Will there be a soulcalibur 6
The developers at Namco's Project Soul division have allegedly been arguing over the past seven months about how big Ivy's breasts should be which is causing the development of Soulcalibur 6 to be repeatedly delayed. While Namco has declined to make any public statement in regards to these rumors, Soulcalibur V director Daishi Odashima recently spoke in an interview with Dengeki about development problems during Soulcalibur V caused by Ivy's appearance and how it started all the way back during Soulcalibur IV. "While working on the fourth game, people were starting to wonder if we were pushing it with how big we were making Ivy's breasts," explained Odashima, "As I had known in advance that I would be the director of the fifth game, I decided to secretly make the decision to have the game take place many years after the fourth one. I figured no one would want to see an old Ivy. Little did I know that many staff members at Project Soul really enjoyed seeing Ivy's breasts." "I was forced to concede and so the team added a youthful Ivy back into the roster and we were back at square one," continued Odashima, "Then the arguments started again. It was about a half and half split this time with some wanting to cover her up and some just wanting her almost naked. I said that we should maintain some level of realism but that didn't deter people from wanting her breasts to be even bigger than before. After three months, we came to a solid consensus on her appearance. Now I find myself embroiled in an even bigger argument." "I feel that some members of Project Soul are burnt out from solely working on the Soulcalibur games," theorized Odashima, "I have a hunch that some staff members only stay so they can work on the physics for Ivy's breasts. Some even work overtime on her character model even if they are not part of the character design team. Rarely can we focus on the battle mechanics or the blocking system without some member pointing out that it might impact how Ivy will move. I should just put my foot down and get rid of her as a character altogether but then a lot of our staff would probably quit." "In a poll asking players what they thought of Soulcalibur V, many chose to skip the game altogether after learning that Taki would not appear in the game. It was the top reason players chose not to buy the game with the second being that Sophitia would not appear in the game.
