it does streaming from servers over the internet.
Play a swf video offline without the browser:
The problem with swf is that it has extra click-able interfaces with it that makes it much more than a video. So one way to do it is to convert your .swf file into a .exe which will then play the movie. Download ABC Amber Flash Converter 1.03 which is free and will convert SOME .swf files (some swf files have stuff that trips it up) (if the .swf file has the censorship bit set to yes, then this software won't get around that).
Or go to http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html adn scroll down until you find the hyperlink "Download the Windows Flash Player (Latest Version Number) Projector content debugger".

In case his blog goes down, short and skinny is to download the "ABC Amber Flash Converter 1.03", open up your whatever.swf with it, do a save-as and create the whatever.exe and run it.
