Is Sonic the Hedgehog a racer or a fighter

he is mainly a racer BUT he does do a lot of fighting with Dr.Eggman but he is not officially an actual racer using cars or any other motor vehicle but if u had to choose it would be mainly a racer but officially he is not a racer or a fighter
